I am taking the NREMT-B this Summer and starting Paramedic school in the fall.  EMS All the way. The Paramedic saves the patient but the EMT saves the Paramedic. Always remember ABC

Im in a emt class right now (they changed the name to pcp where i live) i would say know ur biology and chemistry. especially biology. u really need to know how everything works. its alot harder than high school.

i only took grade 11 chemistry, not grade 12, just know your basic stuff. im taking it at siast in saskatchewan, so they might have different requirements if u live elsewhere. so u might need chemistry, better safe then sorry

college chem really isnt that bad, and you wont be using stoichiometry in the field, so just make sure you know your basics, especially medications that can precipitate, and have harmful sideefects when combined. Just take it to pass it, you wont meed o be a chemist to be a paramedic.

yeah, we have a city contract and depot where Police, Fire and Ems all acquire uniforms on a point system..the Police sometimes joke we are their clones :)

Minimal extrication tools, but we do drive Ford 450's..they are quite large...lots of room and takes a bit to stop them

Great video. As a future EMT student, I appreciate the glimpse of the atmosphere and comaraderie of a Paramedic college class. Also, out of the dozens of Paramedic and MedEvac videos I have seen, yours was the first I came across that used 'How to Save a Life'. Great work.

it is funny you talk about the bonds we make in the course, this scenario was to be done in 20minutes, and our instructor had to warn us several times to stop applying all of the straps on the patients and let the "Attending " medic do it...it was funny b/c we all would swoop in and the patient extrication would be ridiculously fast :)
