I can make hd movies now, only it's not full screen, i still get on both sides 2 black sides when i make and upload it on youtube, how do you make it real fullscreen?
You're just uploading 4:3 aspect ratio. To start with,You need to record the video in 16:9 aspect radio. then it's will fit all the screen, and as You say, "fullscreen" ;)
People who make more money back from the programs and believe that it's a small price to pay when you consider how much money you get back. Lol.
Also, $1000 for a screen recorder, what are you talking about? It's $299 USD and as I said, I was lucky enough to win Video Studio - which is around $100 bucks.
Just downloading the programs? Hmm, weird, are you sure it's your computer and not your internet connection (I don't know how tech-savvy you are, so please don't take offense to my question)
To anyone having the problem with VideoStudio exporting a low-resolution WMV video file instead of a 1280x720 HD video, I have found a solution! You need to use the Custom export option, choose WMV format, then MAKE A NEW PROFILE for WMV HD format. I'm still working out the bugs though (YT didn't seem to recognize this file as HD--I must not have met one of their requirements). Message me for more info.
I have NOT disabled comments because occasionally one commenter may help another.

Thanks so much for the support so far.
Thanks for understanding, feel free to comment, just don't expect a reply from me.
Also, how do you zoom into one bit in the video, say if you made a video and you wanted to find a friend in the garden, and in the video you want to zoom in to where the other player was but also see you a bit?
Hey Nice Video! An excellent tutorial, although I have a problem. I use to record my videos, a camera called sony handycam. It records in hd, I use this editing program and when I make it a video file I click "same project settings" and obviously I will not get hd on youtube. (check my videos) type brokencrusader.
And so which one in the settings should I choose for hd if I have a sony handycam? WMV? AVCHD?
I'm having some trouble with this. When I try to export in WMV 720p format (my source file is 1920x1080), the rendered file ends up 208x160! The "create video" dialog box clearly indicates that rendered file should be 1280x720, so there must be something I'm missing. The project aspect ratio is set to 16:9. Any suggestions? I wish I could hear what you were saying in the vid.
Sorry Chris, I'm guilty of committing one of my own pet peeves--not reading through previous comments. It appears that many people are having this problem with the failed conversion to 720p. Do you have any updates from people who have resolved this issue? Also, do you know if it's possible to export an h.264-encoded MPEG with 1280x720 resolution from VideoStudio?
A suggestion: Maybe put a note about the problem many of us are having in the video info to avoid annoying comments like mine!
I know.. I uploaded this video with Linkin Park music at the beginning with the animation.
At the time, it was okay to do so but Warner Bros music (or whoever) backed out of their deal with YouTube and so they took down videos that, even at the time were okay to use music, now aren't down with them.
You have to either crop the bottom and top, as in, cut off some of the bottom and top of the video, or have some effect, as shown in part 3/4 and 4/4 behind the video.
Hey,mr.Chris,How do you do text like the one in your video? What do I mean is that, how do I edit the text like the one in the introduction time 0:01 to 0:24 please tell me what program to use...
I followed the tutorial exactly for a Video I am doing, 16:9 and WMV HD 720, Using Ulead VideoStudio. However the finished Video ended up 13mb in Size for an 8 minute Video, Watching it Via WM Player is Blocky and Ugly. I Don't know where i'm going wrong as I followed it step for step????
I try to do this but after exporting in WMV 720 the final file is in 200*180 and 4/3 not 16/9 like the project :s. Dont know what i do wrong. And how to chose audio device for capture??
Just for the tips, for user outside US like me in France, we have to setup youtube on worldwide. ENglish US, else if even with &fmt=22 we only have HQ not HD...
I tried uploading a little introduction thing for a video I am working on to test your work. The only thing that was different when you went to save the video, mine had "30p" instead of your 25. Not sure what this means, but we'll see if it works...
Hey, thanks so much for the info! I've been scouring the internet trying to figure out why I've been having such a problem with Ulead Video Studio and exporting in widescreen. Seems like it stays in rectangle but shrinks to fit 4:3.
I see you have after effects CS2, any suggestions as to where I can get a quote un quote "special" copy of that program? If you do, erase the tracks (this comment) and msg me.
Oh yea, a question. Any idea why particle illusion only works with certain AVI files?
In part 2 of your comment, I use CS4. I know that you are able to get SLIGHTLY cheaper prices if you look around. If you are in school or uni you MIGHT be eligible to get an education edition, it works out to about 1/3rd the price. I'm not really sure what you mean by "special" copy though.
I haven't messed around with uLead enough, it was horrible lol. Sorry
Well I found a way with sony vegas that made me a perfect quality video using 1080i, just using your info but finding it in vegas but like I said with 1080. So In a weird way your video helped me without any explanation of vegas
I'm still experimenting, but thus far the best quality I get is if I export the video as PAL DV 16:9...
I tryed the WMV HD 720 25p rout, and it made a tiny horrible quality video... So I don't know what's up with that... (Filmed in the 'widescreen' option on my Canon FS100).
I don't know about HD, but the PAL DV 16:9 option at least seems to make a decent widescreen video file... Thoughts?
I'm pretty sure the camera saves in an MPEG format... Not sure what exact codec unfortunately. It saves 2 files. A .MOD and a .MOI and I copy the .MOD file over and rename it to .Mpg so that Ulead will accept it. It seems to work fine for me...
Oh and I mispoke. I export into PAL DVD (16:9) not DV. The DV files are avi's that make 50mb files for 13 seconds of footage, and the DVD files come out at 11mb for the same.
I haven't tried uploading the avi PAL DV file, but the having just tested the mpg PAL DVD one, YouTube dislikes it significantly, and it comes out terrible...
What DID seem to work somewhat, was exporting to PAL DV (16:9) and then running it through your SUPER tutorial for HD. Which when using your HD settings, gave me High Quality.
If you go to my channel, I have the resulting uploaded video's there with titles indicating which is which.
I would suggest to go to youtube instead of using the ulead to youtube option, I believe that option lowers the quality down and you won't get the HD version
as long as you save it as WMV, 720 PC (or whatever that option was :P) it will have the HD link under the video (may take a few hours to appear) BUT, just make sure you edit your stuff properly before hand, you don't want it to stretch or anything.
I have to go to bed now, so don't expect another reply tonight, I'll be on tomorrow, but good luck anyway :)

What the differences uploading in wmv , avi or mov . say all are 1280 x 720 pixel,, and codec mpeg4, what will be the differences.. ????
pujaantarbangsa 2 years ago
Just quality and size, mpeg 4 tends to be higher quality at a lower file size, wmv seems to be lower quality at a higher file size.

Yep, for wide screen, you need a resolution of 480x270. For standard videos, you need 480x320.
Hope that helps, I recommend using a video bitrate of 640-800 for HQ.
