Lynn is not only a great singer--but a very gracious person, as well. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person at the Rice Auditorium here in Monmouth, about a year ago. She was doing a West Coast tour. So she performed a concert for about 1 and a half hours. Wonderful---wonderful!!! Afterward, as she was coming out to sign autographs, I went up to her, as she was coming out of the auditorium and asked if she would sign my 45R.P.M. of Rose Garden. She said: " Certainly!" And she did! Wow!!

This song is most excellent. I don't claim to know much about Country music, but I know what I like. ( Williams, Cline, Reeves, Cash, Ford, Waylon & Willie, Marty Robbins & The Statler Brothers leap to mind.) Much like Rock / Pop music, the best Country, (in my opinion) came from the decades 50s, 60's, 70's & 80's. Then the whole music industry took a downhill slide into mediocrity. It seems most Country today is Pop music w/ a twang. It's sad.

@Hopperdropper06 Beg to differ .. Lynn has said, ppl expect her to say "Rose Garden" is her favorite song (of her recordings), but she says "Rocky Top" is actually her fave. "Rocky Top" didn't come to national prominence until Lynn Anderson recorded the song. The Osborne Bros.'s recording, the first, was pretty much a regional hit only. Lynn Anderson was the first to make the song a NATIONAL hit, pre "Rose Garden" era. Just as, "Top of the World" was a #1 hit for HER prior to the Carpenters'
