Their is nothing wrong with grouping together with other youth in order to provide support for each other. The real issue that youth units often opt to get involved in criminal activity and untimately end up hurting each other and defeats the purpose of a gang. Imagine what difference yoouth units would make if they served to protect and empower. For example, to help each other attend college, survive in the hood, get jobs, stay out of jail, buy properties etc. Gangs simply need good leadership.
