  • May i ask how you go tpermission to play this song? i put a song by HSR on my FIRST youtube video and youtube won't let me use it.

  • my grand mother got all bent when she'd hear Jackie O

  • VERY COOL. TAKES ME BACK TO THE TOTALLY COOL EIGHTIES... LOVE IT....

  • Reminds me too much of an exact cross between Sparks and Television

  • When I was a young teen I bought this lp for Dad.... I figured I'd inherit it anyway ;)

  • i loved hearing this and jackie o on kroq in los angeles during the early 80's

thanks for posting :) love love love it

  • The Best

  • Saw their "final show" at the RAT Kenmore square...damn, seems like yesterday!

  • Wow!!! Heard this on cassette back in 1981, eighth grade..........cassette got eaten by player 3 weeks later.............first time hearing it since then...................thanx 4 da memories

  • Saw them at the Living Room, Providence, RI, then at Center Stage in East Providence, one night around 1982- great act! They did a lot of double bills with Providence, based, original acts like The Probers, Hi Beams, Schemers, ect

  • That sounds awesome. I too am from Providence and truley miss great venues like The Living Room.

  • I loved this album.

  • I still have this record on vinyl and CD and now on my Ipod. I listen to it really loud on the subway in NYC on the way to work. I knew Larry and Dini. He really did lick Betty Ford's boots, cuz he worked at Filenes and she bought them there. All great songs and great memories.

  • @8847191 me tooo - i play jackie o when i dj all the time - these guys rule.

  • @8847191 me too!

  • just going thru memories, and saw this band in newport and providend several times. Christmas song for me played by a local artist is their song "land of the glass pine cones'.. God bless HSR

  • the B-52's made it, and these guys didn't?? Why?

  • Ratdog, the answer is simple. Their lyics and stage peformace was to racy can and sexual for mainstream radio and kids. The b-52s are harmless. They (HSR) sometimes did "LIVE" simulated sex shows on stage. Lyrics like "I taste Vagina" really would not cut it in WPRO-FM! lol

  • The band I was in backed up the Humans at Jumbo's in Somerville. They ripped the roof off. Those were the best of times for the Boston music scene.

  • favorite band from 79 and early 80s saw them the first time at harpos in newport ri they were awesome

  • I got too see them at the !st Living Room Across the st. from Lupo's.

  • I saw that show. 1988 I think. I saw Sonic Youth at that venue the same year.

  • When I saw then it was the nieghborhoods

  • i seen them at The Space. umm...i was blown away!

  • This song is a great response to all those dumb tabloids with hysterical headlines about which celebrity is screwing which other celebrity.

  • How f--king cool IS THIS???!!!

  • it is great to see these songs posted they are classics that need exposure.

  • my grandmother used to get so bent when she would hear this song blaring from my bedroom. lol! - sorry grandma!

  • From a blog on Frank Stamm's myspace page:

"It's odd how some bands disappear from history and others go on to become generally regarded as some of history's best. Back in the early 80's, in the time when New Wave was big and CDs were only starting to replace the LP, the band Human Sexual Response really caught my attention. I bought their second LP ("In a Roman Mood") and was quite impressed. I feel it measured up to the best product of the age, which was quite good."

  • I first saw them at an orientation party at Boston University in 1980 very cool band and a great album.

  • I remember them doing "Land Of The Glass Pinecones" on Evening at The Improv--was it that show?

Anyway, a GREAT performance that sent me looking for that record. Always available in the cutout bin.

  • wtf

  • love the guitar break at 3:22. I love this tune. Once when I saw them, they came out in underwear, topless, with the girls having black tape "X-ed" over their nipples. Such a cool band.

  • Great song !!
