This song went to #1 on iTunes right after it was released. In fact, Cook had 4 top song on iTunes the day after--all 3 of his songs he performed on the finale & TOML. His digital downloads in 2 weeks right after A.I. finale was almost a million downloads (990,000). Not bad I'd say. Also charted 11 songs at one time on Billboard top 100. A record not seen since 1963 with Miley Cyrus having 6 at one time is the closest one. In total he had 14 songs that charted. I wish he was on A.I. again.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Like in the 2nd season with Clay & Reuben - both had great voices - it depended on voter's choice. Last season, my husband liked Archie, I liked Cook. Again, they were both fantastic - it was up to voter's choice. We didn't vote. In the end, I still listen to Clay and David Cook while my husband listens to OLD music. (I also listen to Kelly and Daughtery). Maybe it's because I'm not 50 yet... I still listen to kids. Apples to oranges, talent is talent.

These Archie fans are very immature. I personally think people are so fed up of them that they have in fact hurt Archie's career. They are all over the internet whenever there is some mention of Cook (slamming him, posting lies, etc.) and on YT.  I thought it would stop after awhile, but it hasn't. The thing is Cook and Archuleta are friends, they respect each other and they aren't even in the same genre so they aren't competing. There is room for more than one artist in the music world!!

The great thing about this performance by David Cook is that "Dream Big" was written as a country ballad for a female (as stated by American Idol voice coach in an interview following the finale). Cook changed the lyrics and redid the arrangement to give it the rock edge that you hear in this performance. Great job by a great artist and musician. The title of American Idol is well-deserved. Congratulations Mr. David Cook. I commend you for a job well done.

The judges don't vote. But if we are going by what they said, Simon said he hoped Cook would win, that Cook's music was what he would listen to. It seems to be more of what the voters wanted too. David Cook had 11 songs in the Hot 100 on Billboard the week after the finals. This has only ever been surpassed by The Beatles. David Cook is obviously the deserved winner.

David Cook won because because he was more versatile. All DAvid Archuleta did was sing ballads and when he tried a pop song the judges didn't like it. He was not risky and David Cook changed it up a lot. Dont get me wrong David Archuleta has an amazing voice and i think he even has a record deal, but Cook was the more talented performer.
