  • im getting this done this

    wensday i am only 14,

    can anyone give me advice

if so inbox me thank you.

  • Just had this done at Lahey, what a wonderful experience, nothing but happiness. In at 7am back in the hotel by 530pm, same day.

  • I had this done, so much fun

  • i am due to have it done on may 9th at hup startig to get nervous . i will let the you tube world know how i did if i dont die on the table

  • I had this procedure 10Mar11 at London University Hospital in Ontario, Canada. Some discomfort for three days afterwards. I am still on beta blockers (2 months) and Coumadin (3 months). They say I have a 70% chance of never having AF again if I remain AF free for the 3 month period. After 8 years finally a fix. I highly recomend London University. MY

  • I had this surgery for my SVT in 2000 when I was 14. It was a quick recovery and worked well for me. However, recently i have been having problems and am due to have it done again.

It all depends on the person but it is always a possibility another 'misfire' could happen and a decade seams to be indicative of when it is most likely to happen again if it dose.

  • My son had this procedure done at age 4. SVT diagnosed in utero. It was the best thing we could ever have done. The next day he was back to normal and have had no problems in the last 6 years. The procedure took 5 hours to complete

  • I was diagnosed with SVT and had this surgery when I was 16 in 2005. Best decision ever to make and I have never had any problems or any SVT-like symptoms since. No complications from the surgery at all. :)

  • i had this done in october.

i am doing very well, and participating in track this year.

i am happy that i had such an amazing doctor to get me throught it all & my family that came and was there for me.

if anyone out there is getting this done, it took about 5 hours to fix mine since it was close to the normal heart tissue that was imperative it didnt get touched. but i am doing very well, i was very nauseated afterwards but finally had something to drink and some food & was better after that.

  • I'm having this procedure done on Tues and am scared. I do know what to expect and know all the risks associated with it, but fear that it will not work for me and I will have to have a pacemaker put in. They tell me it is genetic and I inherited this from my fathers side of the family.

  • I had this done on Jan. 11, 2005 when I was 10 years old due to the fact we had discovered I was born with WPW, I was worried sick right before I had it because of all the side effects I had (or rather my mom had) been told about, but its really not that bad and has actually saved my life :)

  • im having this tommarow... for the 3rd time :(

  • @TNFSnipingPS3 Why for a third time?

  • I had this operation once in 2006. There was tachycardia involved in almost every physical exercise. They didn't find the cause but arrhytmias turned out to be harmless but nasty. Now i'm under medication and I've been taking bisoprolol every day since operation. Bisoprolol keeps symptoms under control.

This week, I've splitted the dose to 1.25mg and eventually I'm going to try to live without it. Of course I'll go back on medication if arrhytmia occurs oftenly.

  • My Mother has this tomorrow.

  • i gotta get this done cause cardioversion didnt work for me and im worried sick....in my opinion ablation that doesnt work with an icd/pacemaker already implanted means there is something else wrong with the heart like cardiomyopathy or mitral valve prolapse that will send the heart back into a-fib....hope your on warfarin

  • SleepyGargoyle sorry dud i know how ya feel ive had 4 abaltions and non worked and i was hospitalized like 6 times and had like 20 er trips so finaly had a dephibulaotr put in

  • I just have it on the 17th July 2010....

  • im 16, im getting one this thursday

  • im having this tomorrow :/

  • I had this done when I was 26. that was 3 years ago. I had SVT. I have not had any problems yet. Some occasional skipped beats when I have stress, but all is good so far.

  • I'll be having ablation #7 in 3 weeks.

  • My dad had this procedure three weeks later had a 4 centimeter tear in his heart that was bleeding since he had the procedure, he collapsed had signs of a stroke was bleeding out so they did open heart surgery to patch up the tear then had a stroke and lost the right side of his brain causing paraylsis on the left side of his body hes been in the hospital for over aa month now just got to rehab today.

  • My husband had to get one last month. Took a good 4 or so hours

  • I am having cardiac ablation done in less than 1 week, I am frightened, but hopeful. i have been dealing with A-fib BAD for almost 2 years, to the point that I have been put out and zapped twice in the ER to get my heart back to normal. Does this really work? My Doc says for me it will.

  • I had this because of AV Node Reentry Tachycardia, too. But it lasted 5 hours and I had *no* sedation at all. Talk about uncomfortable! SO worth it though.

MInd you, I had it in 1999, and now 10 years later, I'm having few episodes here and there again. :(

  • I'm having this procedure in just over a week from now. I won't be under anaesthetic like this person I'll just be given a sedative. I'm really scared about this procedure. I've had symptoms from a young child and kept going back and forth doctors but they just palmed me off saying I was 'stressed.' I ended up getting rushed to hospital 2 years back and they still sent me home saying it was 'stress' until again I got rushed in last year and finally got diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation.

  • Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation is dangerous and inneffective: Google "Adventures in Cardiology"

  • Had this done 3 times for SVT. no luck so far. problem areas are too close to the natural AV node :(. Not a bad surgery, outpatient usually. longest one I've had was 10 hours

  • I had it in 07. when i was 11. I got 4 days off of school. AWESOME! Recovery sucks though. I had to lay down for 4-6 hours.

  • me too.. i had it last year.. and i thnk i have to come back for another one this coming month...geez!

  • Had it 5 days ago for Afib and SVT. Some discomfort, but nothing some ibuprofen couldn't handle. Going back to work as a mail carrier in two days.

  • in three days will have it.

in Tel Ha Shomer Hospital - Israel

  • @kalina288 Good Luck!!! I'm having this done next week.

  • me to :/. two weeks. im 15.

  • I have to get this... =/

  • I had this done in February of 2009 (not due to a-fib, due to AV nodal reentrant tachycardia) and it was great! I wish I hadn't waited ten years.
