This was also used as the theme to Musikladen at the opening and the very end on the 13/11/74 episode. I had to recall it, the second time Musikladen used their theme tune at the end, then a 3rd time it was Mood Mosaic from its entire life.
@irichieburns1 i was wondering if that was Johnny on piano. Have u seen the Big Joe Turner videos on the Humphrey Lyttleton tracks Theres some great clips of Johnny. I was speaking with him last year (on fone) so i knew he was very ill. I met him in 1950s and was at the concert when they played with Sidney Bechet and a french band Andre Rewellioty, those were the great trad days!!
The pianist is Johnny Parker who played on Humph's recording of Bad Penny Blues. He was also in Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated and spent a couple of years with Monty Sunshines band. Vic Pitt on bass joined Chris Barber where he stayed for over 30 years before retiring last year. Kenny could play traditional jazz too rival anyone but did get a bit poppy in the 70's, but he had to adjust to make a living.
its not a requirment plus the song isnt even jazz its ragtime, a similar but diffrent form of music that is supposed to be played on just piano, granted they did a great job, but the original is better, in my humble opinion
Great performance !
