To all seeking help with opiates: You need to look into treatment with a drug called Ibogaine. Ibogaine is an addiction interruptor, not a maintenance drug like methadone or suboxone. I actually listened to Lou Reed while I was doing heroin and then one day I thought about methadone and I went through a year of that. Im detoxing off of it right now. I quit the old fashioned way got arrested trying to buy some then I missed court had a no-bond warrant for my arrest so then I got pulled over and had to detox cold turkey in Cook County Jail in Chicago. Was released when they found no probable cause for the cops to search me and wasted a 6 weeks in jail. Methadone sucks man look into getting on some suboxone. I feel an urge to use everyday and I can relate to the pains you feel. Best of luck.
I got into junk and with in 6 months a guy I used with overdosed and died, another got hep c. another fled the state when the cops busted his apartment. I still vividly remember waiting on the porch of that apartment, sick, pissed off and nervous, trying to get my guitar back when a guy comes up whose a friend of one of the junkies upstairs and hes coming to convince him to quit. we talked for a while on that porch and I quit. Its been two years with out dope or hard stuff.
I think I went down that path.I've been maintained on Methadone and Valium for over 24 years after a number of unsuccessful detoxes.I do not feel sorry for myself with regards to it; I hate that I ,too, am ruled by it and so many live in terror against their own control.I wish you well and hope one day we can just do it if we feel like it - not addiction!

I work with a lot of people who are addicted to drugs and they didn't plan on getting hooked. It starts off as a fun or social thing. A lot of these people have lost their families, houses, jobs, etc. to drugs.
I don't know, I did cocaine once. I can see people never wanting to be off it, makes you feel pretty amazing. Something I wouldn't try again because of how good it is.

I am watching this while withdrawing off oxycontin. Sucks man. Did heroin, have cleaned off that with methadone-then used heroin to kick methadone. Now fucking Oxy. Shit. Withdrawals suck.Whoever is reading this.Dont be stupid and think its cool.I assure you shitting in your pants and mucle cramps are not cool.Wondering when you will get the next hit. I actually listened to Lou Reed while I was doing heroin and then one day I thought about methadone and I went through a year of that. Im detoxing off of it right now. You probably have an idea of how I feel, right? My fucking legs are killing me. Im ready to run a marathon with my broken feeling legs. Its nice to talk to someone who's been there, ya know?

I quit the old fashioned way got arrested trying to buy some then I missed court had a no-bond warrant for my arrest so then I got pulled over and had to detox cold turkey in Cook County Jail in Chicago. Was released when they found no probable cause for the cops to search me and wasted a 6 weeks in jail. Methadone sucks man look into getting on some suboxone. I feel an urge to use everyday and I can relate to the pains you feel. Best of luck.

I got into junk and with in 6 months a guy I used with overdosed and died, another got hep c. another fled the state when the cops busted his apartment. I still vividly remember waiting on the porch of that apartment, sick, pissed off and nervous, trying to get my guitar back when a guy comes up whose a friend of one of the junkies upstairs and hes coming to convince him to quit. we talked for a while on that porch and I quit. Its been two years with out dope or hard stuff.

I think I went down that path.I've been maintained on Methadone and Valium for over 24 years after a number of unsuccessful detoxes.I do not feel sorry for myself with regards to it; I hate that I ,too, am ruled by it and so many live in terror against their own control.I wish you well and hope one day we can just do it if we feel like it - not addiction!

Saw Lou doing this song back in 75 and 76 in Sydney. I stopped being a junkie in 86 and am very happy to leave it back there. Sober is much more fun. Liver transplant last year and am happier and full of more life than ever.

Jim snorted heroin in Paris causing his death.
Do a little research. He died in a bathroom at a club in Paris on the toilet. The bathtub/home scenario was staged.(they took him home and staged the whole mysterious B.S. story) Either he thought it was coke or whatever and snorted too much. Regardless, it is a moot point to debate the fact that Jim was a prodigious poly-substance abuser.

I feel the same way. I'm 17, talk to me if you want to. I started using just before I was 16 and now I have to have a hit before I go to school in the morning.
I don't look like a junkie, I do fine in school. When I use life is so much better, I'm nice to everyone, nothing can hurt me, days just fly by.

I work with a lot of people who are addicted to drugs and they didn't plan on getting hooked. It starts off as a fun or social thing. A lot of these people have lost their families, houses, jobs, etc. to drugs.
