and I am not a hater, I really want to buy something like this and stop lugging around my heavy rig...
but to my ears its really sounds sterile... sorry
I would recommend to companies like this that they put some tubes into the hardware like the old digitech 2101 ->2120 series...which has great digital effects plus the tube harmonics and warmth... ıf these gents had a tube happening then those models vintage amps would really sing.
@awesomejohnnet ya guitar rig 3 sounds sterile. but guitar rig 4 buzzes like hell its really annoying. look at my videos. notice there is that annoying buzz? all thx to guitar rig 4
@thedevo01 It's not a synth, it's an FX. You can play right into it live, or take a clean guitar sound, sequence that in a piano roll and then drop Guitar Rig on it. Just in case this question's still open.
i use the ni interface through usb,or you could use a line6 interface but direct in probably wouldnt have good results unless you have a firewire or another good soundcard installed,hope this info can help

Can I use the Native Instruments Guitar Rig VST as a synth that I could program/sequence in the piano roll of my DAW?
Or the way it works is you plug your guitar in your soundcard (or computer) and it adds effects to what you're playing?
