    It's a vibrator.

  • have you ever ran this bike to its top speed and if so what was it???

  • >touge242

Well maintained the bike is not a bad choice, but you need to know the weak points.

    Thanks for your comment.

The Smith-type gauge's design is originated in GB.

    >sartoriusrock

Since original carbs did not work well, I changed to the vm34.

The VM carbs do not make a drastic change.

    However, they work well (^.^)v.

  • has the vm34 carb affected your performance at all?

  • Beautiful bike, video, and countryside! It is great to get the driving perspective for "keeping to the left or 'proper' (as the British say) side" of the road. The guages, I assume, read right to left as opposed to left to right due to "right hand drive" specifications of the country of sale?

  • i dont know the word for it but where you read your kmph???never seen that! its like upside down..

  • so I'm wondering. how bad of an idea is this as a first bike?

  • >Mrtriumphchopper

    I appreciate your kind comment.

  • Did someone say "chop it"? Please, please don't! Much too nice to be molested. Looks and sounds beautiful just as is.

  • >uncutsquid

Although it's your wrong side, but it's a correct side in our country.

  • Oh my gosh, you're on the wrong side of the road!

  • Atenção já esta na rd350 atenção ##@&&*¨%%23551000.

  • >Scrapheap71

Because it is a traffic law in our country.

Anyway, thanks for your comment !

  • Awesome bike! I'm jealous! but why do you ride it on the wrong side of the road?? X-P X-D :-D

  • >diabhal

  • @WaBud420

    NOOOO!!! Don't chop it!!!!!

  • >YukikazeShikanosuke

    Thanks for your comment.

Because I replace the panel of gauges.

Please read my answer to SuperFancyketchup.

  • いい音です。

    ところで、メーターが逆さまなのは何故なのですか?

  • >Znabb

Thanks for your watch of my video and your comment (^.^)v

  • @650verticaltwin

I would also like to mention that I "borrowed" your waist bag camera mounting technique on a 7000km ride through Europe with my '68 Honda CB450 this summer and it worked great. Again, thank you for sharing. :-)

  • @Znabb

    Thanks for your kind report.

It's my pleasure for the mounting application.

Please show us your trip video with the mounting.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • awesome ride! i really enjoyed it!!

  • >2048JB

Thank you so much for your words of praise.

  • Yup, I agree. This is one of the best riding videos I've seen of the XS650. Wind noise was minor, and the engine's great sound came through. Camera was very well situated/aimed and gave viewers a very real feeling of the ride and the feel of the bike on the road, curves and all. This video was a excellent job. JB, N. IL., USA

  • >Cowplunk

Thanks for your comment and questions.

I used panasonic LX3 mounting on gorrilapod for this video.

The tripod was wound on a waist bag.

  • This video looks great, and the sound is not bad at all. You can actually hear the engine over the wind noise. What kind of camera did you use, and how was it mounted? Those gauges are trick, BTW.

  • >thedanned

Thank you for your comment (^_^)v

  • What a beautiful road, and bike!

  • >SuperFancyketchup

The gauges were replaced from originals to those of SR400 with Smiths-type panels.

When I changed the panel stickers,

I also replaced the stopper needle on the panels and indicator needle positions

    putting on the center needles

to the correct zero places of the smiths-type panels.

Thus the gauges display correct running and rotational speeds.

  • How did you get your gauges to look upside down?

  • >TheBONZOID

Thanks for your warm comment !

  • Good vid! Nice XS, love the paint, front disc & caliper mod.

  • Think God, a xs that wasn't butchered into a ( never leave town bobber)

  • @oldspam well u are right u cant travel with a bobber but boy they look mean!!! :)

  • >leoncito2799

    Thanks for your comment. (^_^)/

The sound of the video is not so good,

because the video was taken by commact digital camera with monaural sound.

Although the another uploaded monochrome video with stereo sound taken by pocket video cam was much better, the sound contained noises...

I am now trying to take a video with noiseless sound.

I hope I can show you a new better video in a tunnel near the future.

  • I agree with CountryHouseGent, what a fantastic video, great bike, great roads, great ride. You teased us going through the tunnel at the end, give it a hand full, I want to hear that twin roar! I think with that gorgeous sound in my ears, it would take me a while to get bored blasting through that tunnel! That my friends is about as good as motorcycling gets, thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for your kind comment. (^_^)/

  • What a fantastic video. Very well filmed. Great camera angle.

Why hasn't there been any more comments?
