Both were equals in the songwriting craft. The problem is that because Lennon died tragically some people tend to think that he was greater. He was great but not greater than Paul, they were just meant to write together.

paul had trouble writing serious songs, and while he may be a part of PETA, his songs never dealt or helped with any sort of charitable matter, paul never meant to make the world a better place with his music, he just wanted to have fun, his songs are just supposed to be fun, where as john was deeply concerned for the wellfare of our planet, and he intended to do everything he could to help the world with his music. so it's hard to say if one was better because they both had different motives.

Martin Luther King,Jr. knew what violence was, he experienced it firsthand and his followers too. He was incarcerated, beaten, and finally shot and he really did change the world we live in.
