She is brave - I admire that. But she is an idiot if she walks to two mentally unstable (normal people don't start gunfight in streets) people WITH GUNS trying to convince them in something.
Since the case has ended the father has resumed his custody and has his son the majority of the time. He is an unbelievably good father! The boy is nearly 4 and on his way to becoming a pro athlete. They attend church regularly and have done more together in his few years than most kids do in a lifetime! He is the most privileged and well rounded child you would ever know. His intelligence, discipline, manners, skills, and talents are far beyond his years.
The bf was never charged with a crime (no facts on why, only educated assumptions) Per family court he is not allowed around the child which ended his relationship to the mom but they still keep in touch. His wounds healed and he later received a separate gun charge.
The mother's leg injury healed after several surgeries.
The parents have counseled their issues and are successfully raising a well rounded child in 2 separate homes, dealing with the normal issues surrounding this difficult task.

The best information I have on that is from the girl we interviewed. Apparently she was right there as the shooting took place. She seems to indicate who went for the gun first, however she doesn't really tell us clearly who shot first.

Do I mean to assign any blame on the dad for being there? I would question either his motives or sanity for having done so.

yeah, its great to see things in their rawest form like this, its hard to ever say that something is unbiased or uncut as we all have a different perspective on things and how we pass them on to others, but the major media forces always put some kind of spin on or have an agenda behind their reporting. Hi Flippy. I was there for the aftermath. I avoid situations while gun play is still in progress. The expression on his face just before he stands up tells the story. He didn't have a clue about how much trouble he was in until the police told him. His face goes white & his jaw drops. Did you see the end how all the cops surrounded the guy when they stood him up.
Fist & guns are not solutions. He learned the hard way. It'll be years before we hear from that guy again.
A number of you have asked for a follow-up report to the Lexington Gun Fight I taped last night. Particularly regarding the wounded. I have confirmation that all three victims are recovering. The baby's mother was shot in the foot and the child was unhurt. Both men have been treated, one released and arrested. The other man is expected to recover as well and also has charges pending.
