Okay, for all the people who are dissing this guy. First off, it could very well be his first time at Spa. Have any of you ever driven a race track before? One tends to be quite slow on the first session.

Second, this is a car worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'm sure you wouldnt drive it balls out either unless you were completely confident in your abilities.

The bus stop chicane was as legendary as Eau Rouge, they totally ruined it, like they ruined Hockenheimring, Imola (Tamburello could've just been re- paved and protect the wall, they also ruined the aqua minerali curve, and variante bassa) the new F1 circuits have no character :-(

The chicane was changed about 4 years ago to the current setup. He enters the new chicane at 4:21. I personally don't like it but they changed it to aid in pit entry and promote passing. Didn't help.

ford just really isnt into that space in terms of racing at least since the ford gt but thats just my personal opinion if ford want to go head to head with ferrari im sure they wouldnt have a problem if they did it 40 years ago im sure they could do it again but thats only if they want to

@F1ferrari09 hard to say, 40 years ago racing was totally different and Ford basically handed a blank cheque to the best designers in the world and asked them to make a car that could compete with ferrari. I think it could be done but its no secret that most American cars are Heavy and not so agile. Ferrari manage to make a very nicely balance car with good power and good maneuverability. I just havent seen much change in terms of the american muscle changing though so its tough to say.

This is not always the case anymore. The Saleen S7 was not more than 2800lbs. I'm sure the racing version was even lighter. The GT Malan is no more than 2300lbs (this car even beat a Gumpert Apollo in a braking contest by a whopping 25 feet). And the Mosler Mt900 is no more than 1900 to 2200lbs.

@nuirueu: Thats not completely true. The 1960s Ford GT40 race car was designed by Ford's british division. But the current day Ford GT was jointly designed by Ford and Saleen, the interior was done by Ford SVT, most if not all of them were painted by Saleen. The chasis may come from a british company, but its setup was done by Ford.

ha the fastest chevy can't even keep up with the slowest gt and mustang has gone more towards a show class not race class vehicle but the Mustang GTR can kill any camaro with ease! chevy eh the only one i like is the 69 camaro ss and i only like it for looks. in the event of safety i don't trust chevy at all cause they have poor body frames and they aren't as reliable nor aerodynamic!

Get real dude. Chevy has had far better safety ratings than Ford, for years their cars have been lighter, faster and longer-lasting than Fords have been. Prime example: My TA sits at 100k miles right now with plenty of hard driven miles. My father's Saleen S281 has 38k on it and it has broken down at least a dozen times. Electrical problems, fuel system problems, valvetrain problems... The list goes on! Every Ford he has ever owned has been that way. Even my buddy's camaro I sold him sitll runs!
