Too bad the Senators' only AL pennants came during the early part of the 20th Century, 1924, 1925 and 1933. They only had one World Championship team, when they won the World Series in 1924. Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson retired from baseball in 1927. He was born in Brea (Orange County), California and went to Fullerton High School, near where I lived in Anaheim. His record of most strikeouts ever held for 60 years or so till Nolan Ryan broke the record.
Not a bad song! Check out Tim and Tom Butler dancing at Tao Beach, some vids here and by typing "guy's dancing at tao beach" in the search boxes. Tom's version of She Bangs is also getting some rave reviews...
Nicely done. I've got a few of the same old baseball cards. When I was a kid in Los Angeles, Channel 9 had the Million Dollar Movie and ran the same film every day for a week. Baseball crazy that I was at the time, I know these songs. Thank you.

I live and die by the Tigers, but I always felt sorry for Senators fans, especially after the team moved to Minnesota and four years later won the pennant...
Me, too. I still remember the horror and disappointment of the Senators decamping for Minnesota in 1960. And then, after a 34-year interval, the then-'mayor' of Washington wouldn't allow the new team to be called the Senators because WashDC isn't a state and doesn't have a senator. I say, the hell with baseball.

The hell with baseball because their name is the Nationals? Thats what they were officially known as until 1957.
no, you are wrong. the reason the team didn't have the senators name is because the texas rangers (formerly the second edition of the washington senators) still have the name owned and trademarked.
Yeah, DC may have the "current" major leaguers, who call themselves the Nats, but, to me, anyway, the true Nats were, and still are, the Senators - both versions.
Thanks for the posting! Love those 1959 baseball cards. Must have bought a thousand cards that summer hoping to get Harmon Killebrew and never did! Ramos, Pascual, Killebrew, Allison, Lemon and the rest. Loved those guys!
What a great Christmas present! I grew up watching the expansion Senators and Tom Brown was a graduate of my high school. I even have a Senators tattoo on my chest. I have pictures taken with two of these guys,Russ Kemmerer and Julio Becquer. Thanks for the memories!
A tip of the cap from a Brewers fan--nice work! (But where's Don Lock and his eyebrows? <;-) )
As a Green Bay Packers fan, it was fun to see Tom Brown, who had tough sledding for the '63 Senators but who went on to play in the NFL and make the game-ending interception that sent the Pack to the 1st Super Bowl.
Beautiful. And the ultimate irony, of course, is that that they haven't done much better in more than 50 years as the Minnesota Twins.

I was surprised to find that out when I put this together. You'll see that on a few of the baseball cards.

I never knew that. Makes you wonder why they would own the name and trademark and not use either.

@senator9870 love the Senators but remember the sportswriters using the term Nats often in the paper...I still have that red pennant...
