  • So i can go in Airport and to stole a Airplane and bring that home with my Touareg?

  • whats with the plane. why it has two engines on one pylon and fuel tanks on the other? weird 747

  • Ballshit

  • i think the car will flip up from the back without the 4.3 ton balast..:)

  • now reverse it

  • OK this is impressive but doesn't it just show the engine in the car is pointless? There's nothing you're going to tow with it to need that torque and even if you did you couldn't because you wouldn't get traction. Completely pointless.

  • Why does he keep calling it a Twareg its a Touareg! id like to see them try pull an Airbus A380!

  • @roryj123ok why not a anatov 225 much bigger!! biggest plane ever

  • @111thomas111 Its not anywhere near as known or as popular

  • @roryj123ok why its not known for you is that you are a little boy. its bigger.LMAO

  • @111thomas111 ask anyone who is not a plane nerd and they will have never heard of it dumb ass...

  • @111thomas111 It would help to spell "Antonov An-225" correctly though. :-P

(Wow, that'd be another 100 tons heavier..)

  • @roryj123ok Because that is how it should be pronounced .

  • @maninthecab T-O-U-R-A-E-G not Tw

  • Why didn't Stig do this instead of 5th Gear.. It is on Top Gear Test Track..

  • I don't know Where to park my Boeing 777!

  • حاس ان في خدعه

    مستحيل

  • Try towing an antonov 225 mriya

  • the fun part of this is that the track is the Top Gear track.

You can se the 747 in most of Top Gears powerlaps.

  • @pym480 I think it isn't, because, the plane on the top gear track, as far as i could see has his engines on 1 wing not against each other, so therefore I think it's a different one, i could be wrong, but I think I'm not :p

  • @pym480 LOL!!!! ^^ well, it is an old plane runway.

  • bahhh my smart car can tug an a380

  • only 5 liters can do that :O

  • so boring fifth gear

  • This is not an ordinary 747.

The four engines are coupled and it has two extra fuel tanks.

Anyway it's empty, no passangers or cargo; still it's a remarkable achieve...V10 is very powerful.

  • @Mokhas45 you mean it has plenty of torque :D

  • Just bought my wife one last night and saw this top gear clip, I wonder if they'll let us try this at Norfolk International lol

  • the plain is probably made of cardboard...

  • Eh. it doesn't take much to get the 747 rolling, and barely anything to maintain a speed of 2 mph....Its like pulling a very large boat.

  • @TopGunMan on flat ground to boot. but still this will sell these things to those whom are not sure yet

  • That touareg is actually gorgeous, with the optional wheels, and that gorgeous exterior blue... I'm in love!

  • Pity it's on the Top Gear test track...

  • Comment removed

  • It is incredible!

  • Fake, serial clutch would not survive.. NO FUCKIN' WAY! start must have been supported, or almost whole drivetrain of this car was extremly modified.

  • @Hayawaho Ur A Dumbass. Its In The Guinness World Records Book,Or Buy One For $50,000 And

Rent A 747-400 And Try It Yourself.

  • the presenter is an idiot, therefore fifth gear is rubbish

  • Haha torque converter is trash now I don't even want to know how those Lug nuts felt...

  • TOUAREG POWERRR !!!!!

  • 4:50 o.0 he pulls the 747:D very nice engine(the most powerful engine that has been made for car)very nice suv

  • @Trainlover300 yes it could. easy. Antonov 225 weighs less only 1 ton more than the 747-200(the one that's on the video)

  • Fake!

  • gearbox is fucked

  • Don't you just ahte it when people tow 747's with their Touaregs in a busy highway?

  • @khmergod Yeah I god darn hate it, those hill billies towing their 747's around a busy block on a monday mornin'!!

  • wtf wow

  • It's cause its a diesel. :P

  • I belive because i have the same car

  • My ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

    Big Liar!

  • What is size engin

  • Which model 747 is this? ive never seen one with engine mount like that.

  • @BJWTF That is a modification made for a movie. It doesn't really work. It's just set dressing. That aircraft doesn't fly anymore. It's a retired BA Aircraft.

  • @BJWTF This is the adapted 747-200 in the Bond film Casino Royal. It was referred to as a "Skyfleet 570".

  • how do you mean some power?.... this is way better than a hummer, this is pure!!

  • lol @ 0:21

  • Touareg can pull annovolt 225?

  • @11myedu Probably. Things that don't exist tend to be fairly light weight.

  • @soccermomd00d nice.! xD

  • Germans rules the auto industry

  • i want one lol, but seriously we may get one second hand haha. Our old ML is starting to get well a bit old......

  • This video should be called:

    "How to steal a 747" :D

  • I am interesting in those engines from 747. I didnt seen at any another 747. Only at this.

  • @smrad85 Its empty nacelles. Ya the front turbofan compressor blade is there, but theres no gas turbine behind it. This is the same plane they used in Top gear when jeremy towed it with the tractor. And it is the same plane they used in casino royale, its a prop set really, the plane was originally a 200 series, at this stage it's more or less scrap, just survived because it is a fantastic prop unit.

  • Bad ass.

  • now try and stop it

  • @FORDGTFANATIC You didn't watch the whole video did you?

  • Think that it's more impressive with the harvester. That was on a field. This is on flat tarmarc with large tyres.

  • why are the engine placements so fucked up they arn't spaced

  • @KartKing4ever Ive seen pictures of this frame transporting other engines underwing and Im sure there were other reasons for podding both engines together like that, only 747 ive seen that way

  • NICE!

  • now thats what i call towing capacity

  • WTF is the track starting at 3:10 , I have been after it for ages, someone must know its used on nearly all epic films!!!!!!!!!

  • Casino Royal modificated 747.

  • meh a ford f450 superduty or a ford f550 or chevy durmax diesel could out two a toureg

  • @Scotty6211 no shit but there not a small family suv are they...

  • @TheJoshy1992 well no but if you wanna haul somthin you wanna go for the big boys like if you get the 4 doors you could fit 6 people in the truck

  • @Scotty6211 but its big and bulky what this car does is offer the things in a big car but make it a really nice family car that is easy to drive etc

  • VW = Very Well :D

  • Germans build the best.

But here in America we have multiple trucks that would do this too.

    Go Germany!

  • If the man can push the plane why is it surprising that a car can tow it?

  • @Desmonddd2002 we should put u to push the plane then

  • In soviet russia........we are unable to make a car or plane decent enough to rival this :L

  • in germany the plane doesn't pull the car, the car pulls the plane!

  • german power!

  • 1531

  • Fords top number for towing is only 7 tons dude. U would need to get about 20 f-650s and then they could pull it

  • @sheikra10001 - not necessarily. It's all about gearing. Also, that towing rating keeps in mind reasonable acceleration, braking, and speed while towing on public roads - and while towing a 747 with a production SUV is impressive, it's not something that would be considered reasonable on public roads at average speed limits. You'd destroy your brakes trying to stop something with that much momentum, and destroy your torque converter trying to get it up to speed at any reasonable rate.

  • @sheikra10001 that is right

  • now try pulling the new airbus before bmw does it!

  • Holy shit!

  • yeah thats no 747 but it isn´t 745 too... i searched this plane but cant find the name of this it looks great i wnat to fly in my fsx XD yes we are greatest invitors ever GERMANY forever

  • TOP GEAR TEST TRACK AND COMPOUNDS

  • 2011 Touareg TDI is MINE!

  • the boing 745 is the biggest boing

  • The plane must be heavy but not the same weight as a normal Boeing 747 as the engines on this particular one are fake. They where fitted when the plane was used as a prop for the James Bond film Casino Royale. It is still stored at Dunsfold aerodrome, you can see it in the background on top Gear when they use the test track.

  • @Martinfreekie its the 745 not 747. the guys is a bit not informed

  • @Martinfreekie just kidding im stupid

  • talent şi stiiil, mare şukărime de talent şi stiiiil

  • Let me educate everyone really quick. First the tractor at the airport used to push these back weighs more than 40,000lbs, even though it looks small. And yes they are tractors not a family SUV. Second no most vehicles will not do this, the frame of most vehicles, even this are not designed to pull that kind of weight. Look at tow ratings on most vehicles they are there for a reason. If you exceed the maximum towing capacity you run the risk of destroying the tranny, frame and brakes.

  • that IS crazy

  • top gear is better!

  • you could do that with pretty much any car. it's just the rolling resistance, not the weight that matters. you don't need massive torque or horsepower. just good clutch, or in this case, a good automatic tranny

  • The Germans always make good stuff

  • @FancyUnicorn nazis?

  • @xboxrider360 Shamwows

  • @FancyUnicorn not at all ;)

  • i wonder how it would compare with a H2 HUMMER??

  • At least the VW wont get you flipped-off in traffic.

  • well by the time you would start with a full tank and went a foot it would run out of gas

  • Probably worse, the H2 has a gas-powered V8 with very little low-end torque as compared to a V10 diesel...

  • I would love to see a VW Touareg trying to tow a FULLY LOADED Boeing 747 - that is, a 747 full of passengers, crew, luggage, fuel etc.!! Maybe it could try towing a larger plane like an A380 or an Antonov An-225!!!!!!!!!

  • It will easily tow two Antonovs. Did you ever look at the car that tows plains in airport? Its small as hell, looks like a forklift. Plain was made to fly so its big but not heavy.

  • @zelibober. I find it heard to believe something small can move something that big. How is it done? As for heavy - a fully loaded Boeing 747 weighs about 400 tons!! I don't think the VW Touareg can move 400 tons? An Airbus A380 or Antonov 225 are even heavier when fully loaded!!!!!

  • Did i ever said some thing about fully loaded plains? I was talking about plains (regular plains) Its big but its light also. Its made from light metals. So it will tow any plain for sure.

  • Damn it, Germans can build really nice cars which can hold together for a long period of time!!! I really respect you guys!!

  • VW for the win..

  • Not even a real 747 aircraft. It's engines aren't placed that close together and they don't have underwing fuel pods either. This thing looks more like the prop used for that "Skyfleet" plane in Casino Royale.

  • @scaremenga Of course it is; do your research. Just a 747-100 that has been modified, most probably a VIP/private use aircraft. Check the tail #/Reg and you can confirm it.

  • No, that would be a 747-200. Note the window layout on the second floor. Also, why is a modified Boeing 747-200, or any other series for that matter, equipped with GEnx engines? Or nacelles with chevrons on it? A private person would not be able to buy a 747 and equip whatever engine he so chooses in that arrangement. Didn't have to do my research because I already know.

  • top gear copy rights... ;-)

  • Pretty much the same car, but i prefer the Audi Q7 for looks

  • "Why?".. why would we put a Touareg to tow a 747? Anyway... CO0O0oL!

  • So bare with me. It's about to get complicated. When you engage low ratio gearbox mode, the gears turn slower when you apply the same amount of engine power. So what you actually get is more torque. There isn't much I know about off roading or towing but I know one thing that is important for towing and that is: get as much of torque as possible.

Go ahead and think about that, AntiPirateSquad. Mister I'm all fired up like an einstein todler and leave the sorting out bussiness for what it is :D

  • I somehow feel for the car. Poor car. And btw sorry to say it but that is an annoying presenter

  • Let's just get this sorted once and for all....

Low ratio for towing? Har har har.... Low ratio doesn't mean Low GEAR!!!!!

What the car expert on the car expert video meant to say was HI RATIO for towing.... e.g. Low gear.....

So, lots and lots of crank turns in relation to drive shaft turns ...allowing the engine to work at higher revs at a slower speed....

    Dohh, geddit right 'expert' :P

  • Now you sound like a big shot trying to sort this out once and for all, if you may let me handle it for once and for all though, you will admit you've made a terrible mistake.

Low Ratio doesn't mean low gear, your right about that. Low Ratio means that de gears in the transmission are on a lower ratio than normal, which means that the wheels turn slower in low ratio mode. This concept is actually meant for off road use.

    (Further explanation on next comment)

  • Didn't some guy in Taiwan pull a 747 with a chain tied to his crank...? I think this 747 bit has been over-done. I think the very first time was like 30 years ago, when somebody pulled one, with their teeth, I think that's in the gueiness book.

  • It has fake engines. And other parts missing. Still impressive, but wrong to claim it is an actual 747 as we know them.

  • 3:12 :X Awesome !

  • I was in the cafeteria at college and at one point when the Touareg was towing the Boeing like everybody in the cafeteria was looking and some of us had our mouths open :))

  • german engeenering^^

  • @atze0503 id still take an F-650 or even any super duty ford over this...bet they can easily pull or carry more than this and hence their ubiquitous use for such things.

  • @FearOfTheFlesh oh ok redneck go sell you bullshit somewhere else

  • @VR6Bosnjo redneck? You are the American not me lol...if anything you would be the redneck..sorry that I like your country's crappy cars..you are right...american cars are shit sorry for giving you a moral boost.

  • @FearOfTheFlesh

    Ignorant.

  • @TheNewMrCool american

  • @FearOfTheFlesh

Always has to fall on personal levels, not vehicles huh? Oh wait, your channel says you're from fucking CANADA. LMAO.

  • @TheNewMrCool your comment was: ignorant, at least don't be a hypocrite if you are going to reply.

  • @TheNewMrCool you are a moron or can't read. I told someone that I liked the american fod trucks, he called me redneck but he is American, so I replied oh you're right american cars are crap. You jumped in without reading into the context, and I'm ignorant...

  • @TheNewMrCool The irony of an American who can't read 2 posts to get the context of the comment calling me ignorant is helarious....Then again after your comment I knew I probably shouldn't regard your comments too highly...

  • @FearOfTheFlesh

Three posts were necessary? Someone sure got mad.

I don't really care if you were being sarcastic or not. The comment was ignorant, as is your view of "Americans".

And I called your comment ignorant, not you. That's not personal and thus not hypocritical.

    Calm down.

  • @TheNewMrCool It was sarcasm like you said which I am sure you are now aware of after reading the conversation that was there. You can't call a comment taken out of context ignorant. It's like calling the bomb squad when you tell them you thought some drink was great, and they reply: ya that was the bomb.

  • @FearOfTheFlesh CANADIANS ARE FAGGOTS. YOU ARE RETARDED. I beat the shit out of a canadian this summer and it was the best thing I had ever done.

  • @s2klover2000 If that is the "best thing" you had ever done then you live a pretty pathetic existence.

    Here is the breakdown:

    1) guy1 says american cars rock 2) guy2 says they suck 3) guy1 tries to explain with points why guy2 is wrong 3)guy2 starts going ape shit 4) I go in saying relax and that guy1 has a point and i back up some 5)guy1 tells me im wrong 6)I sarcastically tell him that they must suck then 7) you + 3 others go ape shit getting involved as classic youtube trolls<-understand?

  • @FearOfTheFlesh Yeah I didn't actually pay attention to the conversation. It was a joke.

  • wow this guy is as strong as a Touareg xD

  • what a nerdos.... LOOK @ TOPGEAR!!! they used a old kever xD

  • this b747 is the same one used by top gear when it is shown in the power laps, it was also used as an British Airways fleet

  • that's vw power

  • some guy pulled a 747 with his ears!

  • This reminds me of the basic physics of a man pulling a locomotive train. Once you get anything rolling, you can tow it. I'm not saying it can go uphill.

I'm told it's actually easier to push something than to tow it.

  • is very funny the end

  • epiccc

  • hows that?

  • Look at the engines at the boeing 747?

    isn´t that wrong?

  • I was about to point that out, that's certainly an odd looking Jumbo.

  • nope. 747-xxx for james bond casino royale.

    they modded a decommissioned BA 747-200 (G-BDXJ)

  • O_O..........HOLY.........SHIT.

  • I was looking for this video... but I tought it was a v12 tdi audi q7.that will pull this very fast

  • update on my post!! from whatr other posters have said it is a movie prop plane for the film Casino Royale. If this is true then it is stripped of engines and electronics and about everything else. it must be close to half wieght of a usable plane.

  • This was filmed at Dunsfold Park.

That's where the Top Gear test track is!

  • looks fake to me, Boeing never made a 747 wilh two engines on one pod and the windows on the upper desk are wrong also the rear of the engines are not correct also. I would love talk to the producer of the show and actually see the supposed jet they used

  • Now that you say that same here i didnt think about till i seen what you put here.

  • To my mind of course vw is the best. They made the best and biggest thinks in the worlds of engines.

    srry for english:)

  • Q7 V12 is better. 1000Nm yeah

  • why put that in a vw?

  • hahaha! That's friggin awesome! I love 5th Gear!

  • I'm almost sure a 6.7L Dodge Ram Heavy Duty would be able to do that.

    350hp, 650lbs ft tq.

Although 4.3 tons of ballast in that VW was impressive
