Good film, expands on the capabilities of the individual tanks and vehicles and the characters of Rex, Cody and Ventress.I like the ultra sharp, dark features of Dooku, he's well translated to the animated world, and the storyline is okay.Battles are good, fight scenes aren't bad, but they tend to be one-handed combat lightsabre duels which come across a bit clumsy and unskilled in the animation.Overall it's a good film but the new series blows it out of the water for diversity and action
The Clone Wars Rules! It's the most awesomest thing I've ever seen! I've loved star wars since I was six and my brother and I can't get enough of it! The droids are funny the jedi are cooler and Anakin & Ahsoka are my heroes! I am a total geek about star wars! @blushadow08 Ventress doesn't just suddenly show up. If you saw the cartoon clone wars that was made a few years ago it would make sense. And it's Ahsoka not Ahsoki. I personlly think the droids are hilarious and it's cool that the clones have different personalities because you can look the same on the outside but be different on the inside like with identical twins. And I think they make Anakin way cooler than in the movies. It's ok that u don't like it but other people might enjoy it.

I know someone who really liked the show/ movie but once season 2 came out he totally lost interest. I'll get into a debate with him a lot. But guess what he said the 2 Zilo Beast episodes? It were lame! But I thought it was really funny how the Zilo kept trying to eat the Chancelor. My brother and I kept shouting eat the chancelor the entire time!

I would have been happy with the zillo eating and then chuckin him back up! I loved the part when the zillo busted through that sign with chancellor on it. And yeah if the chancellor was eaten Anakin wouldn't turn evil, Padme wouldn't have died, Luke and Leia would have both been jedi and would have lived a normaler life, and the Skywalkers wouldn't have broken up!

When i wennt to see the movie in the thearter i was expecting that george lucas would make the usaull five star block buster movie but it was a bit of a drag terrible story too much action and it was animated not ur usaull lucas movie any way id give it four out of five stars

2nd thing was the gay Hutt. I really was anoyed because a Hutt is a bad ass criminal with lots of power. And what was that? A homosexual with a couple of droids...

I had a tear in my eye when I watched Clone Wars movie, star wars seemed ruined. But this new Clone Wars TV Series is far better, and I like it alot. Plus how much of a success TFU was, I think George Lucas is again redeeming himself.
I thought the movie was okay. The plot didn't completely hook me but I liked the action with the good old-fashioned laser blasts and lightsabers. But hey, what else would a Star Wars nerd like me want? I'd give it a 7.5 overall.
Dreadful. Lucas has lost Star Wars. Just hired it and turned it off after an hour. I can only take jedi deflecting lasers for that long. Pile of shite.
Over all, I LOVED IT! It was so cool! I'm a TOTAL Star Wars geek, and I love the new addition, Ahsoka Tano. She is now my favorite character in the entire Star Wars franchise!
Clone wars was one of the best star wars movies I've seen mostly because I'm a huge comidie fan and this movie was F-u-n-n-y! Great cgi and action secens the onlt thing I didn't like was they used barley any of the original voices. I give this a 9 out of 10

saw the movie, far from the real movies (which are awesome) -- I wish Lucas would make a spinoff series on like the next generation -- Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo who turns into Darth Caedus, etc. That'd be kinda cool. Overall, the Clone Wars I would give about 3/5 stars -- it wasn't a bad movie, but it was a bit far from what I had expected. It's a little bit on the kiddy side, but I don't mind that too much. Anyway the battledroids are better.

why does everyone that says a negative thing on this movie get a thumb's down, the movie sucked and I was there in 77 to see Star Wars, Lucas lied about a lot of stuff, in the conceptual paintings and one that is now lost forever, Luke was a woman looking over Mos Eisley. Lol, I just saw this movie tonight. Let me set the record, after the battle of Naboo, battle dorids were supposed to be much more intelligent. The writers fucked around too much. It had some much action and it was great to see the tri dorids again. I hate how Anakin lost his character. This didn't make me laugh and Jhon Williams must have thought this movie must had sucked too much for his creative music. Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5.^^
I took my 6 yr old nephew to see it the other day. He loved it, but said he liked the real star wars better. I quietly thanked God it was over. The force is weak in this one.

It was a real kiddie move and to me it kinda had the feel of a really long commercial. And Jabba's gay uncle who apparently was a refugee of hurricane Katrina was just FABULOUS...NOT!!! He didn't even speak huttesse and as if he wasn't gay enough they had to make him ware a feather...I mean wtf?

My only real complaints about the movie would be that they gave Obi Wan FAR TOO MANY sarcastic lines. It's like half of the lines he had were tongue in cheek. The other thing I didn't like was the complete retardation of the droids. It seems every movie they have been dropping in IQ, and it probably isn't going to stop.
Other than that, it was fine. I'll stick to the books, though.

I thought it was decent for what it was. In my mind this is an episode of a TV show on the big screen. And it works in that regard. The animation isn't Pixar, but they're also not spending Pixar money. In comparison with the type of animation that's done on television, it's pretty impressive. The amount of movement and detail from shot to shot are usually too costly to do on TV.
Phenomemal animation and special effects. Padawan had a nice feisty personality. Plot line was pretty sucky. The animated series of Clone Wars was better, especially how it showed much better fight scenes between Anakin and Ventress.
WELL, I never seen it. I am a Star Wars gen kid, Saw it in the theatre in 1977 and KNOW exactly what Lucus said in 77 and in 1995. It's kinda like Metallica, they lied to me. I was hugely let down by the first three movies that I had to wait 20 years to see. I am not ging George another dime. He never gave us nothing back. The cheap bastard couldn't even make his SW's CD's Dual format sided. A person like me, a fan of 30+ years should NOT have to buy the trilogies twice.

Okay stop making the excuse "made with kids in mind.." That's a dumb excuse. If it's a star wars movie, it's going to draw star wars fans, therefor it should be up to par with what star wars fans expect. No movie that's awful should get away with it because it was made with kids in mind.

I work at a movie theater. I see kids coming out of the theater absolutely PSYCHED about the movie. They love it! I'm just saying, ease up and look at it from a kid's perspective here. No I think I can see where you are coming from, for sure. And I think that it's great that kids are getting excited about star wars, but I think that putting something with such a long history back on the big screen puts it in such bad possition for judgement because of course you're going to get hardcore fans expecting great things. I think we're frazzled because this puts a huge dent in the universe's perfect historical content. I didn't mean to come off as mean.
not to jump in, but yeah, kids love it, my 5 year old this is probably his favorite of them all, he has more interest in the series overall now because of this, and my 13 year old daughter enjoyed it (identify with the main character here...) and I sharing it with them, found it enjoyable as well. sad to see Andrew wasn't a fan...my family is looking forward to the cartoon series - Zero the Hut was the only thing we hated.
Okay, here's the thing. Everybody's trashing this movie, I can understand, you're all feeling let down and angry. Just vent it out. Come back to it later. It's NOT THAT BAD. I liked Ahsoka. I liked the clones vs droids battles. I liked the quips and banter. The battle droids were actually funny. I liked the '40's newsreel-style opening. I liked the stylized animation. The lightsaber fights could have been better. Ziro the Hutt was... odd. The music didn't really fit.
So, my overall point is this: SUCK IT UP. Allow me to apologize for George Lucas for not fulfilling your every desire with this movie. People seem to expect Star Wars movies to be perfect for some reason. It's got it's flaws, but overall it's a good made-with-the-kids-in-mind movie.

As far as animation, yeah the movie was great. And it had it's funny spots. BUT for the ones who know the SW story line, this movie just throws massive kinks into it. I read the SW books and watched the movies, Anakin never had a padawan. I hate how they just throw that kind of information in and try to make it fit. It's the STORY LINE of the movie I'm not happy with. And the acting really could of been done better.
For those of you who want to no what happens to anakins padawan........ She is slaughtered by general grievous in the 3rd movie. You will have to watch the deleted scenes if you have the star wars episode 3 2 disk edition.

it was ok. it was just some of the smaller things that bugged me really. like the new jedi order symbol on the jedi shoulder plates. what was that about? i liked the action and the padawan but they could have done a much better job on this movie. the character animation really annoyed me too. but thats part of why i dont watch the clone war tv show much either.
I think the movie was great (being a huge Star Wars fan). The point is: This Movie was not for the mass of people who just go to see special effects like other Star Wars movies. Fans will love it (for the always amazing characters, plot, if thought as a Whole for the series) , Kids will love it (cartoonish graphics, little droid gags). Period. If you're not one of those, stay away from the movie. Go watch the TV series before so you can have the feel for new characters like Asajj and Capt. Rex.
Im 13 years old and i saw it today. I thought it was better than episode 1 and episode 2. I thought it would be a little kid movie but it wasn't. There was just battle scene, after battle scene, after battle scene, which got kinda old after a while. But the comedy of it made up for that. Sometimes i couldn't even tell it was animated so im gonna have to give it a 7/10.
hpfreak33 - Yeah, it was pretty heavy on the action. I actually REALLY liked the sequence where the Jedis/clones were climbing up that rock wall to get to the monastery.
the comedy sucked it made it worse in my openion i rated it kinda good just becaude of the fight sequences but the movie itself was flat it could have gone way more for the wow factor
That's true, it was definitely geared toward kids. But so were "Shrek" and "Toy Story", but the writing and voice-acting in those were GREAT. There's no reason it shouldn't have been the same with "Clone Wars".

I just saw Tomb of the Dragon Emperor the other day and that didn't meet my expectations. I was considering this movie over that, but now I'm not so sure because people are saying so many different things to it. I might have to go see it for myself, but I really don't want to waste my money.

Clone Wars sucks because:
1. they enter new character just like that for ex. Ventress who hasn't show up but suddenly does, with no explanation, so does Ahsoki
2. Robots have feelings and are frightened
3. 'Programmed' Clones have feelings and names
4. Anakin is all over the place, all the other Jedi's are probably watching porn
5. All the residents from star wars are stupid; they continuasly do stupid things
6. Plot too simple and full of holes
and many other stuff which I can't cover...

I had a tear in my eye when I watched Clone Wars movie, star wars seemed ruined. But this new Clone Wars TV Series is far better, and I like it alot. Plus how much of a success TFU was, I think George Lucas is again redeeming himself.

saw the movie, far from the real movies (which are awesome) -- I wish Lucas would make a spinoff series on like the next generation -- Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo who turns into Darth Caedus, etc. That'd be kinda cool. Overall, the Clone Wars I would give about 3/5 stars -- it wasn't a bad movie, but it was a bit far from what I had expected. It's a little bit on the kiddy side, but I don't mind that too much. Anyway the battledroids are better.

Lol, I just saw this movie tonight. Let me set the record, after the battle of Naboo, battle dorids were supposed to be much more intelligent. The writers fucked around too much. It had some much action and it was great to see the tri dorids again. I hate how Anakin lost his character. This didn't make me laugh and Jhon Williams must have thought this movie must had sucked too much for his creative music. Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5.^^

My only real complaints about the movie would be that they gave Obi Wan FAR TOO MANY sarcastic lines. It's like half of the lines he had were tongue in cheek. The other thing I didn't like was the complete retardation of the droids. It seems every movie they have been dropping in IQ, and it probably isn't going to stop.
Other than that, it was fine. I'll stick to the books, though.

Star wars was always a little on the kiddie side once Lucas figured out how profitable merchendising was. So I was fine with the kiddie factor.THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THAT FOR A CGI ANIMATION, THE LIGHT SABER BATTLES SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLE. THE POSSIBILITIES WERE ENDLESS. I thought it was decent for what it was. In my mind this is an episode of a TV show on the big screen. And it works in that regard. The animation isn't Pixar, but they're also not spending Pixar money. In comparison with the type of animation that's done on television, it's pretty impressive. The amount of movement and detail from shot to shot are usually too costly to do on TV.

Phenomemal animation and special effects. Padawan had a nice feisty personality. Plot line was pretty sucky. The animated series of Clone Wars was better, especially how it showed much better fight scenes between Anakin and Ventress.

I was hugely let down by the first three movies that I had to wait 20 years to see. I am not ging George another dime. He never gave us nothing back. The cheap bastard couldn't even make his SW's CD's Dual format sided. A person like me, a fan of 30+ years should NOT have to buy the trilogies twice.

The Clone Wars movie was fucking boring, and I say that as a fan of the six movies and of all the Star Wars games.
Mostly battle scenes you don't care about, no character development, nothing really at risk at any point. The animation was pretty weak as well.

And I think that it's great that kids are getting excited about star wars, but I think that putting something with such a long history back on the big screen puts it in such bad possition for judgement because of course you're going to get hardcore fans expecting great things. not to jump in, but yeah, kids love it, my 5 year old this is probably his favorite of them all, he has more interest in the series overall now because of this, and my 13 year old daughter enjoyed it (identify with the main character here...) and I sharing it with them, found it enjoyable as well. sad to see Andrew wasn't a fan...my family is looking forward to the cartoon series - Zero the Hut was the only thing we hated.

I liked the clones vs droids battles. I liked the quips and banter. The battle droids were actually funny. I liked the '40's newsreel-style opening. I liked the stylized animation. The lightsaber fights could have been better. Ziro the Hutt was... odd. The music didn't really fit.

As far as animation, yeah the movie was great. And it had it's funny spots. BUT for the ones who know the SW story line, this movie just throws massive kinks into it. I read the SW books and watched the movies, Anakin never had a padawan. I hate how they just throw that kind of information in and try to make it fit. It's the STORY LINE of the movie I'm not happy with. And the acting really could of been done better.

I think the movie was great (being a huge Star Wars fan). The point is: This Movie was not for the mass of people who just go to see special effects like other Star Wars movies. Fans will love it (for the always amazing characters, plot, if thought as a Whole for the series) , Kids will love it (cartoonish graphics, little droid gags). Period. If you're not one of those, stay away from the movie. Go watch the TV series before so you can have the feel for new characters like Asajj and Capt. Rex.

Im 13 years old and i saw it today. I thought it was better than episode 1 and episode 2. I thought it would be a little kid movie but it wasn't. There was just battle scene, after battle scene, after battle scene, which got kinda old after a while. But the comedy of it made up for that. Sometimes i couldn't even tell it was animated so im gonna have to give it a 7/10.

hpfreak33 - Yeah, it was pretty heavy on the action. I actually REALLY liked the sequence where the Jedis/clones were climbing up that rock wall to get to the monastery.

the comedy sucked it made it worse in my openion i rated it kinda good just becaude of the fight sequences but the movie itself was flat it could have gone way more for the wow factor

That's true, it was definitely geared toward kids. But so were "Shrek" and "Toy Story", but the writing and voice-acting in those were GREAT. There's no reason it shouldn't have been the same with "Clone Wars".

I just saw Tomb of the Dragon Emperor the other day and that didn't meet my expectations. I was considering this movie over that, but now I'm not so sure because people are saying so many different things to it. I might have to go see it for myself, but I really don't want to waste my money.
