we estimate that most pro-choice women in the USA have had abortions. So What Motivates Pro-Choice Women? Is it the love of God? Is it the love of humanity? Is it about the welfare of women in Africa? No, what motivates pro-choice women is their need to rationalize and self-justify their crime against nature, their crime against humanity, their crime against self, their crime against their child and their crime against God
Well, if he did that, he'd be running counter to what he said he'd do.
So,,, D'ohBama's is either a liar (will pick someone who is faithful to the law despite promises to pick someone 'sympathetic' to certain litigants) or a fool (will actually pick someone 'sympathetic' to certain litigants) .
TedinLasVegas There is no doubt there was a lot riding on this election. One of a presidents largest legacies is who is put into the supreme court. Fortunately we will be maintaining a liberal perspective in our supreme courts.
America will remain a secular democracy and not a Christian Theocracy as the right wing base of the GOP would have wanted.
All we want are justices that respect our laws, especially our Constitution.
With the like of Souter, Ginsberg, Stevens, and Breyer - we don't have much of that.
How else do you explain Bush v. Gore just narrowly stopping Gore's illegal recount? or, Heller v. DC barely recognizing individual rights? or, the destruction of property rights in Kelo v. New London?
It is liberals on the bench who, today, destroy liberty, life and freedom.
it really does get confusing. Where does prayer day and criminalizing Abortions fit into liberty life and freedom?
Texas is going to secede the union. You could have your own christian sharia laws there. Abortions would be outlawed. Abstinence until marriage would be law. You could stone a woman to death on her fathers doorstep if she's not a virgin on her wedding day just like in the bible. Wouldn't that be fun!!!
I never said anything about a theocracy, only that we conservatives prefer jurists who respect the rule of law and that the libs on the bench have shown that they don't care for law.
ah, the problem in America is that the old fiscal conservatism has been wiped out with extremist social conservatism. But hey! socialism ain't so bad comrade
How does killing a helpless baby fit into liberty life and freedom? If my mother had an abortion I wouldn't have ever even had the chance to have tose god given rights.
It has nothing to do with faith, We should value or youth not abort the living shit out of them. How about you tell ME why you think abortion is is right. Ask any scientist and they'll tell you that aborting a fetus is killing him or her. And assuming by your name I bet your against the death penalty for evil people who have, killed, raped and really tortured people. And then you turn around and want to punish the former US president for claims of doing what your protecting criminals for doing.
What are your views on protecting the lives liberty and freedom of post birth fetuses? Like any zealot you likely have never thought about anything but 'killing babys'
Do you have any idea of what the rate of incarceration and capital punishment would be in America today if it were not for the right for termination of unwanted pregnancy especially within the inner cities of America.
I did answer you question, MURDERING INNOCENT IS BABIES WRONG. And your justification to killing childeren is because you THINK they may become criminals. No matter how bad a human can be everyone of us leaves atleast one good footprint. I have met many speakers who were felons and now discourage criminal acts. And maybe soo many children won't me criminals if parents would actually parent. Now Defend yourself. Tell me why an assumption is worth killing over, The KKK does that all the time.
I am not a grammer nazi. I have can find plenty wrong with your argument without feeling the need to attack obvious but easily understood typing errors.
" if parents would actually parent." Wonderful! All the worlds social issues are now solved!.
I am all for attempting work towards reducing and preventing the need for abortions but your extremist everything is black and white views on this issue is not realistic. Fortunately the people who made the judgment on RvW were realistic and objective minded people.
Ok, if I'm an extremist, let it be. But what about the option of giving up your child to be adopted? There are waiting lines of people who want to adopt an "unfortunate" child. There are people who will take care of the child and love him or her no matter how they were conceived. I feel that I'm just trying to show people solutions other than killing a baby. And do you honestly think that taking the life of a child who hasn't done a thing is protecting their right to LIFE, liberty and happeiness
@FollowMyDamnedLaws 130,000 children above the age of 2 waiting to be adopte,d living in human animal-shelters called state homes and foster care homes beg to differ w/ how eager these 'waiting lines' of people wanting to be parents SO BADLY.
You think Scalia, Roberts, Alito, and Thomas are any better? They have little respect for the constitution, voting against the right of habeaus corpus and other civil liberties issues. The right wings abuse of the 4th, and 1st ammendments are just as bad as the lefts abuse of states rights and the 2nd ammendment. None of the current justices have true respect for our great constitution which is sad.
To the best of my knowledge, the only times an American citizen's claim of Habeus Corpus came to SCOTUS, they (the right-wingers) protected those person's rights and against Bush's violations of those rights.
Are you talking about the Gitmo few? They don't have Habeus Corpus rights and even under Article 3 of the 4th Convention, have only a right to tribunal and then either a release or an execution.
To be honest, I don't think anyone in the GOP cares about Roe vs. Wade, it's just something they throw around here and there to get people to side with them emotionally.
Nah, that is not further than where I was going. I have no doubt that Roe vs. Wade will stand. Abortion will never again be illegal in the US. The GOP doesn't care, they just know that a huge group of laymen care, so they pander that way, then sit on their asses and suck their thumbs.
A lot of women cannot take birth control pills or use other methods because of the side effects they cause. Taking the pill increases the risk of forming blood clots which could potentially go to your brain and cause a stroke. It is not a common side effect, but some women that already have blood clotting problems cannot take them.
Besides, no birth control method is infallible. My aunt got pregnant with her first son while using two birth control methods.
OR stop fucking for fun? I can and HAVE lived a happy life not obsessing over sex like %90 of males do. We all know what the #1 main reason for sex is, reproduction! I'm not saying it has to be only for reproduction, just that reproduction is the main purpose of sex so it's something you should seriously think about. Having an abortion is just another way people have found to wiggle out of the responsibilities of their actions. Without learning from a "mistake" ensures it will happen again.
I grew up in very liberal Portland, Oregon. All women and young girls have easy, cheap access to PPH, and when I moved down to South Beach last year, they don't even have a Planned Parenthood on the island, and your annual pap costs over $100. So, I do recognize that the fight of good sexual health care is fleeting. But Roe v Wade has held it's ground for more than a while now, and people are only becoming more liberal.
I've lived in a country where abortion was illegal, and families were SURE to get their daughters visas to the US so they could receive abortions if it was necessary. The US isn't perfect, but it is better than most places.
Why do you say that? Because that is just not the way I see it. Roe v Wade has stood, there have been restrictions put on it of which I disagree, but that is a far cry from saying it will be illegal in all states but our very liberal ones.
Like I said before, I have lived in a country where abortion is NOT legal, known a handful of women who can never have children again because of the means they took to abort. The US is too smart to over turn R v W, despite a party pretending they want to.
Wow, a rational Rethuglican - now I've seen it all!
Fact is - even if Obama stays in office for 8 years he will likely not get to replace more than 2 SC judges - 3 tops. And the 2 oldest, Stevens and Ginsberg, are both more liberal. It is IMPERATIVE that Souter be replaced with a liberal judge since none of the 4 arch Cons - Scalia, Roberts, Alito & Thomas - will drop dead any time soon.
Sessions is a racist, proven time and time again. He will no doubt follow the smear campaign the GOP has been running and do everything they can to filibuster the supreme court nominee. To bad they don't have the number to do it anymore.

Socialism only exists because our limited capitalist society supports it.
When our capitalism collapses, so will all of those "democratic-socialist" countries who so urgently depend on our strength for stability.

a quick footnote I too would like to see a return to the constitution.
I would like to see the removal of an amendment or TWO.

Which one or two?

I'd be screwed without one. :-)

Stop politicizing the constitution, it's one thing to ammend it, but any of the bill of rights is wrong.
