@finalfantasy8VIII Literally or metaphorically? (To clarify: one of the things people love about this movie is that no one knows exactly what it's supposed to be about. You have to figure it out yourself, though there are some common theories.)
Well if you want to know the very first song I used is from The Crow soundtrack composed by Graeme Revell. I think the song called is "Pain and Retribution".

And mark my words: If I have anything to do with it, no Westerner (by location, not by blood) is ever going to play Utena in any version of the story, live action or not, and no story in the Utena universe will ever be filmed in English. That's like...I don't know, making a version of The X-Files in Japanese, and casting Japanese actors with a story that takes place in the same exact universe. Just imagine that for a second. No...just no. Does not compute.
really, well i said the same thing w/ deathnote, but truthfully the japanese version wasnt all that the great, and had people comtemplating if light shouldve been an american actor. im part japanese and korean, so im not just a westener. i have plans to know full japanese, so the idea shouldnt be shot down so harshly
#1 I was just being an asshole, so don't mind me and don't humor my assholeness. Assholes are best ignored.
#2 I said "Japanese by location, not by blood." i.e. I do think an ethnically western person would best represent Utena--even taking anime weirdness into account, as she looks and even acts like an "outsider" to an extent. But I think it would have to be someone who was raised Japanese, in spite of Western ethnicity, because I don't think Utena could ever be well-translated into English
I really like movie trailers, and sometimes I even try to figure out what music is used. So I came up with my own trailers, and this one was my first.
Watch my other fan trailers. I also have another fan trailer for Utena the Movie. I'll put it up in the upcoming days. I'm also working on a Code Geass fan trailer.
would u say its a bad movie that has a lot of sex in it cuz if it does i cant get it my parents wont allow it i saw some parts of the movie but it was all in an amv and i wanna know
Revolutionary Girl Utena is one of the few animes that goes on girl-girl relationship beyond than friendship. Altough there are kisses and nudity inside, the movie and the TV series never shows any sex, the creators only keep this on the viewers, you decide if it happens or not. The movie olways "cuts" away at that point. If it would be a live action version David Lynch (Twin Peaks) or Tim Burton (Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish) would direct it.
I was going to make a Utena movie trailer once I got it on my computer, lucky you got to it first lol But I love yours so much! What program did you use to make it?
can any one tell me what the movie is about ??

Yes, Because after all, a girl with really white skin, pink hair, and blue eyes just screams japanese.

Thank you, I used Sony Vegas 6.0, and I used Graeme Revell's The Crow soundtrack and a production music from Immediate Music called Lacrimosa.
