  • A lovely ditto about Linda ... who was a real lovely person. A great opener, if a bit short.

  • I want a love like Paul and Linda's. All you have to do is look at a picture of them and you know how in love they were, ARE. Truly..

  • This is so sweet<3 and the giggle at the end, freaking adorable! xD

  • its amazing how paul could make something so simple but yet so beautiful (:

  • paul mccartney is the reason why they should invent the love button

  • lovely linda..

  • I love how he giggles at the end, it reminds me of Pooh bear hehe

  • Such a nice and sweet love song !!!

  • I love this song. my dad dedicated it t me. by the way,my name is Linda :)

  • this is the sweetest love song ive ever heard.

  • There's a like button , but they forgot a love button.

  • I think he's laughing at the end.

    Positive thoughts.

  • A great, though extremely brief song "Lovely Linda" is, no doubt.Though why was Paul crying at the end? Did he somehow know that Linda would be "passing away?" "All Things Must Pass, all things must pass away"

  • @1worriedman I always think the he is actually crying. Maybe because that was what his felt about the beatles break up. And since this song opens the album... he is crying about all the way the beatles ended.

  • @mecetnoca the band was still existing when he started to record this album (Xmas 1969), so it´s more probably a laughter, because he was happy with Linda, she helped him to get over the horrible time of the breakup. He latter admitted, that without her he may have ended like an alcoholic, since he was in a deep depression after the band broke up. Thanks to her, he managed his problems and kicked himself up for a new stage of career...

  • Linda means lovely.

  • @DYLANandKATIETV Linda is also cute in Spanish.

  • i love that this song goes nowhere...just a little chorus....fuckin brilliant....you can sing this melody for a thousand years and it never gets old

  • have u ever seen a man cry??!!! I was, I am, I did!!! i´m doing it right now!!!

  • i dont know about you but i really believe that paul mcartney was really singing about the Lady Gaga when he wrote this song. i think i read something like that in rolling stone magizine. ust my opinion. KISSES!!

  • @craismith In 1970?

  • @misterquark I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A NEW CD, MY BAD!! MAYBE HE WAS SINGING ABOUT THE LADY GAGAS MOTHER THEN!!

    just my opinion. KISSES!!

  • Is it just me or is he crying at the end?

  • @PhoenixAngelRVS No, they both laughed....

  • =D My name is Linda! And i love the song! =D

  • besides yoko linda is my fav beatle wife

  • Beautiful song in honor of a wonderful woman who inspired Paul so much

  • Exatamente! The real love story. Lovely Linda!

  • It might be short but it's good

  • why is it so shotrt?!? i wish it was longer, it would be AMAZING, if the song kept going for a few minutes

  • @HowToDanceForFree It wasn't meant to be an actual song. It was just a few lines Paul ad-libbed to test the recording equipment. Ultimately, it ended up as the first track on the album.

  • A very dear friend of mine came to visit me in England after | left Italy. He gave me this album as a gift. Whaterver anybody thinks of me. Ot whatever I think of myself. Nobody can take this away from me....................Haahaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I may be wrong, prolly am.... but when Linda died... a lot of Sir Paul died........ but tru to form, he still is the best Beatle ever was... he carried on when he had to

  • @floridajeet i dont think there is a best beatles, paul wouldnt be what he is today without john and john wouldnt have been john without paul. look at how inconsistent both of their music after the beatles was. around the time of sgt peppers their songwriting together and apart of phoenominal, when they grew apart their songwriting took a hit. its like the white album is amazing, its just not as consistent for their songwriting. in the same way mcCartney 1 and plastic ono are inconsistent.

  • lovely song

  • Linda was awesome. She wasn't like Yoko at all. When Paul started Wings, she was there from the beginning, whereas Yoko just invaded the Beatles. I also think Yoko is just a twit in general, although I do have some respect for her...Linda wasn't meddlesome, she was there because Paul wanted her to be...

  • Yoko never invaded the Beatles, and even if she did its not your business. No one asked you to butt into her business! Yoko and John loved eachother and that what mattered.

  • I wouldn't be complaining if she stayed outta the control room during recording sessions of those guys. Now, no one asked you for your opinion either, sir/ma'am. This is simply a place for leaving comments and opinions in general, not a battle royale to see who's wrong or right.

If you can provide a better argument than it's none of my business, I'll be waiting.

  • Yoko didnt ask to stay there John made her sit in there with him because he was very jealous and didnt want her around any other guy. He always wanted to be with her! He even made her go to the bathroom with him because he was afraid she would have an affair with the other Beatles!!!

So dont say she broke up the Beatles because she didnt. The Beatles broke up the Beatles. It was John's choice and if it made him happy you really shouldnt judge because its really none of your business.

  • That's all good and romantic, but a band is a band. Unless she was formally invited to join, it was no business of hers to meddle. Plus if John was so clingy to her, he wouldn't have brought her to places like Twickenham Studios or Abbey Road. He would have had her under lock and key elsewhere. The other guys hated her guts so much that an affair between her and one of them probably was unlikely.

Unless you're invited into the band or your suggestions are welcome, stay out of a band.

  • @VelvetPunk4life Yo have no right to jude Yoko so shut your mouth. Its what John said not me...read a few Beatle books and then tell me I'm wrong.

  • @Live4Beatles I have no right to 'jude' Yoko?

Why don't you read a few grammar books

and 'shut your mouth'? You think that you know

so much about the Beatles' dealings and how

integral Yoko was to the mix? I'm just a guy

who was stating an opinion and here you go

'juding' me for reinforcing an already agreed

upon norm in Beatle fandom. If you want to defend

Yoko so much, why don't you become her slave and

    publish her biography?

  • Well, genius, I think it is obvious to see the 'jude' was an accident! It has nothing to do with grammar, anyway! If you hate Yoko no one cares. You are in no way a fan of John's and dont try to argue. A true fan of his would at least have a little respect. If john wanted to be with Yoko thats HIS choice, not his 'fans.'

"If you cant respect the woman I love you are no fan of mine." -JL

  • @Live4Beatles You're obviously going to die

for this woman on the cross, aren't you?

Matter o' fact, I'm a fan of the Beatles, not Yoko

Ono. And actually, the fan community would care

to some degree because quite a few of us agree.

  • Just because all you idiots agree, it doesnt make it true. I see her for who she really is. I'm done here. No more arguing! If you write I wont read it or write back...PEACE AND LOVE

  • I'm in love with a woman who reminds me of Linda in just so many ways imaginable. And since I'm often told I remind some people of Paul because of certain areas of my life, this song is just so fitting and holds so much more meaning to me than the average person..

  • Such a shame it's a short song though, but like all of The Beatles & McCartney's work, it holds significant meaning regardless.

  • Sure better than that one-legged Dancing With The Stars golddigger he married after Linda passed away

  • Poor Linda, poor Paul.

    May she rest in peace.

Loved her and even met her once. She was really lovely.

  • There is a longer song, but sang by other guy who made the song to Linda, when she was like 5 , I think

just a sweety little girl :D

really nice song, if you find it lisen it :D

  • Why couldn't this song have been longer? I love it!

  • @blueeyedbeatle It was a demo take and therefore wasn't developed further. But still nice.

  • para mi princesa salvadorenia Linda Ruth Soriano de su papi que la recuerda siempre y la tiene en sus oraciones. Felicidades en tu dia hija preciosa!!!

  • :'( thats so sad.... the only woman i want to see paul with is her...she was so sweet- it breaks my heart- especially when i see a person who looks similiar to her- my stomache flips.... just imagine what it does to paul each day.... poor thing...

  • larsege123 how is this gay as all get out his singing about linda.

  • once in a life time love the beginning and the end for Paul when he fell in love with Linda.I know he gets lonely and needs companionship, but he'll never be the same without her. I hope he doesn't keep trying to marry these women just to fill the emptiness, it will never work. Love you Paul.

  • masterpiece -he wrote all the tracks played all the instruments himself sung all who else has done this, macca is the true king of pop, studio musicians are bin men period

  • As much as I like Paul, plenty of musicians write every track and play every instrument on specific recordings.

  • Not As well as Paul.

  • i'll agree he isnt the best drummer. but he has an AMAZING rock and roll voice. i dont think it gets better than his voice. and his guitar playing is excellent. very melodic.

  • it's a great album, it's his white album. it includes odds& ends a la white album but that just adds to the charm of the overall piece. RAM is brilliant, better than McCartney but the latter was still a great album just under-produced.

  • I agree, Macca stumbled out of the gate. Too much laid back home brew, except for the immortal Maybe I'm Amazed. If Paul was fed up and stressed he should have took a long vacation instead of rushing this out.

  • Excactly, Zardoz99. He should have put out RAM as a solo-debut OR worked another year on McCARTNEY. It's not THAT great an album, allthough it has it's groovy moments. It's just too much "bits and pieces", which is a shame. Harrison's ALL THINGS MUST PASS or Lennon's IMAGINE.... Now, those are really thought-through debut-albums. If Macca had just taken his time, he could have released the mother of all debut-albums, without a doubt.

  • Marand75,

Every album from Pepper on was basically a McCartney albumb with 3 talented musicians backing him. Give him a break.

  • @marand75 To all the haters on this user: cut him slack. He makes a good point. Whenever someone opposes an album's songs, the youtube community seems to jump all over them for having an opinion. Admittedly, yes, this is a pretty sloppy first outing. But he was getting his feet wet and it's a good first effort.

Also, consider Paul's emotional state while recording this. He was perhaps a little out of wack in dealing with a completely solo project.

  • @VelvetPunk4life Thanks, buddy.

  • My name is Linda. I always used to pretend Paul was talking to me.

  • Ohh, come on... Really.

  • Like Paul, Linda was one of a kind. She was a classy and dedicated wife and wonderful example of how a good marriage works. She was definitely the woman behind the man! Her inspiration was more than obvious in his songs and she was definitely a huge part of making the sound that will be remembered and loved for many years to come.

  • I love that album...I love this bassline. I adore Every Night.

  • Paul é foda!

  • Reminds me of Her Majesty.

  • so sweet! thanks

  • you should put up "mary had a little lamb" ! :)

  • RIP Linda

  • i like paul

  • Like him? i love him!

  • This is one of my favorite Paul McCartney solo songs. I love it! Thanks for posting!

  • MAF track 3 refers to daisys in her hair...interesting. Now I'm thinking that song was for Linda too. I think it's called Sunshine.

  • Blood or tomato sauce in the plate, and cherries around,on the cover.

  • COOL!

  • awesome!

  • Thanks...I have wanted to hear this song...I have ordered the album...I would also love to hear Another Day...do you have that one posted, or will you?

  • I do have Another day already posted.

  • I found it! Thanks!

  • Love this song. Thanks 4 posting :)
