at 2:46 the rider should of leaned back as soon as the horse hit the water 2 balance him outcoz it was the riders fault that the horse fell coz he was leanin forward as he hit the water
Why do you all look at this and always say the horses are maltreated?? this is a video ONLY showing the BAD parts of riding... every person is unlucky sometimes. watch the good ones if you ppl are too retarded to understand that accidents can happen!!
Why would you make your beloved animal do these things?! like 1:43 !? that horse is clearly not capable to do that steep! And 2:25 Wrong. 3:01 , that horse knew how, the rider wasnt ready. These riders deserve to fall for pushing their horses too far! Thumbs Up For Treating Animals Right!!!
@xXTrickStar22Xx ..Tell me how being treated well has anything to do with pushing a horse past its limits... ..the people who compete in these sports have horses coming out of thier ears...If one gets hurt, they just find a replacement ! These obstacles are too intense..plain and simple.
@xXTrickStar22Xx .. I've seen horses in training over smaller jumps than this...and A horse can be pushed to do something it may not necissarily want to do..Im sure, if you've been riding for some years you must have used a crop or spurs to make a horse perform. They all just don't happily jump over jumps..and many of the horses in this video are reluctant to jump and thier rider pushes them anyway! My point is..these courses are very demanding...and IMO too dangerous for horse and rider.
@michazel1973 if they were too demanding no single horse would continue to do these things. btw the riders always take care of their horse, and they NEVER do a 4* comptition without a more than 2 week recovery session inbetween
@xXTrickStar22Xx ..Yeah right..Im sure Beezie Madden and Mclain Ward hop right off after competition and go cool, curry and pick out their hooves ! Get real !

Just because you're crazy, doesn't mean you always fall...in every disipline people fall off. We just think eventers are crazy because they jump jumps that won't come down and a lot of horses die in that sport
@stupidblond428a We condition our horses more than jumpers do and we take every step to ensure the horse's and our safety. Please don't diss a group of people if you don't know what they go through. The top event horses have been training for YEARS. We don't just throw them out there and hope they do okay. Also, we only use horses that ENJOY eventing. If a horse doesn't feel like eventing, we don't make them do it. Might I add that eventers are also jumpers. It's called 3-day.
@BlueChild86 I don't know what post you replied to of mine lol sorry, but thank you for sharing..I guess I assumed..still I dislike the sport to be honest /:
@stupidblond428a I was replying to the post where you said eventers are crazy. Instead of saying you hate our sport you sould say you don't like cross country. We do show jumping anddressage as well, not just XC. I was a hunter for 11 years before I switched to eventing and I've found that the style of riding is much better for the horses than being a hunter is. We work sooo much on dressage and helping them to use their bodies in the best way for them and making sure they don't get sore ever.
@stupidblond428a Also, I think eventing it's a lot better than solely being a competitive show jumper where you kill their tendons from landing from 5 foot jumps constantly. Jumping is only a tiny part of our sport since we also do dressage. I hope this helps to broaden your opinion!
@ISGBV No, show jumpers jump a LOT more than eventers. We also work on dressage and conditioning. When we show, we don't only do jumping phases, we also do flat ones. So actually, jumping is a small part of our sport. I went 2 months without jumping to work on my dressage & I just had my first jump lesson 2 weeks ago. When you're a show jumper, you don't have that many other things to work on as eventers do, do subsequently, you do more jumping. When I was a hunter, I jumped every time I rode.
@ISGBV Yes, but if you are talking about Badminton level for eventers, then it's only fair for show jumping we talk about grand prix level. Grand prix horses jump a lot more then three times a week. While I was a hunter, I would have absolutely said eventing was much harder & dangerous then jumpers. Now, I see how thorough & careful eventing is. It's so much about bio mechanics. Also, u don't move on until you & your horse are in perfect symmetry. I'm very glad you care about your horse, though!
@BlueChild86 I disagree. Some trainers may push their riders to jump a lot if they are just learning how, or trainers that don't know any better but in my experience, riding 5-6 days a week for years, I jump maybe one or two of those days. I compete at 4' and yet even when I do jump, rarely ever jump anything over 3' at home. The rest is just flat flat flat! Getting the horses nice and supple. The top level of this sport is very good about not jumping unless the horses are at a competion
alot of horses dont die in this sport, they can get hurt and injured but rarely get killed in jumping accidents (besides jumps racing, but thats different)
some horses even get hurt badly, and retire never to jump again because of how bad they came out, but rarely killed....
some things are just to tough on horse and rider. and yes i agree that it is getting to demanding for the horses but that just shows the real skill that these equestrians that do make it to the top, have in them.
ya I agree with kaeso100 when I bought my first horse I decided almost immediately that I woudn't jump with him because the higher you jump the younger you have to retire your horse and seeing these videos just shows it better.... you can't think an animal over a 1,000 pounds doesn't hurt itself when it lands on just its 2 front feet?????
hahaha though most of the time the rider got unbalanced and it wasn't the horses fault!!! HAHAHA
Does anyone else think that the courses and fences are becoming too tough and demanding for a horse? Standards are constantly raised...anyone else have a view on when 'enough is enough' and we stop pushing these beautiful loyal and talented servants to their limits??!!...any opinion considered...feel free to offend...lol!
@kaeso100 I agree very much!!! I don't get why people do this I mean I jump too but just the regular jumps ( 4 or 5 hole verticals ) anyways, all these people are doing is losing the trust of their horses. This is just my opinion, I feel that its good to jump but don't push to much =)
@Chevaux0123 Glad you agree! Hickstead/Badminton etc are for the best, but only a handful of horses and riders can make it look 'easy'. The majority struggle. Sport horses are born to jump etc, but to push them so far with constantly tougher courses really worries me. The competitive nature of humans ruins horses. I think we need to evaluate the sport and evolve it rather than pushing the horse and rider to very dangerous levels.
@xXTrickStar22Xx Yes, there always Olympic standard horse and rider combinations who are so talented, they make it look easy......the other 99% however, don't find it so easy! ;)
@spiffydude16 Well thanks for clearing that up for us. I must remember that.... it's not that the top levels of equestrian sports are too tough, its that the horses are shite. I'm sure that will be a great comfort to the families and owners of riders and horses who have lost their lives because their horse wasn't good enough?
@kaeso100 Ok so racecar drivers are killed when there is a wreck.. the high speeds are dangerous.. however the fastest one wins.. are you suggesting that racecar drivers should be made to drive slower because the competition is too tough making it dangerous? If you aren't comfortable with the speeds or with taking the risk, don't race. If you aren't comfortable with taking a jump or the risks involved, don't jump. Leave the horse at home. It's simple.
@spiffydude16 In that case, if you think your car might crash, or might not be able to cope with the high speeds, then leave it at home, simple ;) Unforunately, horses aren't machines.....
@kaeso100 Leave it at home! I agree! And it is true that horses aren't machines, but it's the rider's and owner's faults if an incapable horse is pushed.
@kaeso100 so feel free to argue but plz be nice, well go to my page and you can see some of the showjumping falls and they are explained like the horse who fell of the hill at 1:41 he was fine and the both walked away, the water at 2:36 she got back on for round 2 of the nations cup on that horse, the tripple at 2:58 the horse lost his shoe therefore his grip and fell causing her to fall, at 3:15 MMB lost her hands when her horse went sideways and therefore her body followed, these arn't that
@2101lovelilly .. cont hard, but what is causing it is little mistakes that cause an accident these are all accidents and in any sports accidents happen. also these are natural courses that are part of history there are only about 5 left which is very small compared to one at almost every event ground. Naturals are also history its how hunters got around and we are losing history by making these courses 'artifficial' the riders sign papers they no how hard it is n wats required, there top h/r
@2101lovelilly Top equine athletes often suffer various health problems, DJD, EIPH, OCD, stomach ulcers, soft/connective tissue damage, travel stress by air/boat/road, to name a few, due to the tough demands of high level competition. NO expense is spared, i.e if they were lame the night before, believe me, vets/physios etc will work on the horse all night in order to get the horse sound enough for the rider to get a shot at victory the next day. Perhaps that contributes to the falls?
@kaeso100 i no esspecialy wen riders go over the jumps and pull the reins back realy hard they also do that wen there in mid air they pull back and kick, poor horses :( xx
@TheRubyRose13 I was representing my country in 3DE when you were just a toddler.... You are wasting your time telling me what was and what is...... You have alot to learn.
brill vid and i know you couldnt help the music its a little deprssing lol :) im just happy to see other ppl struggle with the same courses as me!!!! good job xx
most of those jumps were very demanding, no wonder the horses got confused... one of the triples had really weird pacing, wasnt sure if it was 2 or 3 strides to the last jump, thats prob why they fucked up..
wow that grey who just kept jumping even thoug the rider fell off must really love it. theres ur proof. the horses do like jumping. and just so you know these horses get treated better than u dragonedge. they get first class everything and gaurds watching over them and stuff.
UMMMMMMMMMMMM............ You don't just hold the rains and do perfect. If you think that your not such a good rider. You have to keep your head up, heals down, back straight and OLOT more hard things
id say some of those courses were a little too demanding. I love seeing horse and rider do something that seems almost impossible, but the majority of riders should be able to complete the task instead of falling or being disqualified. Amazing what we ask our horses to do though, and they often come through for us.
Some of those jumps are 1.40m PLUS, it's a damn hard task to get through a course of that height, unless u've been to the Olympics or World Cup Showjumping, then you can't criticise...
No im not criticizing them at all. Im saying that since they are some of the very best riders, there couldn't be this many falls and disqualifications. And since the riders are definitely capable, the course must be too demanding.
Yeah, everyone has a bad day, hell ive had my share. Some of the course designers put the jumps up to knock out any of the 'weaker' horses and riders.
DragonEgde horses love doing sports its better then them staying in a pasture doing nothing with there life. you cant just let them go wild they will get killed by hunters or hit by cars have you seen the world these days. its safer for horses to be doing a sport because you no what happens to horses that dont do anything..? they go to slaughter. its a very hard and sad thing to say but its true. thats why we try to make there lifes great but some people abuse that right.
they arent locked in cages..last time i checked my dogs are in the backyard running around and my horses are turned out in a pasture. they LOVE to jump, if they didnt they would stop at every fence...so were not the only ones being entertained
Well in the olden days, they didn't have cars, they had a horse. Ya wouldn't be saying that if you were back in them days. They relied on the animals.
@DragonEgde uhm, fyi.. we do not 'lock up our horses in cages'... most horses[and dogs], the ones used for these sports expecially, are VERYY well cared for.
supplements, the best feed, great grooming, lots of good exercize, ect...
so its better then lettin them starve in the wild, or go to slaughter bc they are useless.
mmmmm k?
so stop watchin these vids if it 'pisses' you off sooo much..... how immatuure... :P
can you all just forget watever comment your talking about because i dont really care because i know im not going to change your mind and fyi dont assume it was it was me talking cause i live with three youtub adicts that use my account.
what was the one where they had to canter down a really steep hill and jump a white fence and a lot of horses fell down the hill or refused the jump or fell through the jump?
Sorry but i HATE cross country because like in this video... if you hit the jump theres no going back coz it aint gna fall off!!!!! good video btw!!! :P
yeah i noticed that too i was like ouchh that one probably hurt. that one gray haha, knocks over the first two with the rider, then the rider falls off and he clears the third
they should not be jumping this high and doing courses like that, it is cruel and there should be a limit to the height and terrain. that is how they break their legs.
..okay ... running a horse down a steep hill and expecting it to jump 4 feet at the bottom isn't cruel at all..they enjoy that right? i'm just saying the extemeness of it is cruel, calm yourself
i like at 257 how the horse jumps with out the rider...

BlueChild86 1 year ago
@BlueChild86 I disagree. Some trainers may push their riders to jump a lot if they are just learning how, or trainers that don't know any better but in my experience, riding 5-6 days a week for years, I jump maybe one or two of those days. I compete at 4' and yet even when I do jump, rarely ever jump anything over 3' at home. The rest is just flat flat flat! Getting the horses nice and supple. The top level of this sport is very good about not jumping unless the horses are at a competion
alexisgeo5689 1 year ago
@stupidblond428a
alot of horses dont die in this sport, they can get hurt and injured but rarely get killed in jumping accidents (besides jumps racing, but thats different)
some horses even get hurt badly, and retire never to jump again because of how bad they came out, but rarely killed....
TheRubyRose13 1 year ago
some things are just to tough on horse and rider. and yes i agree that it is getting to demanding for the horses but that just shows the real skill that these equestrians that do make it to the top, have in them.

2:19 ~ great job giving the horse his head. saved the day ~
yes, enough is enough! ~
757AW 1 year ago
ya I agree with kaeso100 when I bought my first horse I decided almost immediately that I woudn't jump with him because the higher you jump the younger you have to retire your horse and seeing these videos just shows it better.... you can't think an animal over a 1,000 pounds doesn't hurt itself when it lands on just its 2 front feet?????
hahaha though most of the time the rider got unbalanced and it wasn't the horses fault!!! HAHAHA
SkystheLimitRider 2 years ago
Does anyone else think that the courses and fences are becoming too tough and demanding for a horse? Standards are constantly raised...anyone else have a view on when 'enough is enough' and we stop pushing these beautiful loyal and talented servants to their limits??!!...any opinion considered...feel free to offend...lol!
kaeso100 2 years ago 35
@kaeso100 I agree very much!!! I don't get why people do this I mean I jump too but just the regular jumps ( 4 or 5 hole verticals ) anyways, all these people are doing is losing the trust of their horses. This is just my opinion, I feel that its good to jump but don't push to much =)
Chevaux0123 1 year ago
@Chevaux0123 Glad you agree! Hickstead/Badminton etc are for the best, but only a handful of horses and riders can make it look 'easy'. The majority struggle. Sport horses are born to jump etc, but to push them so far with constantly tougher courses really worries me. The competitive nature of humans ruins horses. I think we need to evaluate the sport and evolve it rather than pushing the horse and rider to very dangerous levels.
kaeso100 1 year ago
@kaeso100 some people master even the highest level, and all of these obstacles with looking really good
xXTrickStar22Xx 1 year ago
@xXTrickStar22Xx Yes, there always Olympic standard horse and rider combinations who are so talented, they make it look easy......the other 99% however, don't find it so easy! ;)
kaeso100 11 months ago
@kaeso100 It's called competition. If the horse can't do it, stay at home. That's my opinion!
spiffydude16 10 months ago
@spiffydude16 Well thanks for clearing that up for us. I must remember that.... it's not that the top levels of equestrian sports are too tough, its that the horses are shite. I'm sure that will be a great comfort to the families and owners of riders and horses who have lost their lives because their horse wasn't good enough?
kaeso100 10 months ago
@kaeso100 Ok so racecar drivers are killed when there is a wreck.. the high speeds are dangerous.. however the fastest one wins.. are you suggesting that racecar drivers should be made to drive slower because the competition is too tough making it dangerous? If you aren't comfortable with the speeds or with taking the risk, don't race. If you aren't comfortable with taking a jump or the risks involved, don't jump. Leave the horse at home. It's simple.
spiffydude16 10 months ago
@spiffydude16 In that case, if you think your car might crash, or might not be able to cope with the high speeds, then leave it at home, simple ;) Unforunately, horses aren't machines.....
kaeso100 10 months ago
@kaeso100 Leave it at home! I agree! And it is true that horses aren't machines, but it's the rider's and owner's faults if an incapable horse is pushed.
spiffydude16 10 months ago
@spiffydude16 I can tell you don't have much high level equine experience. Thanks for your comments anyway. All the best.
kaeso100 10 months ago
@kaeso100 so feel free to argue but plz be nice, well go to my page and you can see some of the showjumping falls and they are explained like the horse who fell of the hill at 1:41 he was fine and the both walked away, the water at 2:36 she got back on for round 2 of the nations cup on that horse, the tripple at 2:58 the horse lost his shoe therefore his grip and fell causing her to fall, at 3:15 MMB lost her hands when her horse went sideways and therefore her body followed, these arn't that
2101lovelilly 10 months ago
@2101lovelilly .. cont hard, but what is causing it is little mistakes that cause an accident these are all accidents and in any sports accidents happen. also these are natural courses that are part of history there are only about 5 left which is very small compared to one at almost every event ground. Naturals are also history its how hunters got around and we are losing history by making these courses 'artifficial' the riders sign papers they no how hard it is n wats required, there top h/r
2101lovelilly 10 months ago
@2101lovelilly Top equine athletes often suffer various health problems, DJD, EIPH, OCD, stomach ulcers, soft/connective tissue damage, travel stress by air/boat/road, to name a few, due to the tough demands of high level competition. NO expense is spared, i.e if they were lame the night before, believe me, vets/physios etc will work on the horse all night in order to get the horse sound enough for the rider to get a shot at victory the next day. Perhaps that contributes to the falls?
kaeso100 10 months ago
@kaeso100 i no esspecialy wen riders go over the jumps and pull the reins back realy hard they also do that wen there in mid air they pull back and kick, poor horses :( xx
cazaschobs 9 months ago
@kaeso100
ummm back when they first started eventing cross country, the fences used to be so much bigger..
if you dont like it, no ones forcing you to do it, people that event make there own decisions.. whether it is too hard for them or not..
horses wouldnt event if they didnt want to

thatperson195 2 years ago
most of those jumps were very demanding, no wonder the horses got confused... one of the triples had really weird pacing, wasnt sure if it was 2 or 3 strides to the last jump, thats prob why they fucked up..
punkyr0o 2 years ago
wow that grey who just kept jumping even thoug the rider fell off must really love it. theres ur proof. the horses do like jumping. and just so you know these horses get treated better than u dragonedge. they get first class everything and gaurds watching over them and stuff.
111twilightlover 2 years ago 2
UMMMMMMMMMMMM............ You don't just hold the rains and do perfect. If you think that your not such a good rider. You have to keep your head up, heals down, back straight and OLOT more hard things
xemilyx805 2 years ago
id say some of those courses were a little too demanding. I love seeing horse and rider do something that seems almost impossible, but the majority of riders should be able to complete the task instead of falling or being disqualified. Amazing what we ask our horses to do though, and they often come through for us.
allieanimaux 2 years ago
Some of those jumps are 1.40m PLUS, it's a damn hard task to get through a course of that height, unless u've been to the Olympics or World Cup Showjumping, then you can't criticise...
xXxCherilynxXx 2 years ago
No im not criticizing them at all. Im saying that since they are some of the very best riders, there couldn't be this many falls and disqualifications. And since the riders are definitely capable, the course must be too demanding.
allieanimaux 2 years ago
sometimes people just mess up. there have been hundreds of falls, yes its possiblee.
imahorsegirl123 2 years ago
Yeah, everyone has a bad day, hell ive had my share. Some of the course designers put the jumps up to knock out any of the 'weaker' horses and riders.
Been through a few courses like that myself.
xXxCherilynxXx 2 years ago
DragonEgde horses love doing sports its better then them staying in a pasture doing nothing with there life. you cant just let them go wild they will get killed by hunters or hit by cars have you seen the world these days. its safer for horses to be doing a sport because you no what happens to horses that dont do anything..? they go to slaughter. its a very hard and sad thing to say but its true. thats why we try to make there lifes great but some people abuse that right.
JackAndArora 2 years ago
ouch! these looked really painful for the horse! most of em were the riders fualt, but you cant always get it right, so hey

I bet you have a car right?
Well in the olden days, they didn't have cars, they had a horse. Ya wouldn't be saying that if you were back in them days. They relied on the animals.
ChainsawJulietx 2 years ago
@DragonEgde uhm, fyi.. we do not 'lock up our horses in cages'... most horses[and dogs], the ones used for these sports expecially, are VERYY well cared for.
supplements, the best feed, great grooming, lots of good exercize, ect...
so its better then lettin them starve in the wild, or go to slaughter bc they are useless.
mmmmm k?
so stop watchin these vids if it 'pisses' you off sooo much..... how immatuure... :P

they should not be jumping this high and doing courses like that, it is cruel and there should be a limit to the height and terrain. that is how they break their legs.
well done video though.

um no its not crule u dont know anything about this aparently
