When I picked up harmonica playing and realised the riff in the song is played by breathing in and out on the same note... Made this movie even more awesome and I had to watch it again xD (Never realised it first, cause I was a kid when I watched this for the last time)
Why he left the girl? I think it's, because he chose the revenge. You try to forget bad things and let it go and if you success, you will probably get the good life and the girl. If you don't, you'll go and try to get your revenge, but it sure will change you as a person. You forget how to be a 'human'. Eventually the revenge will eat you at alive.
It's the same as in count of monte cristo. You just can't have your cake and eat it too!
Still the best closing scene in a film. Hurt my family I will find you. If Carlsberg did films this would the extra strong brew that would blow your socks of , guarantee you pull and don't have to meet theparents. What an epic.
starting from 1:34 - 2:58. combine with ennio morricone awesome music, it actually give me goosebumps. especially when close up to the Harmonica face.
The bluray ver. of this movie is awsom man...favorite western. At work when things get harry i here this movies theme song in my head.....Time to kick ass.
Did he get oscar for this? Also the reason he did not take the girl is, he all along was there for another dark reason, REVENGE, when thats on human mind everything else is out.
Charles Bronson was such a stud in this movie. Only thing is.. that girl was his for the taking and he should have took it. Damn what was he thinking ?
I don´t know why this weirdos put man with armonica with a message that means something about someone like puto2555 did. I have gone over alot of links to find this one! i ask why are people so dumb? thanks paulo you at least have put what i was looking for!
Once upon a time in the west. It's probably one of the best westerns around. World class performance by Charles bronson. Excelllent film. Watched it first with my dad when I was a kid. Everytime its on we'll still sit down and watch it.
Thanks for putting this beautiful video on here - it is a great movie - the longset opening sequence in movie history you know - remember the opening whne they are waiting at the station for the harmonica guy, and the guy with the funny bug eyes is in the rocking chair and the fly is buzzing around him and all you can hear is the buzz of the fly and the creak of the chair - sheer brilliance!!!
By the way, do you know anything about a man going around playing a harmonica? He's someone you'd remember. Instead of talking, he plays. And when he better play, he talks.
agreed Fonda played the role brilliantly, cold blue eyes of a killer. This is not a film, it's art topped by a fantastic line, "someday". Brilliant posting.
How incredibly cruel people can be... how can you even think up something like this? I've seen the movie so many timens and everytime I bawl my eyes out at during this scene....
Besides Nino Rotta's "The Godfather", the greatest soundtrack of all times is the one composed by Ennio Morricone for "Once Upon A Time In The West". And Sergio Leone is a genius film director. He subverted Holywood stardarts: Henry Fonda, always the All-American hero was the heartless Frank; Charles Bronson, with his hard attire was always casted in America as a baddie - but for Sergio Leone he was the perfect anti-hero. So full or raage, revenge and thirsty for justice. BEST WESTERN EVER!
@Coquito585 start off with the best of the best, Fistfull of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, Bad, and the Ugly. Obviously Once Upon a Time In the West is great, The Magnificent Seven is worth watching and finally I would suggest High Noon.
Hey guys I'm starting to be interested in Western movies if ya can give me a list of best cowboy films ever made old or new I would really appreciate it
Hey, "The Bravados" I guess is not really one of the best westerns ever made, but it was pretty good revenge flick with Gregory Peck and a young Lee Van Cleef.
Do you know anything about a guy going around playing the harmonica? He's someone you'd remember. Instead of talking, he plays. And when he better play, he talks :)))
Classic, beautiful scene. But, the aspect ratio plays all wrong on my PC. This looks like 16:9 anamorphic tagged incorrectly as 4:3, so it plays back squashed.

there is a very simple error in the sequence of hook and the guy with the harmonica ... a perfect harmonic out the pocket .. . then the boy is crushed in the mouth, and then, curiously, in the next scene returns to have an impeccable harmonica ... I do not understand and do not care details
yes. at this stage give the guy a perfect harmonious to his mouth. then show him with a harmonica and then crushed, and have it again with a harmonica that is in good condition. It's just looking at the details. Thanks Ricardo
