this charger is overkill for your needs. see you local hobbyshop for a cheaper one. $50 will get you a decent one that will also charge lipos.

Also, what difference does 12v vs 24v PSU make?

Is there a difference between charging a 6S Lipo @ 1C rate with 12v vs 24v ?

@xxgg What your getting at is total WATTAGE. Wattage is the Voltage X Current (Amps). So lets say we have 2 power supplies that are both 10amps rated, one is 12v and on is 24v. The 12v X 10A gives us 120watts to charge with. The 24v X 10A gives us 240watts to play with. If we are charging packs greater than 12v it is more efficient to have a higher voltage PS because the charger does not have to up-convert the voltage which has some losses.

I have a question for brandon since he works at a hobby store. Do the nicer lipo safety bags give you fiberglass slivers like my cheap $5 one does? Every time I stick my hand in there I have pain for 3 days because of it.

@nerdyrcdriver This might sound funny but paint the inside of your bag and you wont get 10,000 needles in your hand everytime you use it

@nerdyrcdriver You can buy specialty made spray paint for fiberglass, That's the kind we use on our fiberglass chairs and they are really bad to sit in when they need a coat of paint =)

I would say the usb is a more common thing in chargers. My $40 thunder ac6 from hobbypartz has it and I love using the software even though I only have one lipo right now.

@peekayboo Fast charging NIMH yes. Lipos do not get hot while charging, that's why they are so good =]...well maybe they get warm when I charge them using that charger...>=] at my own risk of course...
