That War never should have happened. In the end, what did they really achieve? I had a Great Uncle, god rest his soul, who fought in WWI.

my grandfather was in the wehrmacht and i get talked down to at school because he killed many canadians and im from canada.

Now being Canadian, Do not take offence to it, now if he was S.S, I would feel different. but where its Wehrmacht and not the Schutzstaffel, the Wehrmacht faught for their country and didnt really have a choice other then to fight. same as in WWI on Christmas when both sides stopped fighting and sang songs. There is no real hard feelings between the soldiers just the politicians controlling them.

These are great photos, although the troops at the train station wearing the stetson would be American Soldiers, the rest look like Canadian or Commonwealth soldiers. There uniforms were all so similar back then with only a few differences in the cut, and cuffs.

Good to see pictures of our Canadians fighting the war. I just wished my Grandpa fought for the British not the Nazi's in WW2.

They were part of a contest by the National Film Board of Canada. I doubt they are still available, but if you want them I'm sure you can figure out how to download this video from YouTube.

Sadly you can't i have tried already, YouTube has a lock on all the videos :(, just try it. right-click a video, then save as target, then when you click it in your videos, it will not work:(, but thanks anyway Im going to still try the National Film Board of Canada.

You can get these clips and stills at Veterans Affairs Canada and the Canadian War Museum site. Whether or not you can use them here?? Don't know.
