@sseasshark more then that prob 25 pounds more and the pads make it harder to skate its a pain our coaches fav drill was suicides or what this video shows :)
its cool how the director of this movie had the actors actually do this scene. all of the actors staked these sprints, for as long as the real team did. it is quite impressive
ive played hockey my entire life and trust me thats one of the most painful drills you can ever do, skateing uses different muscles then running u dont believe put on some skates and try :D
@shoha008 so true I dreaded suicide drills ....players would have to also wear ankle weights to compensate for goalies. Im a goalie and our coach back in the day would leave a bucket at center ice for upchucks lol
@TxTechRox123 It's just like swimming, it works every muscle in your damn body, incredibly rigorously after only a few reps. You are eventually so unstable and numb from the massive pain that you can barely hold yourself up let alone maintain your balance and not fall over on the ice!
when you pull on that jersey, you represent yourself, and your teammates, and the name on the front is hell of a lot more important than the one on the back!
I'm exhausted just watching this.

Props to all the actual players for completing these drills, but imagine how bad it was for the goalies in comparison to the players?
They wear over 10 pounds of equipment on them, and have much less mobility compared to the other skaters.

This is a great scene....pushing them to limits unknown.
I love the expression on the assistant coach when he finally gets what the head coach is trying build. At that point, he gets engaged.

just like the scene in mighty ducks where bombay is making them do sprints after losing to iceland 12-1.

In real life, it was Mark Johnson slamming his stick on the glass that ended it.
