@jasmined799 it's because they knew how to convey the emotions of the animals through the music. i still get goose bumps and get all tense when i watch this scene. notice how very little is actually said and all of the actions and emotions are spoken through the music. it's something that all of the new disney movies lack. there's too much talking. senseless talking.

Years ago, I saw "Bambi" in a large theater with a very large screen. At the end of this sequence, about four seconds after the rifle shot, a ten year old boy ran up the aisle into the lobby barfing all the way. I'd say that's high praise for the scariness of a piece of art -- or stomach flu.

The toddler Bambi is so pretty I almost want to cry anytime I see him on the screen. I will admit that the first time I saw this movie in a theater back in 1975, I found the teenage voices of the teenage Bambi and his boy friends so disconcerted that I fully expected to hear one of them say, "Hey guys, let's go the malt shoppe and see if we can find girls."

This movie made me respect deer so much. Like, why, when you see a deer with antler's the size of Bambi's fathers, would you want to shoot him down? It's senseless. That deer is majestic and clearly has good genes that he should pass on to as many offspring as he can..

Bambi Is without questen the most honest movie Disney ever made. I would wish more animations today would contain just a bit of that same honesty.

When I was kid, everytime The Great Prince of The Forrest makes his entrance, I was sitting in awe in front if the screen, just like all the rest of the deers. (or actually I still do that).

I recommend every person liking this movie to read the book it was based on. It´s not that romanticed as the movie was, the movie left few characters out and mainly just softened the story´s image majorly. I can say that again, I prefer the book over the movie. I just hope I´ll soon be able to buy it´s sequel :)

I played this track first when I bought the soundtrack. I got a ride from my father to work, and I put it on. He asked me what symphony this was, it's not a symphony I said. "It's Gallop of the Stags in the meadow in Bambi." "Oh yeah."

It had been more than 15 years since he heard it, but remembered it none the less.
