I have served in Iraq 2 times now and you say that we fight an unjust war?. My point is that there are many exceptionally succesful people in high places with 1st class educations who ALL made the conscious decision to join the Marine Corps at one point in their lives; that alone says alot about the Marine Corps. I am a Marine Recruiter. I am sure there are some recruiters that may lie because they suck at recruiting. I am looking for the future of the Marine Corps. Lying to a young man or woman only gets them to not trust you and smear your name throughout the commmunity. My job is to find out their goals, needs, and circumstances and show them what the Marine Corps has to offer them to acheive those goals. If it is not for them, so be it. But, at least they made an educated decision rather than hearsay

Or many famous Hollywood actors who made the conscious decision to join the Marine Corps before making it big? Or a Marine Officer I know who is doing a White House fellowship this coming summer? Or lawyers like F Lee Bailey (damn fine attorney) who are former Marines? Or distinguished gentlemen like John Glenn or James Webb? Should I even go on?

My point is that there are many exceptionally succesful people in high places with 1st class educations who ALL made the conscious decision to join the Marine Corps at one point in their lives; that alone says alot about the Marine Corps. The whole generation of my family before me were either Marines Airmen or Sailors, they all make over 100k a year and enjoy the benefits of retirement at age 38.. Not to mention they got a jumpstart on their savings while on active duty, got a degree, and all sit on high level positions at their jobs..
Meanwhile all my relatives on my moms side who went to college are in and out of rehab, constantly bumming money from my grandma.. etc.

i go to the recruiters almost every day and its weird because he doesnt ever lie to me believe it or not, i know what he tells me is true not only because he is a good Marine but because i check it and it is true. but yes lol defensive driving is most definately not taught in boot camp.

I am a Marine Recruiter. I am sure there are some recruiters that may lie because they suck at recruiting. I am looking for the future of the Marine Corps. Lying to a young man or woman only gets them to not trust you and smear your name throughout the commmunity. My job is to find out their goals, needs, and circumstances and show them what the Marine Corps has to offer them to acheive those goals. If it is not for them, so be it. But, at least they made an educated decision rather than hearsay

Regardless, the guy is reading straight from the board, which is produced at MCRD, so its exactly as it seems...just not as boring as the recruiter puts it.
