In Canada in 1992 the church of Scientology and seven of its members were tried and convicted on charges of stealing government documents (many of them retrieved in an enormous police raid of the church's Toronto headquarters). Scientology proposed to give $1 million to the needy if the case was dropped, but Canada spurned the offer.

Something to be aware of fellow torontonians.

If someone from CoS attempts to follow you home there is a law called, "Watch and Beset" and you may tell any police you come across that you would like them charged under that act.

The cop may not do it--but it will stop CoS members from attempting this criminal behaviour in the future.
