I love that song! It's so post-modern as it questions and criticises the solutions and "diagrams" provided by the "men with heads filled with sand", the builders of modern philosophy and society.
Though in the Modernism period we humans finally got to start to consider the individual freedom as well as religious, political, moral and intellectual freedom too, we found ourselves trapped by "reason" and by science as these too were subjected to the power of greed. So we were trapped...
We were trapped again by the values from Modernism which kind of prohibited us to perceive, feel and explain reality if not by formulas and numbers. So, to quiet our inquiring hearts, they offered us goods, fields, all sort of possessions, and they made of us consumers and individualist people. And then we built walls to protect us from others and we isolated and alienated ourselves in our small and incomplete worlds and societies.
