  • If your going to buy one get a snub nose it is more accurate, as proven in Call of Duty Black Ops. The dual wield is not worth it as your ability to aim down the sights is impaired.

  • @crazyalguy your a dumb ass

  • @crazyalguy It's funny how people get so mad at the cod jokes. They are, by far, the best genre of troll comments.

  • @jdubEVH IKR, I just say them to enrage the trolls who can't take a joke lol

  • Can anyone identify the grips that are installed on this particular Python? I like the way those look with the Royal Blue finish, I contemplated getting a set of black Hogue or Pachmayr grips, but the wood finish looks so much nicer with the blue.

  • I'm from CT, holla!

  • Someday I will own a Python. Thanks for the video and as always keep up the good work!

  • such a legend

  • FWIW not all Pythons are .357. They also made a .38 special only model.

  • You can see the rounds travel to the target at 9:56. Never gets old.

  • this truely is the Rolls-Royce of wheel guns. and the price of the last one i was reflects that. over 2500 USD for the 6 inch version. its a very beautiful hand gun and i would love to own one but with price tag like that i dont see it being added to my collection anytime soon.

  • DOn't wanna be a jackass, but the lead from all the bullets must be polluting the ground quite hard after a while. Or do you collect them and sell the lead again?

  • @ExtremeDeathman, I use the same method all the hundreds of Civil War battles sites use when it comes to lead issues.

  • @hickok45 what method is that??

  • @ExtremeDeathman do you know that lead came from the ground to begin with?

  • @DeanMLFlame But it doesn't come as a pure element and therefor doesn't intoxicate as it can't oxidyze and polute the water. Also Lead doesn't come in such great amounts like in an openfielded shootng range...

  • Why Colt dont make the Pyhton and Anaconda anymore, it would be a very good seller!

  • Is there any truth to the rumors of these guns going out of timing easily?

  • I rarely shoot hot magnums from mine (usually just when hunting), usually target shoot with middle loads in .357 or just wuss.38 specials.

Have thousands of shots through mine, no timing issues.

  • @hickok45, i like guns i like the way they look, i like the shiny steal and the polished wood. ahaha. then with the m16A1, i like guns, pew pew, i like guns, pew pew, i like guns. (:

  • You could almost see the .38 specials zipping through the air.

  • I didn't know this gun was so special. How much do they cost?

  • @FlyTour69 around $1,500 minimum.

  • I had a dream I had this gun then I woke up and was so sad

  • would love to have that gun.

  • Hickok how do you really feel about this gun? :)

  • I am jealous of you guys who shoot outdoors. What do you do if you live in the suburbs and you want to shoot outdoors without being arrested? Can you just drive to the middle of nowhere and shoot?

  • @mgibbs88 hell yeah you can, we have the second amendment for a reson. i hate shooting at ranges so i go drive to the boonies and sqeeze off a few rounds. its well worth the drive. at least in my opinion.

  • @mgibbs88 here in Canada you can just drive out into the bush, as long as its not private property.

  • Colt Python is the official zombie hunting revolver...but it has to be in Stainless Steal and a 6" barrel

  • he's a veteran of war? xD

  • I got a boner from this gun....

  • man what a sweet looking and sounding revolver

  • Watching Sheriff Rick shooting zombies on the Walking Dead, with a Colt Python.

  • I oil my Colt Python up as I watch the show.

    6" blued 1969 model.

  • So few colts to go around, so few dollars to spend; this class is a lesson in supply and demand. It is all Hickok's fault for creating all of this demand for such awe inspiring beauties.

  • Best revolver ever

  • It is a very good habit you have of cocking the hammer with your non firing hand instead of changing your grip and using the firing hand. Inherently an accurate trait

  • Absolutely my favorite revolver. However I'm too poor to buy one.

  • wow those 38s drop

  • excellent shooting, beautiful revolver

  • ok that is sick shooting on that far target. dude is shooting a group on a 100m target with a revolver.

  • well if your out of ammo you could beat a bear to death with it .

  • I think my colt grizzly with its unfluted cylinder and its 6 inch barrel in stainless and with a wood grip looks prettier. Just saying :) ill never sell it. even if im dying...nope bury me with my loyal bear.

  • If you look close you can see the 38 rounds fall to the target, I say fall because they have a pretty good arch on them

  • Incredible gun! Thanks for shooting it!

  • First revolver I ever shot was a 6in Colt Python. Kind of spoiled me for the other hand guns.

  • Good thing about revolver is the forensic advantage of not ejecting a cartridge : )

  • I have a question would you recommend a colt python or a 686?

  • it's a shame you cannot purchase any new colt revolvers except for the single action army. colt has really gone off the tracks.

  • I love your gun videos I learn so much from then

  • I'm not new to firearms as a whole, but I'm new to pistols. Could someone explain to me how a .357 can shoot .38 if the .38 is about 2.3 calibers bigger in diameter? I know bullets fit tight in the barrel to grip the rifling... But wouldn't .38 be a little too big??

  • @Supra7887 .38 is a shorter cartridge than the .357. you have it backwards.

  • @Supra7887 wikipedia explains the whole history of why the .38 fits the .357. Check there to get a better explanation.

  • First handgun I ever bought was a 6 inch Python. I still have it. Yes, very nice guns, but I have to admit - I now prefer the S&W brand. Why? Two reasons. First, the Smiths use a more robust locking system that locks the cylinder in 2 places instead of only 1. Second, the S&W sights are larger (wider) and make target aquisition a whole lot easier. The Colt sights are just too small in comparison to the Smith & Wesson's.

  • how far is your gong???? I have always wondered my guess is 50m?

  • gun is drop dead sexy

  • I was referencing the moment in the video where hickok45 forgets how many rounds he had fired and pulls the trigger with no live rounds left.

  • 5:55 LET FREEDOM RING!!

  • wasnt the python a double-action revolver??

  • Isn't that gong at 80 yards!? Incredible shooting man!

  • oh no you gotta go back to those beautiful wood grips. Your hands have to bleed after 100 rounds because of the sharp checkering. Its a right of Colt passage

  • Comment removed

  • It needs a six inch barrel. To me the four inch makes it look stuby and ugly.

  • I bet that thing has killed someone in it's past.

  • can u shoot it safely with one hand?

  • @piepowa

    Oh course, why wouldn't you?

  • Are you wearing a Steve Lee T-shirt? LMAO

  • They should make a limited perduction run of a 1000 of each and every model

  • I HAVE LOADED 38 CASES TO MAGNUM PRESSURE... ONLY DANGER IS GETTING THEM MIXED UP AND IN A 38 ONLY GUN.

  • THE KING COBRA IS PURTY DARN NICE TO...VERY SMOOTH

  • does anyone now were i could get a python ive been searching for a while

  • Comment removed

  • @regret1461 try gunbroker(dot)com but they're not cheap

  • The custom shop ultimate's are at another level from the factory. Money was the only reason I didn't buy one.

  • He is a demon of a shot

  • I have both, S&W 29 is the better of the two.

  • @pieword

Oh fuck yes, Smith&Wesson DA revolvers crap all over Colt DA revolvers, but the Python was in a different class all by itself.

  • Anaconda vs. Smith model 29??!?!

  • I LEARNT ON 357 LOADS ON A PYTHON GREAT GUN EASY TO HANDLE YOU SHOOT GREAT R/H BARACADE

A LOT OF PEOPLE DIDNT KNOW THAT IN THE FILM "DIRTY HARRY" HE USED A COLT PYTHON NOT A S/W !! BUT YOU CAN RECONISE IT EASLY BUY THE BARREL LOCK BUTTON

GREAT GUN ! I LIKE THE 8" PYTHON ! WITH PACMYERS AND BARREL WEIGHT

  • Hickok, wanna be my grandpa? I don't have one.

  • Its a shame Colt stopped making these. Their fit and finish were unmatched in my book. Would love to see these make a comeback. Would also love to see an Anaconda review, Hickok!

  • I'm a huge fan of The Colt Python AND The Colt Anaconda.. and you were 100% correct in saying that the Python deserves the description "BEAUTIFUL"!! I plan on owning a couple of each.. just to say I do.

Yes and, The Colt King Cobra(.357) and The Colt Diamondback (.22LR+.38spl models) and The Colt Cobra (.32S&W Long) just to say I have the whole darned collection of COLT SNAKE GUNS!

**The Viper is far too scarce to find to add to my collection but if I come across it I will of course snag it**

  • You gota any chonguns.

  • How far is that big round plate? What distance?

  • @gixxerboy555 80 yards

  • Unbelievable...hickok is saying...this is probably why I missed the 6th shot...Awesome..

  • why do u can see the bullet flying at 10:2 ? its actually a real gun right XDD?

  • @Nightgamer9 Of course it is...

  • Dang I had no idea you had a Colt Python video! Better to watch it late than never. haha :-P

  • The sound of that gun is just incredible!

  • I am definitely not a revolver fan, but when I saw the python it struck me as beautiful before you said it.

  • People curse me for buying a mint 1978 in 2011 and shooting it. they are made to be shot!

  • @DirtyDickie

Rock on! Shoot it till it wont shoot no more...putting guns like these in a safe ultimately to pass through the hands of rich, ne'er-do-wells for profit and cursing those who actually shoot them is a travesty of the highest degree. They're not Washington's obsolete musket with a signed butt and the Hope Diamond stuck to the pan, they're beautifully smooth .357's which beseech you to fire them ragged.

  • @IcabodCrane

Hell yeah, Made to be shot!

  • Makin that steel SING!!! you the man Hickok!!

  • Hickok 45! How about a video with the .44 calibre Colt Anacoda friend?

    Thank you.......

  • truly, a tool America is proud of. It, in my opinion, is a Beautiful firearm for the glimmering sheen of the barrel, the smooth grip, and one HELL of a kick due to using .357 shells. awesome taste in weaponry, awesome video, and awesome gun

  • Don´t like Colt´s (for some reasons)... that is like "swearing in church" to me! I own a Python made in 1961, it started 6", forcing cone cracked, 8" nice at long range, and now a 3" :er reblued (royal blue) with ivory grips, most beautiful gun there is !

  • Hey Hickok just wanted to say I love your videos. I am the only one in my family who likes guns, actually bought my first gun, a mosin, in may. Before I bought it I watched your video on it over and over. Today i bought a WW2 used Mauser, and you bet i watched your video on that too. My dad and I watch your videos together. Im trying to get him into guns too because we really dont do a lot together so im hoping we can shoot together. Keep making awesome videos man:-)

  • "ah, caught me flinchin' didn't ya!" haha... way to stay honest hockok. keep it up.

  • yay i seen this in cod these dual a effin awsum jk thumbs up if you hate people like this

  • this guy is like my idol

  • I had the 4 inch model which I bought around 1977. I also had the Diamondback in .22 because they looked alike and .22 was cheaper to shoot. Alas, I also traded both off for something else I just had to have. Two things I would like to go back in time and undo. Lol. Anyway much enjoyed seeing you shoot the Python.

  • Will you be my grandpa? PLEASE!!!

  • It kills me when I'll watch things like this and people say "These guns are really unmatched, I've owned a few," If they're -that- good why do they keep selling them!?!?

  • @IcabodCrane good point

  • @IcabodCrane You need variety sometimes.

  • @FlourescentPotato

Oh I agree. I just find it hysterical when I'll hear someone say that ___ is the best ___ ever made, but that they've sold the ones they had prior. Some do it for profit, some think they'll still be obtainable in a better variant or whatnot...but honestly, though I do like the Pythons a lot I don't consider them to be the absolute best. Sort've like the Triple Lock, they were superbly done but didn't exactly have any specific design change that ultimately stuck.

  • How much did you buy it for?

  • Mr Hickok, did you ever have any problems with the side plate getting a bit loose when you dry fire practice or during shooting @ the range? I recently bought a 4 inch stainless @ Gun Broker.com. It shoots and all. It looks awesome and new but I just noticed that the side plate above the trigger area gets a bit loose. Any thoughts? Please help and thanks a lot!

  • I love the compound! Shaving cream cans (full) make very cool targets, btw. Keep up the good work!

  • is that 4 in barrel

  • I know what your thinking.... did i fire six shots or only five....

  • @maccas1329 you've got to ask yourself one question: "do i feel lucky?" well do ya, punk?

  • @maccas1329 that was a S&W Model 29, not a Colt Python.

  • @LWRCftw my bad

  • @maccas1329 wrong gun but we get the idea, more like "can I see your license and registration please?" "Here" BAM BAM BAM...BAM BAM...BAM Magnum force motorcycle cop killes dude in car

  • @maccas1329 That was a .44 magnum. Model 29, blued. 6 1/2 inch barrel. This is a .357 magnum...

  • @mroeder98 Yes yes yes I understand you have access to google as well but you are missing the joke. As I explained in previous comments, I was referencing the occasion in the video when the shooter runs out of ammo and doesn't realise.

  • @maccas1329 I didn't use google. I know what it is. I know what the joke is. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was simply trying to inform you. It was just a random fact that I figured might intrigue your interests. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

  • @mroeder98 Ok, if you knew it was a reference to the amount of bullets left why did you tell me what was obvious to me in the first place. You were being a know-all and I responded with a simple message telling you you were a twat. No feelings hurt, just your butt.

  • @maccas1329 Again, I just thought it was an interesting piece of information that you might like to know. If you thought it was obvious, why did you say I used google?

  • One question I've wondered that you've probably answered before is were you ever in the military or police..?

  • One thing i wonder is why the camera man never does any spotting for you during the video

Can't he see what the video records clearly?

  • @VicariousReality7 , Because we do things the way we do them intentionally, for one reason or another. :-)

  • @hickok45

Oh well, good to know that you do something for some reason

  • @VicariousReality7 The camera man is his son. And with all due respect you should do some watching before you are so quick to critique. :)

  • @jigsaw183

I have watched almost every video Hickock has made

    What is your point

I have heard hickock say that he can not see the target clearly several times, yet it is very easy to see in the video

  • @VicariousReality7

I'd like to see you shoot as well as Hickok at his age. Camera =/= Real life

  • Comment removed

  • @VicariousReality7

    Point proven

  • Comment removed

  • "Another gun has 'slithered its way to the compound..." LOL! Hickok, I love your videos and the humor you have in the same. Keep it up, please. I remain gratefully entertained!

  • Nice shootin! Can see the 38s hitting the gong

  • not tryin to be smart but isnt it bad to dry fire

  • great shooting

  • Colt would make a HUGE amount of money if they started making these again. Awesome shooting, by the way.

  • Hey hickok. What kind of grips you got there? I have a mint 4" python I inherited.

  • @HuntHawaii808 Big Buck Enterprises he says at about 12:10 ish

  • @iNfx1 Thanks man.

  • I love the Python. It's so freaking beautiful. Question though, sorry if you covered it and I missed it...would you consider the Python "fragile", as it apparently has a reputation of being a fragile revolver (going out of timing, not handling the magnum rounds, etc.).

  • you can see the bullets. i never knew you could do that.

  • u r a great shooter. nice shots

  • this gun is one force! :D biggggg :D

  • You're a great shooter hickok

  • My father has 4 of them, 3 blued and 1 stainless. he has quite a few other revolvers but after feeling the action on the python being so buttery smooth It kind of spoiled me on revolvers.

  • First handgun I bought, been real sick , just getting back on my feet...love ur vids buddy...God healed me...:) Mark

  • subscribed :)

  • 6 in. blued python was the first handgun i ever shot. buddy loaded 5 .38s and a .357 mag for #6 and i almost dropped it. i would love to own one at some point.

  • I mentioned the Python to a local dealer, he was like, "Oh we've got some, they're in the safe..."

  • I was just wondering, how much would 6" or 4" barrel colt python be?

  • shot its way right into your heart!

  • My dad used to own one of these it was and is the "grail"

  • This is FPS Russias Grandpa

  • Dang your good at shooting for an old person are you a retired soldir or cop

  • @Ascenscion123, Yep, I'm almost the best shot at my Assisted Living condo. :-)

  • @hickok45 LMAO!!! Assisted Living condo, crackin me up. and i learn something new everyday, i thought all revolvers turned clock wise, had no idea smiths were reverse.

  • @hickok45 Who's number one?

  • @hickok45 I think you made me pee a little.

  • @Ascenscion123

.....9/10 old people shoot better than young people... Think about it.

They have shot more. The more you do something, the better you are at it naturally.

  • Hick0k45 - I've watched this video a few times and you've definitely been bitten! You "need" another Python!!!

  • Colt Python is my DREAM pistol.

  • lul u can see the lead before it hits the target

  • that poor dead animal ;______;

  • Hey hickok what gun have you fired that has the most recoil?

  • when he shoots the gong with the .38 special, you can see the bullet before impact

  • i shot 1 yesterday

  • My favourite sixgun! Very hard to find one here in Finland and if someone has one he doesn't want to sell it. I've shot one just like this one here belonging to a friend of mine with Pachmayer grips. Action is like in a Rolex-clock or something! My friend is an older guy so now I'm thinking how to make him sell his Python to me :D

  • For the new guys out there, does "grains" refer to the bullet or the powder load?
