My friend named Bobby came out to being gay to his best friend, Taylor (who is a boy, but they've known each other since they were in like kindergarden and Taylor moved in w/ Bobby cuz of abusive parents, so they're like brothers) and he was 15... His parents have always been super religious People Of Faith. They didn't accept him and pretty much said he was dead to them. He's 17 now and he purposely got into a car crash... He didn't die, but has amnesia and a lot of injuries...

Yeah that movie was simply amazing. I almost cried to the reactions of his family after they discovered bobbys suicide. And at the end when the mom hugged that boy who looked like Bobby. Best lifetime movie in my opinion.
the final half hour of that movie made me cry so much. T.T My family is strictly catholic, and i cant come out to them at all. Ive tried once before, and... well it ended with my friends mother calling dyfs (which didnt work...at all.) This book and movie just hit home. It got to me in the most major kind of way. That story makes me so sad and angry. A guy from my hometown killed himself because he was gay. He left a letter asking his family's forgiveness. I was so shocked when I found out a few years later (I moved away for school). The family never said anything and it is by a miracle that my brother found out and told me. Prayers for Bobby made me cry so much ... This film; and the book ... really conveys a strong message and delivers understanding to homophobic parents. My mum watched it after me and cried ... she changed, she now accepts me for being gay. I had thoughts of suicide until I watched this film, I couldn't put my mother through the pain, and making her watch this film helped her change. I recommend this film a thousand times over ... and the sad fact is, the film is based on a true story.

Ive tried once before, and... well it ended with my friends mother calling dyfs (which didnt work...at all.) This book and movie just hit home. It got to me in the most major kind of way. That story makes me so sad and angry. A guy from my hometown killed himself because he was gay. He left a letter asking his family's forgiveness. I was so shocked when I found out a few years later (I moved away for school). The family never said anything and it is by a miracle that my brother found out and told me. I could never speak to them again, when I visited. I knew his brother who is my age and I remember how he felt about gay men. I will always remember this kid's beautiful smile.

How do you know how may bisexual and gay people there are? The 2000 census is the only attempt to even count them.

People are not defined by their sex practices. They are defined by what they look like and their personality.
Almost nobody is 100% hetero or homo.
The real red flag is why are you so concerned about what others do anyway?

Love is love. But, all you want to do is stir up trouble and spread pain because you hurt.
Take a look at the 2000 and 2010 census (when it comes out) - lots of gay couples! (That doesn't even cover the gay singles.)

Many women and men are happily married with kids. Yet they have bisexual tendencies.
Who you are is who you are.
Your angry comments tell the whole world that you are struggling with bisexuality but you only want to be 100 percent straight as someone told you that they will hate you otherwise and you believed them.

@skyrocketguy You are ABSOLUTELY correct. I am a biologist. It has actually been shown that all primates are overwhelmingly bisexual and non-monogamous. This doesn't mean that we cannot be straight or monogamous in our actions, however the background is there. Oh wait I forget...religious people who condemn gays don't believe in evolution either so they'd just deny this all away :)

@judasantichrist1515 heres the problem, you've given a label, you do not have to be a biologist to know that most animals will have sex with anything while in some sort of heat. its instinctive. And sure its not entirely irregular for people to have feelings towards either sex. but there are also people who have feelings towards younger kids or younger kids with feelings for much older people. just because we feel something dosnt mean it is who we are, that it cant change, or that it should be

Prayers for Bobby made me cry so much ... This film; and the book ... really conveys a strong message and delivers understanding to homophobic parents. My mum watched it after me and cried ... she changed, she now accepts me for being gay. I had thoughts of suicide until I watched this film, I couldn't put my mother through the pain, and making her watch this film helped her change. I recommend this film a thousand times over ... and the sad fact is, the film is based on a true story.

the movie was very sad, I'm 34 years old and have seen quite a bit, it seems like every time we make a forward step in gay rights, the damn bible thumpers knock us back three steps, and a lot of the time our families are part of the problem. His mom might have had a change of heart but don't you think it was shit that he had to die for that to happen. if you cant change your familys veiws of gay people then how are you going to change the world? Just wondering..

"Prayers for Bobby" will make you weep for humanity. How humans with all their reasoning use imaginary beliefs to bring so much hate and pain to gain control of their society and condemn each other. And maybe, just maybe there are some Bobbies out there who will be able to live a full and happy life and bring joy to others, if only the veil of hatred stoked by ignorance can be lifted just ever so little.
