  • Genius homie. Absolutely brilliant. Show these cats some john stockton and kj. Better yet, show em some jeff malone or rolano blackman.....Man, gotta love and respect the old schoolers. Life changing dudes man

  • Also the ability to quickly catch and release midrange shots can be killer for a zone, especially a disciplined box1. Even if your best player beats his man and can take on the strong side low block guy, the help will come down from the strong side elbow and not from the weak side low block guy (thus still guarding the rim from layups) so you gotta be able to step into the vacated space and shoot from the foul line and if you make them like they were freethrows it wrecks their zone defense.

  • I love the midrange game, especially because it can break back of box 1 zone, the defense used in most rec league games. They run it because it usualy works by conceding threes to role players and unless your role player are great shooters you will not score enough and missed three turn into fast breaks easily.

Even if you are the guy who get guarded by the one you drive to the middle of the box and use a running hook to negate him and any help and it makes them play man or a looser zone.

  • Great Book Title because it is so true. Most fans want a Kobe or LeBron to just take over the game. You gotta be patient and move the ball and let the defense know that we ill pass and get everyone involved.

You stay disciplined for the first 3 and 1/2 quarters and with the other team knowing that you are willing to pass, they will stay home on your teammates and that is when Kobe "the Black Mamaba" can strike and use his vast skill set to take and make quality shots to close out the game.

  • Also how many steps do I take for both the one dribble and two dribble pull up,

and how do I explode in either direction the correct way

    Thanks coach

  • At 7:24, is that the correct footwork if youve established your left foot as your pivot, and lift your pivot first ?

Or is that a travel, Ive been playing with the midrange and I had problems with the correct footwork going right (being a right handed shooter)

    Someone please help

  • MJ aint a ball hog

  • this guy is very intelligent and i agree

  • This is why Kobe is still the best player in the world. His mid range game is simply the best out there and maybe the best we've seen. Wade and lebricks mid range games have nothing on Kobe's. Also kobe's post skills are amazing as well. While wade has some post moves, lebrick has none. His footwork when posting up is garbage. The CHEAT will lose in the 2nd round to the bulls or magic

  • Yep, players today such as LEBRON JAMES and DWYANE WADE don't have the mid range game at all. All they do is drive the ball in for a power dunk or a layup. The only player in the NBA right now that has that mid range game is KOBE BRYANT. KOBE has mastered the driving the ball in game already. The NBA right now is missing the MID RANGE game and also the LOW POST game. Not that much big men have the low post game except PAU GASOL, DUNCAN, and KG

  • @sactownism wade has "decent" midrange but doesnt use it as much especially this season because his forte is his drive. look up "wade midrange". kobe's forte is his shooting while wade is his drive. doesnt make any skill/arsenal lesser than the other. yes im wade's fan but just had to say it.

  • @sactownism What are u talkin about? He has d wade on the video.

  • I disagree with the video a just a little bit, step backs and cross over pull ups should be only be used by very talented players or when the shot clock is low. Midrange shots should mostly come from screen roll (when the dribbler is left open and can pull up or if the screener is left open and can spot up, this is especially good if the bigman can shoot banks), from spot ups out of double teams, in semi transition or when the defender is absolutely sagging while you are in triple threat.

  • I bought your book last week, just waiting for it to get to my house im looking forward to reading it!

  • i'm so glad you gave sam cassell props for his deadly mid-range game.

  • i think thats kobe at 2:12

  • @ShotaAmyMe25 thats coach godwin himself

  • KEEP IT UP!!! MAN GREAT VIDS AND I LOVED YOUR BOOK!!!

  • I was watching MJ film & 50 percent of his shots were from the midrange. This is a big part of scoring. And all great scorers, can make the midrange shot. Thanks alot!
