What a great trip. His friends should not be embarrassed, we were raised to be enemies. If Russians were in America back then I would have been suspicious of them too! :) I can't wait to see the 2008 version they have in the sidebar, to see how things have changed. It would be a lot of fun to take that trip and meet all those people.
5:26 ...wow that typical music ...why don't they just say "ching chong ching chong!?" I mean this docu is great for the inside glimpse in the railway which is my life long dream to travel on but they are so culturally biased and un-PC ... PBS produced this??? I'd love to see a russian production of a documentary on the same subject... just to hear it from their side! (don't worry, I still thumb it up for your posting it. spasiba)
Okay, I give up . I can no longer tolerate that snivelling American narrator. Sorry. Thanks for uploading the video, but I can't continue. Have a nice day, folks!
@michael918273645: Also I forgot to add that is America didn't fuck over other countries like they did to the Soviet Union they would just as technologically developed as the USA is today (thanks to scientists stolen from Germany in ww2). Don't forget who built the first satellite and sent the first man in to space was, I'll give you a hit, it wast America. Who knows if the moon landing wasn't just a product of your Hollywood.
@kalasnikov47 You seem to forget that the Western world have been a magnificent hub of innovation for more than 500 years. Yes Russian are tough people, they can fight, but you are hardly innovative and tecnologically advanced. Russian culture has got too much coruption and not enough resepect for creativity. What the Western world has got is creativity.
@fillosofert I have never heard something more ridicules, ironic and ignorant in my life, Russians have invented some of the most important and durable, innovative technology in history like the satellite and they even put the first man in to space, they have a giant Slavic culture and history full of creativity and art dating back thousands of years before your American colony was even established. The West is also creative but it’s not fair to say that it’s more creative then the East.
@fillosofert You dont seem to know much about culture. Russia has been the center of creativity for the 20th century. The Sovjet made a high priority of supporting art, much more than any western country do today. Thats why all the greatest composers, poets and musicians of the 20th century were all russians. Though political censur have been working against creativity, the economical support of art in Russia have been more crucial for the independency of creative thinking.
@michael918273645: Your supposed to put them under ground where they aren't affected by weather like wind, ice etc... like in Europe... Duh, this is what you should have done from the beginning, your cities looks like Russia the 18th century, anyway investing billions in that would be better then the war in the middle East which you lost anyway. If there would be no Goggle or PC, the computer was invented by Germany, microchip by Japan. If there want Goggle there would be something else.
@kalasnikov47: Best universities, the best university is Cambridge in the UK, I used Google ;). But the thing is, its not about who invented what its about the fact that Americans laugh at other countries and criticise other regimes when their own country is the cause of the most suffering in the world thanks to destroying communism, now people don't have food to eat and by starting pointless wars. You know why Russia is poor today and looks the way it does? Thanks to AMERICAN GREED!
Americans are the last ones who should talk about anything, I lived there and I saw how those primitive idiots still got electricity cables hanging on wooden poles around their "developed" cities full of drugs and shit. One day God will punish America
It sad that you hate one entire country for whatever reason it may be. There are very many good people in this country and many people from your country that live here as well, It is sad you say this because I have always wanted to visit Japan because of your beautiful culture and cuisine. I love my country regardless of there faults but it's not my government I love but the land that has seen me grow into what I am now. Despite what you say about my country I love it with all my heart & soul
There are many Ghettos in my country but there are ghettos in all countries of the world, so your comment about The United States of America is completely irrelevant. I am and I am sure that most people in my county realize that Russia has many beautiful places to see and visit. So far what I have seen I've liked and think is beautiful. It seems to me that you're the one that does not think Russia looks beautiful. and yes there are a lot of white trash people in this country, that is true indeed
Thanks for what? What's wrong with Americans doing a documentary about the Trans Siberian Railway, does it make a difference if Spain or Argentina would have done it, I don't think there was anything wrong with what the American reporter said. It was filmed by a public television station that is sponsored only by donations of the people and is commercial free, it is called PBS. It only covers documentaries from a educational point of view. Tell me, is that not the way the railway is in Russia?
Tell me, I want to know what it is you hate so much? Is it the people or the government you hate? Have you ever been here? Do you only listen to the bad things your country has to say about mine?
Yes I've been it's just like I said since America and Russia are not very good friends America make videos of bad parts of Russia like crime this and stuff... You know what forget it but I do like America in some ways but I hate the south the African Americans that are Nig*ers and some other stuff I like the North
TonyFirelli, you may not like African Americans for thats your right but to call them such a term as you have done in such a public format shows very poor tast. I would ask you to try more to see past these stereotypes of the Black community and look at their cool cultural history and the many wonderful things they have given to all of us. Their early music for example (Blues and jazz) has helped shape modern rock.
@akseakayaker I love that stuff jazz... My dad plays that and other things they invented. but I hate black pimps and black guys that go around doing nothing with guns and shoot... getos
yes, even the other Blacks hate the ones who do that stuff. But its not just Blacks who do drive by shootings. These gangs are Mexican, Asian ect. and if you ever go into redneck america you will find whites who act like assholes also. All ethnic grounps are resonsible for this crap. Poverty is apex in Black communitys so its natural that with poverty you also have high levels of crime
@akseakayaker Thanks for your answers. If everyone was more like you, it would'nt be so much hate and conflicts. Even i was about to use "bad words" in a comment to "TonyFirelli", until i read your posting.!! Thanks again.
Russia is my dream country and I may be traveling it soon. But America is awesome, whatever people say about America, my personal experience (during 1 yrs stay there) has been wonderful. I like US and US people.
very fasiciating indeed I was just over there but on a new train basiclly a luxury train the Trans Siberian Golden Eagle 15 days of the most interesting scenery and lifestyle I have expierenced being American
well my trip was booked through the society of International railway travelrs as I said 15 days long on a luxury train not the everyday train you see here and I will try not to shock you $20,000 dollers American but that includes the room mine being gold class there are two more classes to choose from silver or vintage the lower the class the less the price of course and it includes the tours and a trip down to Mongolia too I ran from Vladavostok to Moscow

I can't understand why they're using Caucasian (the Caucasus) music? Siberia and Caucasus are two different "points"on the map of Russia... 01:15

Не, ну Вы не правы. Всё вполне объективно. Более того, хочу сказать что всё не так-то и плохо, как я думал.
Конечно, показанное - не уровня США, но что Вы хотите при такой коррупции?
