  • il take the stove but skip the grub thanks

  • Good video. Do you find that the solid fuel cubes leave a messy residue on the pot ? I've tested these cubes in the past. They are light weight and last just long enough to boil water. They are also great for getting a hard to start campfire going. But the mess they leave on the pot was just unacceptable.

    Thxs for sharing.

  • I have this exakt stove. Great for one person or as a backup emergency stove, but I agree that MSR Pocket Rocket (or such) is better (and bigger) and faster if You are cooking for more then one person.

    Great video, thx.

  • How much water did you boil in this demo?

  • @zakiwi1 about 16 oz or 400 ml.

  • Thank you , great video , more please.

  • This is a PERFECT demo, thank you!

  • If I were out in the field for a few days I would choose the MSR Pocket Rocket over this stove, only because with cannister stoves you can cook for a long time without having to add cubes every 8 minutes. Particularly if I'm cooking for several people, however this stove is *great* for a quick cup of coffee/tea or soup on the trail.

  • Do you prefer this over something like an msr pocketrocket.

  • Hi nice video and very usefull, does a trangia stove fit inside the windshield?

  • @paraglide01

The Trangia stove fits inside the windshield, however, I'm not sure it would work because if I place the pot on the pot stand, the pot rests on the lip of the trangia stove. Esbit probably designed it that way so you'd have to upgrade to the Spirit Stove Set. They are both great stoves.

  • @ricksageek

Yes, a 32 oz. Nalgene fits the pot perfectly, however, it does not fit inside the stove piece.

  • Great Video, but can u use "one egg wonder pan " on this stove?

  • Can you use wood twigs in this stove?

  • @terrydodson58

I suppose you could, but the windsheild is very small so I don't think you could get enough twigs in to make a suitable cooking fire. It might work, but it would take a constant feed of twigs. I should experiment with your idea. Thanks for posting.

  • sorry 2nd question. will the pot or stove snuggly fit on the bottom of a 32 oz nalgene bottle? Thanks

  • @Mecha04

No, it's a very small pot.

  • @Mecha04

CORRECTION! Yes, a 32 oz. Nalgene fits the pot perfectly, however, it does not fit inside the stove piece.

  • will the flames coming out of the stove melt the plastic on the handles for the cup?

  • @Mecha04

That is a good question. I purposely use pots and cups with metal handles to avoid melting. I would imagine it could possibly melt plastic handles. What pot/cup are you using?

  • I have this cook kit in one of my emergency bags so I haven't really used it much. Loved seeing it in action cooking the beef stew. I like your content as well as your production. What video editing program do you favor? With much appreciation...Laurie

  • Looks like a well sorted little cooking set bar the fuel tray. I am convinced they serve no positive purpose other than to encourage sales of the original fuel (other tablet fuels are available) because it fits so nicely. IME of fuel tablets a more complete burn is possible with a more ventilated setup (no tray). This can mean quicker boils and better economy of fuel. For 12oz water you should not need more than 1/2 of a 14g Esbit tablet, which I would break into two for that size pot base.

  • That cook kit looks nice. I like those Mountain House meals.(no cleaning) I dont like the price though.
