Nakheed canceled all other mega projects and Nakheed Tower. I think Burj Dubai will be the tallest for at least a decade, and maybe two if the Chinese don't make one taller in the coming 20 years

Currently there is no other taller project approved for construction. Many around 600m+ are getting built or will be built in the near future though, like Shanghai tower, the complex in Mekka and Tokyo Sky Tree. If no building taller than the Burjj starts in the next couple of years, it will hold the record for at least a decade, taking into account construction time.

Actually In Dubai you can have a drink and you can sun bath with your wife as much as you want. But i agree with you. They need to decide. OK are we going to be 100% west style and no Islamic bullcrap or we are gonna go Islamic ans stuff. If they want money they need tourism.....
