It sounds the same on the WRX and the Forester. I personally went through about 7 different exhaust set ups looking for the tone I was most comfortable with. I ended up sticking with the SPT because it's not too loud to attract the fuzz and you still get the rumble especially at WOT. Its also not as expensive like most of the other manufacturers. If you do get an exhaust citation just take the Subaru brochure to your court appeal and say its a OEM part. (In MA "aftermarket" exhausts are illegal)
its already out. what you would buy now is a MY10 forester with 09 stamps apart from that they are the same. the MY10 you get a few freebies like reverse cam and chrome tail pipes etc on the 09 these were extra.
Great sound! Just got my XT and I think SPT exhausts will be a good choice. Do you mind letting me know where you got it and is there is a part number for that? And if it's possible to have a drive-by on a smooth surface, the sound of stones and twigs drown out the full sound of the exhaust notes =P
From what I read, the 2008 WRX sedan and the 2009 Forester XT are 99% the same mechanically. The exhaust I am using is the SPT exhaust for the 2008 WRX, which fit my Forester XT perfectly.
Nice dude. I'm getting a black 2.5X 5 speed on Dec 22. Not like I could afford it, but I wouldn't get the turbo because it doesn't come in a manual. Your exhaust sounds awesome. I'm interested in a ballpark cost on that if you don't mind.
Thnx a lot! The turbo version does not come with a sunroof yet so I'm waiting...and waiting...and watching all the forester videos on youtube...but I think it's worth it!I realy want this car :)
I think both of the Forester XT models have the giant sunroof. I know a lot of people have issues with the 4-speed automatic, but with the 4.44:1 axles.
With a freer flowing exhaust - it feels far more responsive than with the stock exhaust, which in my opinion is very very restrictive.
I am toying with the thought of adding a K&N drop in high-flow air filter.
I'll see what I can do. I have heading up to the mountains this week, and at the place I go to, we have our own private road. I might not get to 100km (~60mph), but I will have some decent acceleration clips. Stay tuned.
is it manual

Nice. Think I'll get that for my xt limited :) should go nice with the Cobb tuner. Still trying to find the nicer grill though

I want an XT soooo much.

Love the XT's, but man, gas mileage sucks, especially since it requires SUPER, and Super Unleaded is creeping up to past $4.00/gallon now! :-(

wish they kept the xt sports 07-08 shape...

Its that an axle back exhaust. If so is the replacement exhaust just the pipe and resonator?

I ordered the SPT Exhaust for the 2008 WRX Sedan. It fit my '09 Forester XT perfectly.

It's loud, and drones a lot. Click on my user name and watch other videos by me, I have several.

So basically, you've done an exhaust upgrade? Curious, are Impreza and Forester parts generally interchangeable?
Love the sound. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I got it for $333, with the promotion Subaru ran on the SPT Exhaust last summer.
