@luciobar1980 It does. It is not in the same generation as the first zelda game, it is more on par with Atari 2600 games (or other MSX games of course). It is like comparing Ocarina of time with average NES titles - different generations.

The NES port came out years after the original release.

Wow, I have been scouring the internet for this game all day (went through a whole list of screenshots to find it!) And I find it hilarious that you find the same nostalgic value in this game that I have. I remember playing it week after week trying to get ANYWHERE within the game. I would always rent from the local rental store in the small town that I grew up in.

I will never forget this game and how my brother got stuck trying to find a way into a castle! That has been almost 20 years ago with no internet or strategy guides for this game. We used to joke about what the castle looked like on the inside because he'll never see it hehe.

Yeah, the NES is just a port or re-release. Was on MSX and other computer systems, and is comparable to games of that era. Like space invaders.

I tried playing this game once many years ago, but couldn't figure out what the heck was going on (it was way before the advent of internet FAQs)...

I don't think it should be necessary to need to level up to mimic the effects of "Hey! Look over there!" for a turn spell, but I guess it beats having to figure charisma modifiers and crap...

Yeah most people had that response. I remember going "what am i supposed to do" because all of the dungeon areas kill you at level one. I guess it is an early attempt at an open ended game.
