nutn, thank you for this series. i was on the fence with army and airforce, now ive made up my mind to go usaf, thank you sir for your service and for being an inspiration in my life. your story of first aid helped push to become an emt so i could help my fellow man and now to take the biggest step of my life, thanks brother. keep cranking out the vids !
Thank you for your dedication, your service and your willingness to perserve our way of life by sacrificing your way of life. I feel indebted to all of you brave men and women who wear the uniform of our proud military. God Bless you and God Bless the USA.
Kinda scary how we have mutual interests. USAF crash rescue 1983-90 ( Im must be a little older than you ) RAF Lakenheath, Randolph AFB ( loved the ariel photo at the end of the video ) and Mather AFB. I still can't read enough about the airmen of the 56th and 365th in their p-47s (round engine noise is amazing ), a generation we would have a tough time measuring up to.
Do you still fly in civilian life? When you fly for a living can it still be a passion and not just a vocation?
As a long time TNPer and former USAF officer, I have never commented on a vid; just posted thumbs up for them. This is one that made me laugh out loud and has increased my respect even more for Nutn, Buggett, and the rest... Another great philosophy vid that will continue to make a difference. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your lessons and stories with us and thank you for serving the US Military! You have done a great service to protect our freedoms and way of life, even with the KC-130s. They keep our jets rollin' towards any threat, anytime, anywhere!
At the same time, it's a shame to see political correctness permeating even the National Guard. Such a thing puts responsibility at a premium and should be rolled back to common sense ASAP.
What is the reasoning for the Air Force and the Navy having two different methods for air to air refueling....sometimes a big problem w some of our allies and the sharing of resources since the planes are specifically designed for one method or the other.
Political Correctness is a cancer that is destroying this country, in civil society and the military and it needs to be destroyed. Equal Justice for all not Social Justice where you think you deserve something because of afermative action. No one owes you a damn thing.

Greetings from a RCAF Officer-Cadet currently attending the Royal Military College. I showed your Air Force Stories video to alot of my buddies here at the college and we think you could give us alot of good advices regarding our futur carreers. I have myself been a TNPer for a year now and I think it is by far the best channel on youtube ! Keep on the good work and long live TNP !
Couldn't agree more that the guard and reserve are becoming PC just like active duty. I've spent time on active duty and currently hold a position as an AGR. The guard and reserve I believe are more effective and harder working than our active duty counter parts in the day to day operations as well as in the AOR. The new PC mandates are driving many away from the military...
Absolutely love yr vid nutn, these air force insights are incredible.!!!thank u so much for spending so much time to put all this together. Keep it up.
This series was by far the best thing I have ever seen on youtube. I wish there had have been more officers with your mentality around when I was in. Listening to your stories reminded me of things I had forgotten about. Keep up the good work with TNP and thank you for serving.
Agree w u re TX entry. Flew into one over SVN in a BUF in 1969. (2AM, FL330, in the s***, #2 in the cell, dropping on lead with station-keeping radar, so couldn't see more than 5nm out. PTT was briefed for release+30sec. Lead turned immed after release but we pressed on. Lead could see the storm cell 5 miles past tgt but didn't tell us. We bought the ticket and took the ride!) Long story short: BUF was wrecked and we barely made it to our diversion base. STAY OUT OF BOOMERS!
Wish I had served with more officers like you during my 8 years in the Army from 1972 to 1980. Some of them just didn't get it. So true about not wearing flip-flops. When I try to tell people about that I just get the deer in the headlights look. You do an oustanding job for the gun community! Keep up the good work!...Hoping for a Troy gift cert....my AR needs a new rail.
Wow...it is 1:45 AM And I have watched part 1 and 2 days ago. So all of the sudden my phone goes off and I'm like who is calling me at this time.(I'm also getting ready to go to bed after your video) I look at it and it's my older brother so I answer. He's asking for a ride in the next half hour around 2:15am. I look over and see you because I paused the video. I said to myself "what would Nutnfancy do?" and I told my brother I would pick him up. Get my share of work in! USMC Boot Camp May 14th!
Thanks for taking the time to put this video set together. Enjoyed the insight and honesty. I did not serve in the military, but have a great respect for those who have - and will. Thanks. (if things had worked out - it would have been Air Force for me)
Bottom line, I retired before I wanted to at the age of 45. I miss my guys and they miss me but the system just chewed me up more than the Iraq deployment did......Said!
I hear Nutnfancy, I'm a 22 year Army vet. I spent my years as well in the reserve as well . I 2003 I was deployed to Iraq. ( months away from retirement) But I sucked it up and went anyway, as I should as a warrior should. Well anyway, to make a long story short, I understand your statement about "NONSENSE" in the miltiary. The nonsense cost me my final promotion( which i earned prior to my deployment). It also could have gotten my guys killed as well ( from weak leadership of my superiors). I
Man I wish we'd had internet and something like to this to draw from back when I did my "värnplikt" (eng; obligatory basic training in the swedish army) so I'd gotten a better idea of everything involved in the service. If I had it presented to me like this I'd probably made more of an effort to progress rather than counting the days til I "got out".
Big thanks for a very engaging and entertaining series! A+!

Man, the political correctness in the Army is the same. It drives me nuts. I swear that the army has quotas they have to fill for females and minorities, which lets garbage soldiers get through. Promote people by their skills and actions. NOT by their gender or skin color.
Thanks (as always) for sharing these important life experiences and the decision-making process behind them! I think what is of great significance is the point you make of wanting to give back to one's country for the freedoms it extends to its citizens, i.e. via military service. If we could only impart that attitude into our current economic (and un-employment/jobs) situation! This is in direct opposition to corporate greed that makes one dependent on its various implementations..._M11
Much thanks and respect for your service! Thanks also for your insight and knowing how important is is to record your experiences and relay them. Reminds me of what Jeff Cooper said about writing it down or it never happened once you are gone. By doing this you have shared and educated not just you current viewers but all you care to learn in the future.

Slim's accent almost ruined the joke : ) Loved that one the the carrier story. If only you were able the get that shot. Thanks for the memories & more over thanks for your service.
Fantastic series of videos. I was actually wondering what your advice would be to someone who was thinking about military service. These videos answered that question.
Man I love your stories , tell, were you in Bodo, Norway back in '95 for the "Strong Resolve" exersise ? . I was crew on RNoAF F-16's at the time and got a ride in a KC-135. I don't remember what unit it was, But I remember a cupple of the tanker guys that was stationed there for the exersise and you very much remind me of one of them.
you a really humble guy im only 16 but my dad is a squadron leader in the RAAF and im sure he understands what its's like to be away from us. I hope to join and have some great stories for my kids by the time im your age
Cool story bro. Not one Nutnfancy video on SOPA? Sad that it is the online gaming community that is on the front lines of fighting SOPA. While the gun community has the usual blinders on. Hey bros! There is more than the second amendment in the US Constitution. The first amendment is under imminent attack. Go to Google's website right now.
Great series Nut'n. Thanks for your service to our country and for these awesome stories, pics, and experience. I have a new found appreciation and understanding of what you are all about.
What do you call the song in the beginning and end of this video? I'm sure you've said it before but I'd really like to know if I can get it somewhere.
Nutnfancy I love your videos I find myself wasting hours watching them instead of probably studying for school, but because of your videos I have purchased the sog Aegis the Sog Twitch and the Cold steel Spartan, and now I am trying to add the sog pentagon and although you have mentioned it you haven't reviewed it yet I'm not pushing you but if you could make that knife review soon that would be fantastic.
I have been doing Acft maint for AF for quite awhile and let me tell you, real pilots like you are becoming far and inbetween. Before it was a "your flying it not buying it" philosphy. Now it's "is this paint chip okay?"
Listening to your stories is giving me additional info for my cross training. Both for the mentality to have going into the new jobs and which job I should go for. One of the 6 on my list in In-Flight Refueling. I know it isnt the same as flying the tankers but it does sound pretty cool none the less. Right now just waiting for Flight Med to clear my package and we will see from there. Thanks for the vids! They are a help and fun to watch.
@ItalianAnaconda And by the way... I am so with you on PC. I presonally feel there is place for it in the military. Heck at times I am not sure there is a place for it in life. Things are what they are. No need to fluff it to make sure it doesnt hurt someone when they fall.
I have never served but still my motto remains: fearless, humble, doer and having fun, sounds like your just the same, a man of integrity and that i can respect. Those are the key words i want people to identify me with. And i live by those words, they are whats keeping me going, no BS just getting the job done! I cant stand the BS'ers they are slow and BORING! Thanks for leading as a good example nutn!
I saved my commentary for the last part. Best 2 1/2 hrs I've spent in a long time, let me tell you!! As you said during the videos, some, (or much) of your philosophy and life experience can be applied to the everyday, military or otherwise. All three parts were fantastic! I'm sure there's a ton more I could say about it. But instead I'll just say - Awesome job! Thank you for your service!
Good example, cruise ship runs aground in Italy killing a yet undetermined number of people, the rumor is the Captain was showing off, yeah, right before he FLED THE SHIP. Quiet professional? I think not.
Nutn... Watched all three vids back -to-back in one sitting. What can I say? Thank You! Thanks for your military service. Thanks for sharing that with this series. Thanks for the TNP project. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Thanks for the inspiration, the advice, the philosophy, the honest reviews, the adventure videos. Thanks for sharing Allie "The Mountain Dog" with us. Thanks for being a friend. You're the real deal my friend. Semper Fi, from a fellow vet.
Thank for sharing this with us, Nutnfancy - love your work and I glad that you were one of those who stepped up. All the best for your life after the Airforce.
Watched all three vids...at the end of them I almost shed a tear.
I was told I would not be a pilot at the tender age of 10. Dreams crushed.
Yepper, got my first pair of glasses. And even after college they would not take correctable to 20/20. I came from two generations of Air Force on mom's side.
Twenty-five years later, I can still remember all the hours of T38 & T37 sim time mom used to get my brother and I when she worked for Northrop out at Vance Air Force Base. Rock On!
@Post1036 Absolutely. I'm a Boom Operator on the KC-10. -135s aren't very large aircraft so they don't put out much wake, it might affect fighters a little but their thrust ratio and aerodynamics are so strong it won't matter much. Larger planes would definitely make the -135 rock a little bit.
I really enjoyed this series. I especially liked the way you integrated the stories to highlight your philosophic lessons. I am at the beginning of my career but am already starting to see some of the subjects you have touched on. Thank you for being a role model of the quiet professional that speaks up when it is right and knows how to have fun too. Thank you for sharing your stories and thank you for your service.
Good stories I was in 21 years and 19 days. I was on a C-130 headed to Okinawa from Korea and we did an Air to Air Refuel pretty cool, was you ever stationed at Minot ND ? I was up there for a visit of my Brother-in-law. Anyway good stories....
@shanwade The air force has a National Guard component as does the army. The Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines all have a reserve component also... I think the Coast Guard even has a reserve component. The main difference between the reserves and the National Guard is that the reserves are under the control of the federal government and the National Guard is under the control of the Governor of the state in which that unit resides.
Dude, don't stop...this trio of vids must rank as being amongst the best of the best you've done, imvho. Lurved every minute of it. What a great life you've been blessed with; and sorry to learn about your little one (RIP) who was called early to rest in the arms of angels.
God bless you and yours! And thanks for sharing such wonderful memories of a life truly lived to the full.
I was awestruck how well produced and entertaining this Airforce Stories series was... Your best video series to date bar none..... Hey would it be too much to ask if you could post what artist/title is being played at the intro and ending of this video?... Would love to have that song on my ipod.
I've got a full blow man crush now. bucket list addition, shooting with this guy!

Rock On!

Hay Nutn, does the wake of the KC-135 affect the planes during and pending refueling?
Post1036 1 month ago
@Post1036 Absolutely. I'm a Boom Operator on the KC-10. -135s aren't very large aircraft so they don't put out much wake, it might affect fighters a little but their thrust ratio and aerodynamics are so strong it won't matter much. Larger planes would definitely make the -135 rock a little bit.

Little confused, where you in the Air Force or in the National Guard or both?
shanwade 1 month ago
@shanwade
I might have missed some details here and there in these, BUT yes Nutnfancy did some service and training in Air National Guard.
check nutn's uniform. He has the Air National Guard patch in the uniform, its the patch with that musketman and aircraft in the background
steelpanther88 1 month ago
@shanwade The air force has a National Guard component as does the army. The Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines all have a reserve component also... I think the Coast Guard even has a reserve component. The main difference between the reserves and the National Guard is that the reserves are under the control of the federal government and the National Guard is under the control of the Governor of the state in which that unit resides.
