  • my grade 3 school concert brought me here :)

  • Guess something good had to come out of Russia besides spawning revolutions, creating dictators & fostering oppression.

  • To everyone wondering, kind of best original russian recording is /watch?v=LVQ3TplZxMA

    Cheers from Russia!

    :))

  • good to see that russian culture is not so dead yet

  • and not a freaking terrorist in the sky

  • Pretty damn good stuff.

  • i love this song <3

  • very nice

  • power rangers!!!!!!EPIC!!!!!

  • @2841peanutbutter really ?

  • Ha! Initially I thought it is translation from Russian, but it looks like it was actually stolen - lyric is quite different.

  • I wonder, if she even pointed out that this was remake of Russian Song?or she decided that during the Cold War she can not bother copyright? outrageously

  • Great video, It really goes well with the song.

  • omg i loved that show when i was a kid

  • Comment removed

  • It was the very first record I´ve bought when I was only three years old...now I´m 45 and I still know it word by word...and nowadays I love heavy metal :-)

the song has been released by mary hopkin with big success in 1968.

  • The song is beautiful! The 3rd World power rangers are ugly like hell!

This song and these ugly rangers should not be combined in the first place!

  • i'd like to hear this song sung is Russian. Before everyone screams at me that the Russian song has the same tune but different lyrics, why can't i read the comments, i'm so stupid, blah, blah, blah, i have heard the Russian original, but would like to hear THIS song, with THESE lyrics, translated into Russian and sung to the same tune.

  • @Zoomoth9000

Come on, this version is real dull. Well, maybe... k, good for the West. Russians are more choosy.

  • yeah..."We fight and never lose"...That fits our rangers.

  • YES!! Those were the days. OH....How we laughed and what fun we had. I remember listening to Mary Hopkins sing this song on the radio driving to a distination.....Those were the days.

Also: I would hear this song, in the background, of Oscars Drive-In Restaurant eating a hamburger and frenchfries....played on an old fashioned jupebox. Those were the days.

  • YES!! Those were the days. OH....How we laughed and what fun we had. I remember listening to Mary Hopkins sing this song on the radio driving to a distination.....Those were the days.

  • I Love this song very much:-) reminds me when i was 7 years old were playing and listening this beautiful song with my sisters and my friends:) tThose were the Days..... my friends:-)

  • Thank you! It gave me so much memories when i was child! Beautiful dreams of child!

  • it's russian song

  • Wonderful effort on behalf of the song, but power rangers?? come on really! That had to be about the cheapest, most poorly crafted series, that I had to suffer through for the sake of my little girl. I was happy when she finally got old enough to notice how chintzy it was!

  • Was that Power Rangers in the video?

  • @stafylides

Yeah I think it's a goodbye power rangers tribute video :*-(

  • If your not a power rager democrate when your young you have no heart.

Oh boy do i wish he stil be here 'gostaria tanto que meu pai estive agora aqui' :)

  • So appropriate lolol xD awesome.

    Linda cancao.

  • What is a T/K relationship?

  • @OhOhBe Tommy/Kimberly... the Pink and Green Ranger characters from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers

  • I always feel to cry when I hear this song.

  • @ponpokopon1 why... its more than less is song of hpainess!

  • This is a great song. Unfortunately the creators of this romance Boris Fomin and Konstantin Podrevskii are forgotten and they are almost never mentioned on the records

  • @igfe1632

But Podrevskii didnt write the lyrics to "those were the days" they were written by an American Gene Raskin, 'Days... and "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" (Дорогой длинною) are completely different songs.

  • @richpat "Completely different songs" have completely the same melody. If Mr.Raskin wrote the English lyrics for English speaking audience, we can just thank him for popularization of this nice Russian song. The composer, Boris Fomin (1900-1948) would be happy to know, that so many people in the world love his music.

  • @Ruk8mini "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" and "those were the days" share the melody only, Raskin did NOT translate "Dorogoy dlinnoyu" The words have no similarity whatsover and that is what I am trying to say.

  • @richpat Give up to Americans. Americans only know the weak-kneed Raskin/Hopkins version, which should be, given its origins, be "Where have all the beatniks gone?". Raskin was a hunk of junk. The average American thinks Дорогой длинною translates to the Raskin title. The words to the Russian song are beautiful even in English translation. Raskin's words are self-pitying crap. When I heard the Hopkins song in 1969, I almost threw up!

  • @whitedogsrule Well, give us the translation to the original Russian words rather than complaining. We're all interested and love the music.

  • Everyone knew the original pink ranger was the hottest!

  • interesting that this person chose tommy and kimberly but when i saw this show i new they would be together

  • who is the actress for the pink ranger?

  • @pitot1988 Pink ranger was played by Amy Jo Johnson.

  • power rangers.... yea those were the days alright. I remember craving to watch it long time ago though now i wonder why.

  • The song is nice.

You piece of retarded shit leeching off is however not.

Posting abusive messages to random peeps is no excuse.

Even if it is Ron White.

    No.

  • She's not a brit, welsch or w/e you like to get credit for.

Never was, her accent is clear.

  • @Rhynn1 What do you mean she's not a Brit, last time I looked Wales was still part of Britain. I think what you mean is she's not English.

  • the best song ever

  • I heard this song many yrs. ago sung by Edith Piaf. I have looked but have never found it again.

  • Nice, clever video for a great olde song! Nice editing in syncopation with the song too! Cheers!

  • You drink beer at a tavern - not milkshakes damnit! :P

  • @ElPrezAU what the hell is a tavern??? power rangers home base??

  • @joeycena13 it is a medieval bar or pub

  • @ElPrezAU This is a Russian tavern however, the milkshake comes standard with much Vodka.

  • @ElPrezAU hahahahaha that cracked me up..damnit!! :P

  • Would you know who is the singer here? It's not the original recording. But the voice is very similar.

  • @Pmfried How old are you ? not original , realy think your wrong, who else would it be, and why ?

  • i always try not to cry while listening this amazing song

  • I was in my early teens at home in Wales. I made a freindship to last a lifetime, we could not have been closer if we had been brothers. We went through so much together as we grew, good and bad, though much more good whatever life through at us.

Years went by , I moved to London, we both started families. I would visit home . We would get together in the "TAVERN" and the years sliped back.and it was as "YEASTERDAY" again no differant at all , truly.

He died unexspectantly I now listen

  • @lynnpam1

  • The busy years are a curse.

  • Where did this song originate? I heard this was an old Russian folk song.........is this correct? And changed the words to westerner type of theme.

  • @MJDickson69 "Those Were the Days" is a song credited to Gene Raskin, who put English lyrics to the Russian song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" ("Дорогой длинною", lit. "By the long road"), written by Boris Fomin (1900-1948) with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevskii. -wikipedia

  • @DasModell2 nice info!

  • @MJDickson69 yes it was it was wrote and composed by boris fomin

  • lol this is not McCartney song. originally a russian poem put tu russian music in the 20's. plenty folk artist in greenwich village did this song early 60's.

  • max, does this song date bakc to the russian revolution?

  • imagine was from around bolshevik era. wiki the song it tells you its history. The music is from russian gypsy song and the words from russian poet

  • it's not a paul mccartney song..its a (russian) gypsy song.

  • @lordraven1980 its mccartney lyrics to russian tune like he done with golden slumbers in the beatles

  • @scott29298 : no its Gene Raskins lyrics, he wrote the english lyrics. mccartney produced Hopkin's recording. mccartney didn't write the lyrics nor did he create the original melody.

  • How beautiful!
