  • The advantage of this show in Florida is you don't have to wait for hours to see the show. The doors open up an hour before, so you can take your time getting there. In California people start "camping out" along the rivers of America 4-5 hours ahead of time. That's insane.

But California's show is much better because it's at a much grander scale. They use the Columbia sailing ship and the Mark Twain as part of the show. It's great!

  • I like this one way better it uses more villains, it shows way more of the movies, and the stage is way better.

  • The wind was so powerful that some of the fireworks were off, including the final mickey goodbye spark, which was a disneyland kind of bang so we saw mickey go down...wow the wind plays a role

  • The best thing about the WDW one are the seats.Disneyland's is much better. They should do what was originaly planned in WDW&add scenes from live action movies.A Maelstrom from Pirates? The boulder from Inidana Jones?Or chimney sweep dance from Mary Poppins?I think they should keep a lot of the animated stuff,&cut some(I.E. the Pocahontas&Lion King scenes - they make no sense).Rumor has it they're getting rid of the Indiana Jones show there anyway, this would be a way to recycle the boulder&sets.

  • I do think Fantasmic! is a good stage show to end the day, but I really like the one in Dinseyland more bacause they added Peter Pan with the pirate ship and the Mark Twain as the ending boat instead of Steemboat Willie. I loved how you guys added the commentary though, it was fun to watch!

  • its hard to hear the commentary

  • wow thats all i can say, is wow

  • omg all these people do is complain about this complain about that its walt disney world! not disneylan! god! just enjoy the show for heavens sake

  • Hey fortuosity, we never said that they should use the Mark Twain--we just think that the PVC-pipe tugboat is a bit sad looking. Also, we never said that the newer movies should no be in there, but they were added very poorly--especially if you know the original soundtrack; the editing work is horrible.

  • well that sad looking boat was to be similar to steamboat willie. which is more disney than mark twains boat lol. since u say it in DL first you prob prefer it over this one which is cool. i like the wdw version better because the pyro is better, the water effect is unmatched and the whole stage is larger especially at the end with soceror mickey. in the end both shows were made by the same production studios so that east coast comment is incorrect.

  • Umm welll, did you guys still enjoy the WDW one, bc that one was my fav, but i still love the disneyland one, but i also love the WDW one

  • "Oh, no! People are getting hurt! This is a Disney show!" boo-hoo :/

  • You guys suck. First, why would they use the Mark Twain if the show's in MGM. Second, Frollo was in Hunchback and Pocahontas is an awesome movie. Third, the reason why there's no Peter Pan or Jungle Book is because Eisner wanted to put newer movies into this Fantasmic and Peter Pan may be better than Pocahontas but Lion King is better than Jungle Book.

  • You got that right, fortuosity! At some degree, they suck. What you said about then-CEO Michael Eisner requesting these films to be added into Disney-MGM's attraction is correct.

  • Lion King was the highest grossing film of all the Disney animated films of the 90s.

  • well your high and gross and you think that one of the best films of disney is Horrible ( you sicken me! )

  • oh and that was a response to twist58 about lion king

  • about them amrk twain your right bc they would only build it for the show and in DL they had it just so you can go on it but then they htought about using it in fantasmic sheesh some ppl are so rude about the ending

  • if dlp, tdl, and hkdl had a fantasmic show of their own, would you want them to be different than the two present shows?

  • haha i couldn't help but crack up when you two were shocked by the the lion king music when ur expecting the DL version. I had the same reaction when i saw it live, and i definatley prefer Disneyland's fantasmic over this. This show i feel is completly lost without the amazing peter pan segment.

  • i know

  • The video would be better without the stupid comments from those running a so called "commentary". Why not leave Disney to do its job and let the kid come out in all of us!

  • Because we can't let "Disney" do it's job. We are Disney Cast Members and we do make the magic on a regular basis.

  • They added "Mulan" into this attraction because Disney/MGM Studios opened this "Fantasmic!" in 1998, in turn it was not just the most recent film during this attraction's opening, but the fact that "Mulan" was created entirely in this very same theme park.

  • put some magic back into your lives! This is still an amazing show. No this is nothing like the one at Disneyland, but who cares. This has it's own flow and I really enjoyed it!

  • brodkin :) When you mentioned if anyone still remembers "Pocahontas" (I certainly do), that was the first Disney animated film to be based on fact, not fiction!

  • Hey, brodkin! I know you can hear me! Why not answer? When this video was still being filmed, was that your first time watching it? I'm a die hard "Fantasmic!" fan of both CA. and FL. because it was what made half of the Square Enix/Disney video game, "Kingdom Hearts" possible (the other half was from a Japanese video game designer and the other from an American Disney animator).

  • Disney is intended for the young and young at heart. It is intended for those who believe in magic and imagination. Allow a little pixie dust back into your lives you two, and try to see Disney through the eyes of a child. What you will leave with is a much more positive experience and a warmer heart.

  • To the people that uploaded this video, was that your first time watching MGM's version during that visit? If so, then it was kind of obvious that everything is completely different than the one in Disneyland's.

  • Sorry for ignoring you, but I wasn't. My junk filter was blocking comment notifications. Anyway... To answer your question, the filming was the second time I had seen the show at WDW and the commentary was done over a watch of the video on a third time. BTW, note I never said that it should not be different--it's not good. That's the difference.

  • Its a fantastic show. You guys are never open to it, if you didnt have such a negative attitude, you would have gotten much more out of it. Its disney world, its not about being perfect, its about creating a magical environment for kids.

  • Well, that is part of the point. It's Disney World and they are not perfect as a whole. Disneyland can be great for kids and near perfect at the same time.

  • You guys make my giggle. I agree with A LOT of what you said, but I DO like the movie Pocahontas despite the historical butchering...and yes I do rememember Judge Claude Frollo...but I hated the part of Pocahontas they put in, wtf lets just see people kill each other and have pocahontas stand there for THREE SECONDS...lame...as much as I love the movie thats NOT what should of replaced Peter Pan---which is the BEST part of fantasmic. You guys rule!

  • So before you start hacking on this too much, I'll remind you it's the same imagineers that made both shows. And, they're based in LA. Also, like it or not, Disneyland's Fantasmic, while classic, is outdated. Yah, there's some awkward edits in the track, but come on. And, to be honest, I'm glad it's a little different.

  • You can be happy if you like, it just doesn't have the same magic. You have to remember that the inspiration for the show is Fantasia which certainly does not suffer from the same awkwardness. The other problem is that they tried to patch a show rather than reinvent it. As a theatre industry insider, I can say that there are many technical mistakes in the presentation as well.

  • I beg to differ on the awkwardness. To me, the attraction is supposed to be a reinvention of Disneyland's. Disneyland only had less villains and less mist projections. Before I forget, did you even mention Chernabog or Maleficent when you were saying all of the villains' names.
