Other frequencies we experience as visible light, even others as smells. They are all waves. Calling sound a side effect is like calling reality a side effect.

It works with frequencies of the size required for human sound, and so we must say they are being affected by sound. Sound as we define it requires air molecules to vibrate. Air, though very small, actually is particle at some tiny density, and particle is light, so sound is another way to experience light. Smell is also a way to experience light b/c smell pertains to particles and particles are light. There are different kinds of waves, however sound waves we can hear as they fall within the spectrum of our human ear. (roughly 20 Hz - 20 kHz.) Think of a dog whistle it still produces a sound wave yet humans can't hear it. so in reality it is still a sound wave.

What is reality?
For you it is what your body (brain) experiences, right?
But correctly spoken, that is not reality.
You're example of the dog is a good example, that actually proves my point.
We should not limit our thinking to how we translate external waves because by doing so we limit our thinking to the limits of what our bodies can experience. And that is VERRY limited.
Everything is relative. Including 'sound' and 'color'. Its all waves.

The answer is no. I verry seriously doubt they experience sound.
If you want to approuch this phenomenon correctly you should talk about waves.
Sound is only a side effect of how our brain captures these frequencies and again, that has NOTHING to do with this experiment.

Is this experiment being performed for the material being manipulated or for the human observer and why have they used frequencys we percieve as sound? I do believe the material is acting according to its own nature when audible sound frequencys are induced into the metal plate. They could have used other frequencys that are ears could not detect. Why do they call the test Bringing Matter To Life With Sound if sound has nothing to do with? the experiment?

but sound is a wave, silly, and its not just our minds interpreting the vibration of air molecules. When we interpret waves at certain frequencies using our ear, we call it sound. Other frequencies we experience as visible light, even others as smells. They are all waves. Calling sound a side effect is like calling reality a side effect.

Well, it is a sound that they are being affected by because you wouldn't be able to use any size of a wave to get these effects I'm guessing. It works with frequencies of the size required for human sound, and so we must say they are being affected by sound. Really, it's light, but everything's light, and if we don't make distinguishable differences with our descriptions of these waves, then we really don't have anything to discuss. Life is waves, Waves create particles, Particles describe life.

Sound as we define it requires air molecules to vibrate. Air, though very small, actually is particle at some tiny density, and particle is light, so sound is another way to experience light. Smell is also a way to experience light b/c smell pertains to particles and particles are light. So in essence, everything is wave potential energy, until an observer causes the wave of potential to collapse into a particle of experience. I'm a musician also, and this shit just makes me smile.
