veryon is etitled to their opinions but in adam duritzs case peopleneed to realize he isnt trying to duplicate his vocals from the studio when singing live. hes doing an empathic emotional version of audio "slam poetry". once you see that its easy to see he is unique and a very special artist. One of a kind and supremely gifted at connecting with his audience.

i definitely think this is a great version: the harmonies really add a great touch to it, the guitar arrangement is great, and the singer's voice fits the song perfectly. of course, being a dead head, i prefer GD's version, but this cover definitely does the song justice. Kudos to Counting Crows.

acid is a crazy drug. first time i heard this song was during my first acid trip and i felt as though it was go guiding me through it. went home and watched the movie american beauty, later learned that was the name of the album this song is from. ive always been a fan of the counting crows and while listening to the counting crows i was looking up the tabs for the original version of this song, and ended up finding this. Grateful Dead version is my favorite song of all time and with good reason

Uh The dead in the later years did it at a slower tempo... from 76 on pretty much. The Garica grisman stuff is slower as well. I always prefered slow FOTD's.

Th thing is with this version is it sucks ass. They should stay away from Jerry's ghost... the leftovers have enough to deal with ...without people translating these songs in shitty ways.
