  • hi have you listened to this repeater 145.410 in kenniwick washington

  • good looking tower. could you please learn about safety.

  • Kind of dumb with out a safety belt

  • what kind of tower is that

  • He shimmied up that like a youngun

  • well done

  • nicht schlecht. 73 from Germany

  • hi, how tall is that tower and how much does a tower like that cost? i need something like that to make a network bridge.

    Thanks in advance

  • Well done, it's good to see someone who can climb a tower the way it should be done. I thought for a second you'd do a hand stand on the top!! Watching you run up there brings back happy memories. keep it up, it's a good way to keep fit and healthy.

All the best. ex BICC, AEI, James Scott, Balfour Beatty, 60's when this was the only way.

  • Ya, Ya....I know

  • haha now come put my antenna up on a estimate 30' tower.... LOL you sir are brave for going that high without fear. (i fear the top of my tower LOL)

  • looks like your used to that

  • As someone that works often with people that do rigging as a living - you my friend are quite foolish. Not even a professional rigger would EVER climb a tower like that without safety gear. That is just plain foolish. One slip and it's all over. You would never EVER see any professional climbing a tower like that without PPE...ever! Please wear a harness and tie off as you climb the tower. One slip... one foot in the wrong place and it could be all over and no one would like to see that. :-)

  • @craig3008 Man this video sure has got people riled up! Yes, i know i should have been wearing PPE, however i no longer have the tower and have since donated it to my local amateur radio club. It may not be in my backyard anymore but i use it every day because it is now part of our repeater system. Thanks for your concern.

  • I like that slip at 12 seconds, was waiting for the fall

  • "STUPID" will get you "KILLED" really fast.DIRT NAPS are FOREVER!

  • 훌륭합니다.

  • @phardcare Are you a ham radio operator? a mast is a sinle pipe which you cant climb a tower would be somthing you can climb.

  • How tall is that tower; I went through all the comments and not one person has asked that.

  • dude where is your fall protection equipment. One fall and your dead.

  • JUMP !!!!!!!

  • Wow!!! Must have a set of bulls nuts to climb tower and hang like that without a belt!

  • whats the difference?

  • thats a mast not a tower a ham should know that

  • @phardcare I thought a mast was a tall pole, and a mast was an open structure

  • That was awesome,I could do that 50 years ago,I now hire people to climb my tower,73' n4drr

  • Wow some tower :)

  • Не ну и придурок! Такие вещи нужно выполнять только со страховочным поясом!

  • COOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!

  • Wheeooow! No belt makes me cringe! Even a fall at 30 feet can be fatal.

  • Looks like you almost lost it at step #13. Going up that fast without any safety device is a pretty scary thing. It made my palms sweat just watching.

  • Nice tower

  • And no saftey belt things that make you go hmm

  • i don't think that's more than 30 foot. i'm not taking anything away from the guy, but depending on the tower i might not start tying in until around that height anyway.

  • Worst part is there's no restriction to prevent anyone else from climbing the tower, such as kids.

  • i dunno ... theres lots of shit kids can climb. i've seen 40ft ladders sit for days along side houses that are being painted.

  • Tower is permanent and not as scary to more kids than ladders, plus the tower is his and if one climbs it and slips and dies then he has to deal with it emotionally. legally and financially. It only takes 3 sheets of wood or metal 8 ft tall strapped to the tower sides with one hinged with a lock to keep kids out. Sure someone could bypass it with a ladder but then they are at fault as there was a device to keep them off of it. It's same as fencing and locking a swimming pool or locking pills

  • im not sure if its less scary to kids than a ladder is, but i agree completely with everything else you said. unfortunately most privately owned towers like that arent enclosed. some are though .... sometimes people put them up against their house to make it easier.

  • We had a few against the house in the area a few years ago, one even remarked that it doubled as a fire escape from the second floor if needed - none of them thought about it being a way to the second floor window or roof then window - they were burglarized and the tower gave them the way up to unsecured windows. One removed the now unused tower after that, the others caged them in with woof or metal to at least 8 ft. My tower is solid blocked on 2 sides, 3rd is hanged and hasped with a lock.

  • i dont think id have thought about the tower as a means of unlawful entry either. i would now after hearing about it, but i doubt i would have prior. i dont disagree with putting an enclosure around the tower by any means, but couldnt have have also locked their windows?

  • They did lock the windows but it doesnt take much to run a blade between the upper and lower and open the latch, or break the glass. No windows on one of them on the first floor and breaking glass on the sides or front would have given them away. Just a matter of thinking like a criminal gives you insight into how easy it actually is, even with an alarm (takes up to 30 mins for response usually and by then they are gone)

  • Nice tower, daft climb though, wonder if they need planning permission?

  • Yes, Health and safety are out the window on this one. I wouldn't want to be around the site if this dude had a bad day! No matter what shape your in. Good luck bud!

  • Oh C'mon guys, enough with the Occupational Health & Safety issues here !

He's American ... he CAN'T THINK and climb at the same time geeeez

  • viper7077 From a Proffessional rigger please get a leaning belt at the very least.

Nice tower. Like to think you will be climbing it for along time to come.

    Regards GD4LPN

  • why didnt u jump down??

  • How tall is it? Cheers, 73's

  • try a 200 foot tower

  • u DEFINETLY have a set of brass balls....i have nightmares about stuff like that!

  • That, sir, is a beautiful tower. I have to congratulate you on your head for heights too, but as other have said, it's just one slip that does it, and even people who climb tall structures every day for a living slip sometimes.

    73

  • Good display of physical fitness, I do that on my 110 ft tower, only a little slower and wearing a safety harness. I used to free climb when I was 10 years younger, but got a harness a few years ago. Could be why I am older now. Please get a safety harness om, we want you around for a while! Take care and 73's Bryan

  • not too smart.. my tower is 100 ft and i climb it fairly often as i am never satisfied with my antennas.. i always wear boots, gloves and a safety belt.

    chris/N3GAD

  • Nice knowin you. A fall from that height could pretty much kill your hobby for you and your family.

    73

  • You have a nice tower there I want you to live long enough to enjoy it. It doesnt make you stupid as others say just think about it a bit more before you do it again. It only takes one fall, you know that. Cheers and 73

  • if there was high power rf going to that antenna at the time you touched it you would have had a nice burn and fall -- safety first!!!

  • How many free climbing morons are here on youtube? NEVER FREE CLIMB! otherwise you may find out what goes through a bugs mind when he hits the windshield of a car..HIS ASS! You'd only get to ride it down once there feller.

  • wow, youre fucking stupid.

  • Very stupid stunt, even with safety harness would be foolish to climb like that.

  • Did you know that you have a 50% chance of death from just a 10 foot fall?

  • I like your safety harness
