This is the best "menu rpg adventure" game on the nes. Other games very similar to this are "Uninvited" and "Deja Vu".

As others mentioned there is also DejaVu. There's another one called Uninvited. I would love a Shadowgate remake. Not something like Shadowgate 64 though :(

i could never play this game on nes now. you need a mouse for this stuff. better using a emulator and the mouse i think. pretty sure there is a way to use a mouse now.

I can remember Shadowgate got some very bad reviews when it came out but personally I really love playing this one. It can be quite difficult to figure out what to do next so I'll admit I did cheat a bit sometimes and used an faq.

Man, I haven't played this is years. I remember having a lot of fun with this game when I was younger, it was one of those games that I could just play over and over again, despite having beat it several times. This brought back a lot of memories and I'm definitely going to be picking this up the next time I find a copy. Thanks a lot for posting this up, Luke.

Both "Uninvited" , "Shadowgate" and "DejaVu" are products of ICOM , so it's not a big surprise that they're similar :D

I have the swedish version of this game , the coolest part about that is all the typos. And the fact that they have a note in the box about all the typos :)

Always liked ShadowGate for the NES i remember its music the best.

Luke you should try out Deja Vu or Uninvited they game like ShadowGate and you might enjoy them as well.
