  • What a nice tribute to a good man. I was a teenager back in the 1970's and helped several different NASCAR drivers-Ulrich, Wawak, etc-drivers people barely remember. Dick was a great friend to me I swear I wore nothing other than STP t-shirts he gave me for years. Dick was why NASCAR racing was fun back then; he didn't need an agent to work up a contract to drive a car, he just grabbed his helmet and got in the thing and drove it. You had to know him to appreciate him. RIP Dick, and thanks.

  • We'll all miss Trickie Dick. My Dad (Elmo) and Dick were long time buddies. I loved all the old photos. Thanks for sharing this with us. I loved seeing the photos of Joyce. My Mom and her were very good friends. Some of the old NASCAR banquet pics had my Mom and Dad in them as well. Great stuff. Dick was a great comfort to our family when Elmo passed. I'll always remember his playful smile and that twinkle in his eye. Guys from that era are few and far between these days. RIP Dick May.
