  • lol. The kid just wants the stickers.

  • I hear Kermit.

  • I would love to see this guy have Sasha Cohen-type movie about him.

  • I really like how at 3:30 that stance is supposed to be pro-environment.

  • @hawanja

Word -- there sooo many hippies.. they could collectively put together enough to have a private reserve, then use their bestowed property rights to sue the shit out of corporations who pollute their tract.

  • lmao I have some libertarian views and I thought this video was fuckin hillarious.

  • So what are you saying, that "libertarians" should hide their true positions on the economy, education, the environment and guns, in order to hoodwink people into joining their party?

You're making fun of these guys, but the guy who was going on about his hatred for public schools and teachers was actually not too much of an exaggeration. I met "libertarians" like that and they've even admitted that "some people's kids are too dumb to be in school".

I'm not going to support this party.

  • @mrktjobs Please tell me you are sarcastic! If you truly understand this video as you depicted then you need to focus more. This is true that people of idea often are engulfed with it and often overburden their interlocutors with knowledge and this video tries to persuade them to be more moderate towards people who come to learn something. It is just a call to make people interested in liberty and not to attack them with it. It is by no means call to lie and hide uncomfortable truth.

  • @mrktjobs This is how people "hear" us because we don't explain our peaceful, beneficial solutions properly. The full video shows what we say, how people "hear" it and a better way to actually explain liberty.

  • This is a very dangerous video. I all but fell out of my chair laughing! Sadly, it's so close to true!

  • This guy sounds more like a Tea-Partier than a Libertarian. ;).

  • ...um, my friend owns a tank. Literally.... he owns a tank, a surplus Saladin tank.

    It IS registered.

It's gun is sadly deactivated.... for now.

  • Shorter vid: Don't freak out the norms by telling them what we actually believe.

  • LOL... Old Faithful is at Yellowstone, not Yosemite. :D Hilarious bit!

  • Tanks, M16s, bazookas, grenades, are all products of Government. Without the research and development through warfare that is Government vs government non of this crap would exist in the first place. The first thing a Libertarian society would need to do if ever such a thing could ever happen would be to destroy all that stuff or else there wouldn't be a Libertarian society for very long.

  • you have an extra "not" in the title.

  • LOL!

  • Eh. Cute, but inaccurate.

  • "You hippies want to save the forest, we want to pave the forest"

    LOL, great, fun vid :P

  • This video is hilarious! I was dying by the end!

  • There is heaps big confusion about Konkinism and minarchism, say Tonto...

Nolan was obviously doing this on purpose, to show how not to use his tool. (...That sounds worse than it is.) ..Seriously though, Nolan was a great guy. He'll be missed.

  • Yeah, cos insulting people's intelligence and telling them to shut their kids up is a GREAT way to drum up support.

  • 5:50 hilarious ;D

  • @shadowgeyser I don't think it's nice of people suffering from Aspergers to satirize libertarians.

  • the second amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear a doomsday device.

  • as outrageous (and funny) as this was, it isn't that far from the libertarian manifesto.

  • @tomitstube So true, libertarians aren’t the best at explaining the benefits of their ideas.

  • @hilgi2003 ~ libertarianism is basically mob rule without a central government. they live in a fantasy world, they think you gain civil liberties and rights by abolishing a central government that protects those very rights. which is contradictory to logic.

  • @tomitstube You are talking about anarchists; libertarians want a government with a strong constitution that protects rights. What does your post have to do with outreach BTW?

  • @hilgi2003 ~ anarchists and libertarians are indistinguishable. cut from the same cloth.

maybe you missed all-star libertarian ron paul at c-pac this week? he sanctioned abolishing the federal government completely. to wild cheers i might add.

  • @tomitstube Um that was the Federal Reserve, not the Federal Government.

  • @hilgi2003 ~ lol, of course he railed against the fed and it's secrecy, which i think any sane person will agree with. start listening at the 17:30 mark, where paul says "let's opt out of the whole system" - "don't ask the government for anything, you take care of yourself".

another flaky thing he says. "liberty comes from our creator, not our gov't". oh really? and we'll get all our guidance thru prayer like dubya did?

paul is close, better than a repub, but he's wrong on too much.

  • @tomitstube He talks in big picture ideas, no problem, you don't like him fine, why waste your time here? I doubt he means we need to end the military and courts, come on. Plus he said nothing about guidence, just where it comes from. That is also said the the D of I BTW. "they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights"

  • @hilgi2003 ~ i was merely correcting your mistake. lol, you firstly defended him by saying he didn't believe the federal gov't should be abolished by saying that's an "anarchist" stance, not libertarian. then you said he didn't say it. now you say that isn't really what he meant, it's "no problem".

    you are oh for three.

  • @tomitstubeIf it makes you feel better to say he wants to abolish the federal government completely and totally, than have at. You have one out of context off the cuff remark; I have thousands of hours and video and thousands of pages in writing where he clarifies his views. Gee you really got me!

  • @hilgi2003 He's not even talking about anarchists. Anarchists want non-monopolistic, decentralized governance in a communal and or market system, not mob rule.

  • Are these Libertarian Outreach booths or Aspergers Outreach booths?

  • "YOU DON'T WANT TO BE A COMMUNIST, DO YOU?"

I love that pushy libertarian. I mean, I agree with him, but he words everything in the worst possible way.

  • Bazooka training now, baby!

  • LOL

  • LOL It's funny because it's true!

  • "could you keep your daughter quiet" hahahahahahahahaha this video should come with a warning: "CAUTION: MAY DIE LAUGHING"

  • Mark Selzer is quite good in front of the camera, whether as a gun nut OR an interesting interviewer (see the many episodes of The Libertarian Alternative)

  • gah i couldn't watch...lol

  • The constitution probably does actually support machine guns and bazookas, but not tanks and planes. Weaponry at the time was generally divided into arms and armaments. Arms (blades, pistols, and rifles,) were personal weapons operated and maintained by a single person and were often owned by the militiaman. Armaments were cannons, personnelled weapons requiring more than one person to operate or maintain, and were owned by the municipality or state.

  • @WorBlux That being said, still not the best way to approach the topic. Perhaps the best way is to point out that the police are allowed to carry automatic arms for self-defense, and to point out that criminals tend to stick with small and cheap pistols.

  • @WorBlux Cannon were more often owned by individuals and corporations - specifically, merchants, as they were used to protect shipping.

  • Mark Selzer deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of a gun-fanatic. He certainly has communication skills his character doesn't have, plus, I doubt he loves bazookas that much.

  • It about 98-02 I think.

  • what year did this come out?

  • That mother is a liberal; doesn't want to listen to anything, just her life is important.

  • Wow that's so cool. Which guy was one of your activists? It was probably me. Who is this?

  • Wow, thanks for the memories! The booth across the way was the group that introduced me to activism, the Orange County Hemp Council. In fact, I word the booth the same year that was filmed. The guy in the gun seen was one of our activists.

  • We need more libertarian humor.

  • hilarious

  • This is so funny. Thank you.
