Bernd Rosemeyer war einer der berühmtesten deutschen Automobilrennfahrer vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg und hatte in der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus den Ehrenrang eines Hauptsturmführers in der SS inne. In seiner Geburtsstadt Lingen an der Ems ist noch heute eine Straße nach ihn benannt. Ich wundere mich wie man noch in heutiger Zeit eine Straße nach ein SS Mann bennen muß. Und nun auch noch Autos?

Evtl. darum weil Bernd Rosemeyer ein grandioser Rennfahrer war der bereits in den 1930er Jahren Rennautos auf über 400kmh beschleunigt hat? Mein Urgroßvater war im 2. Weltkrieg auch in Russland an der Front... soll ich deswegen meinen Familiennamen ändern? Dieses Auto ist einfach eine Homage an einen außergewöhnlichen Rennfahrer! That'z it...

Überigens hatte Bernd Rosemeyer den Rang als SS Hauptsturmführer nur EHRENHALBER inne weil er ein mutiger Rennfahrer war und nicht weil er ein NAZI war. Nur er war halt ein SS Mann und hat das gerne angenommen weil ihm Seine Rennfahrerberuf nicht aufgeben wollte. Gruppenzwang bei den Nazis halt.

With due respect to the Auto Union racers, their design simply doesn't translate very well when applied to a car like this. Thank God Audi realized this and ultimately went with the design of the R8, which is really sexy compared to this thing.

I'd like to see a video of this thing in action though; it seems to have insane power figures!

yh but so does the bentley hunaudieres same engine without the quad turbo,

this looks more like what spawned the production audi R8 or the le mans quattro concept

The Bentley Hunaudieres was also built on the same platform.

It's a special platform designed and engineered for concept cars, but it was heavily adapted and used in a production car for the Veyron.
