Love this. My only gripe is the last two seconds, the sudden change in the music, doesn't quite sit with me. But don't get me wrong, that's a very, very minor complaint -- otherwise this is very well done!!
@firerosearien The only reason for the sudden change of music is that the ending music only lasts 2 or so seconds before the whole "My name is Bilbo Baggins" part starts and I didn't want to include that section so I had to add something else.
expected journey!?. The movie LORD OF THE RINGS was beutifull, but fortunetly,it launching movie HOBBIT , like "Lord Of The Ring Movie". And the Movie "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows" is simmillar with LORD OF THE RINGS movie.
I like what you did this this, flows better, and is even more in the tone of the first movies. I did like the "Official" trailer, but yours is far better.
The rest of the original trailer did not seem to fit the song, but you nailed it perfectly. Will be showing this to friends instead of Peter Jackson's!
A mored dark/epic "Lord of the Rings" take on the edit, but keeping in mind that The Hobbit was written for children and is far less dense of a story than the trilogy, I prefer the original edit with its lightheartedness intact. Said edit also makes the contrast of light to dark that much more moving when kept intact--the first time I heard Thorin & Co. start singing in the original trailer gave me crazy chills, but this cut utilizes it more for backdrop. Good editing, but wrong tone for me.
@krayziekyd Sure it was, it's impetus came from writing little fables and poems for Tolkien's kids. It is considered children's literature and it was only after Tolkien's publisher's child gave the book a favorable review that they decided to publish it.
@haharleyquinn Yeah I get that. I just felt that it could have been paced a little better. You can have a good mix of the light-hearted stuff with the darker stuff if you made it flow smoother. For me, it just cut to the darker stuff a bit too sooner. For a teaser, I feel mine would have worked a bit better but for an actual trailer I would like to see the mix between light and dark.
I get what you were going for but I think I prefere to regular one. I mean, if the official one had been done more like yours it would have been pretty kick-ass. I feel like Peter Jackson is going for a slightly more lighthearted feel with The Hobbit, not as dark as LOTR which would explain the trailer the way it was. Unless they sourced the trailer out to a different group and PJ had shit to do with it.
@JuberLOL Yeah I understand that. I just think there could have been a better way to mix the light-heartedness with the dark/epic stuff. I think mine would have worked better for an announcement/teaser trailer and the real one (if worked on for a bit longer) could have worked as a normal trailer. I just felt like they had three ideas for a trailer and threw them together to make one. Just my opinion though.
