In my opinion Paul's best gimmick was The Ripper in OVW, but he played the pirate gimmick really well, it's a shame WWE doesn't realize how talented Paul is.

This gimmick seemed popular with people but it really wasn't him. When he wrestled in England with FWA he was billed as a monster (they even used to go "Burrrrchill Burrrrchill!" like he was Goldberg - except he could actually work lol) OVW's 'Ripper' gimmick was better than this too IMO.
And WWE mentality "lets take the C4, one of the most devastating looking finishers ever and give it a better name... I know!!! Lets call it 'Walking the Plank'" *rolls eyes* lol.

i heard him and ariel are going to ecw cuz ariel wants to be a pirate so they released the vampire and they might bring her back as shelly the pirate with burchill (happened on sd once but shelly the pirate then was dropped)

Burchill is possibly returning to SD!, seeing as how he had a dark match at the recent SD! tapings. He teamed up with Dave Taylor to take on Funaki and Shannon Moore. Suprisingly, Moore and Funaki won the match. However, Burchill is the current OVW Heavywight Champion (in his fourth reign as of now) and because of his impressive success in OVW, it's only a matter of time before we see him again. 5/5 for this vid, KMARulez.

It wasn't because of a lawsuit by the POTC makers but because Vince McMahon actually thought the gimmick didn't get over... true story. Believe it or not, Vince was unaware of Pirates of the Caribbean and its success...

Can't believe WWE abandoned this gimmick straight before POTC2 came out. Would have been the perfect time to cash in. The Pirate gimmick was simply awesome.

Yeah, the WWE would get alot of credit if they brought him back because of the fanbase that still exists. It's somewhat similar to the Muhammad Hassan situation, except nobody would be offended by a pirate.

1. Call up Burchill from OVW, put him back in this gimmick
2. Try to find Savio Vega and see if he wants to do the Kwang thing again.
3. Put the two in a feud.
The whole thing should attract nerdy types like flies.
