I know this soldier. We were in the same regiment and we trained together in 1994 in CFB Petawawa. We were stationed in the Georgetown C Company. Sorry to hear aout his legs, but he's made quite a recovery.

2- Post Traumatic Stress=Battle Fatigue......war, no matter what its reason for starting, can drive some people insane! civilians and soldiers both. i studied the effects of trench warfare. repeated artillery explosions caused the most psychological damage. one officer stood there after a huge explosion. and he calmly asked who owned the eyeball he was holding in his hand. this was once a normal good officer.

Yes, its called a Combat Stress Reaction, were all sorts of stuff happens. They found the cure for it back then, we still use it today. Rotate them out of the line but not to far back, let them relax safe for awhile and then send them back to their friends and brothers.

Nice to know that Canadians support their Soldiers. If only I could say the same for most Americans. There are alot of Americans who do support their Troops, just not as many as there should be.
Ever since 1973 (end of the Vietnam War) the Army here in the US has been considered a "four-letter word". Sadly, I don't believe that will ever change.

My favourite thing about the Canadian forces is how professional they act on the battlefield. They make me proud to be American and they have built Canada ALOT of respect by doing what they have done in Afghanistan. GOD BLESS THE TROOPS. You make us proud!
